  • What is Permaculture?

    Permaculture = Permanent Culture

    What is Permanent Culture?

    Permanent Culture = Growing Your Own Food

  • great vid!

  • I remember Hippies.

  • they used to live in Nimbin, before the teeny gangsta hip hoppers took over

  • That's the goal.

  • no sound!

  • @reingo73 I think it's just you, try turning up the volume! Everyone else seems to be able to hear it!

  • great. Nice to see these old tendencies alive in Russia today.

  • didn't appear as if they were employing premaculture principles. for one, they plowing the land.

  • Permaculture is not dogmatic, but rather a designer's toolbox. The designer may use as many or as few permaculture tools or principles as is appropriate.

  • Bill Mollison's Permaculture Principles

    * Work with nature rather than against.

    * The problem is the solution.

    * Make the least change for the greatest possible effect.

    * The yield of a system is theoretically unlimited

    * Everything gardens

    * Each element supports multiple functions

    * Each important function is supported by multiple elements

  • Thanks for posting the core principles of Permaculture, which clearly supports the point of working with nature and not against it. when you plow and disturb the soil you are clearly working against nature. also can you point out in this video where they are using a permacutlure technique/methodology.

  • It's very easy to pontificate about methods and techniques from the comfort of a fossil fuel powered home, whilst eating supermarket food. Despite the inclination of many towards dogma, Permaculture simply doesn't fit into that box. Ultimately Anatoly & family are living off grid and growing their own food, thats what Permaculture is REALLY about, regardless of the methods. I did notice Anatoly using a rotary cultivator, which is neither a plow (whatever that is) nor a plough for that matter.

  • @Tikmondo Well every action has a reaction the key is for the reaction to be less harmfull the action. So while yes till the earth does get disturbed it also gives life supporting nurishment. Sort of like yer the woman stomach does get disturbed but she puts out a life. The earth is like our mother and we shoiuld give it all the respect and love we do our own mothers!

  • We're working on making this happen for us in Norway.

  • This is a lot harder than she describes.

    I've known people to leave town and try this. Work...work...work...sun up til sundown.

  • @pgm98387

    Perhaps your friends should read "One Straw Revolution" by Masanobu Fukuoka

  • @PakaNoHida

    Kung Fu technique: Lazy Gardener, i.e., chop and drop, mulch everything, let things grow wild, thin instead of transplant, live and let live, work smart not hard. Oh, and always garden with a cold beer in hand. lol.

    Peace :-)

  • It is only in nature that man becomes man

  • in the city, man lives in an artificial world, he becomes a robot

  • Nice! Love to learn more about them.

    Thanks for posting.

  • It is only in nature that man becomes man

  • @haripothed great quote, and how true. being able to provide for your family from nature , isn't that the ultimate "test".?
