I don't agree with everything Abraham Lincoln did during his presidency. I especially disagree with the suspension of Habeas Corpus, however I do think he was within his constitutional power to do so since there was a rebellion going on (unlike Bush). He was far more anti-slavery before becoming president and became seemingly ambivalent to it during his presidency, until war broke out.

The civil war was a rebellion. Although this part is under Article I, so it would appear the framers may have intended suspension of habeas corpus go through the legislative process. Believe me, I disagree with Lincoln's actions, but at least he could make a const. argument. Bush could not.
Weather the framers intended to have it go though the congress seems irrelevant when the Supreme Court ruled that indeed it must go through the Congress

So I blv all our ancestors suffered some back then.

He's only as good as his leader's beneath him and, he relies on their input. If the ship is sinking, he usually doesn't know until his crew tells him. I don't agree with everything Abraham Lincoln did during his presidency. I especially disagree with the suspension of Habeas Corpus, however I do think he was within his constitutional power to do so since there was a rebellion going on (unlike Bush). He was far more anti-slavery before becoming president and became seemingly ambivalent to it during his presidency, until war broke out.
However, overall I think he was a good president.

uhhh, the part of the constitution that reads, "The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, UNLESS WHEN IN CASES OF REBELLION or invasion the public safety may require it.
The civil war was a rebellion. Although this part is under Article I, so it would appear the framers may have intended suspension of habeas corpus go through the legislative process. Believe me, I disagree with Lincoln's actions, but at least he could make a const. argument. Bush could not.

It's true that some of those things did take place while the country was being framed, but I belve that America has evolved since then. In case you don't know, it was a "dog eat dog" world back in the 16th and 17th centuries. Everyone was fighting everyone to get a piece of land in America. In fact, they even had white slaves (Indentured) back then also that they put on boats and sent to America from England. It wasn't just blacks from Africa. So I blv all our ancestors suffered some back then.

BTW, they didn't say you have to worship their god, they just believed in some god--a higher power than man. Religion is not something they created on their own, it was always there since time began. In fact, the Bill of Rights doesn't say that ANY religion is superrior than others. It just says that you have a right to practice your own religion, what ever it may be.

Since u really don't know what happened with Katrina, I will tell you. Plain and simple--the levies broke from years of wear and tear, without maintenance. That is NOT Bush's fault, those levies were fucked up way before Katrina. BTW, N. O. fared very well in that storm before the levies broke. How R U going to blame a freak of mother nature on one man? Bush was warned the levies would break, it's on video, but took little action ahead of time. He responded astonishingly slowly, leaving thousands of rescue workers sitting outside the city with no direction. It was an embarrassing, pathetic response.
And vaccines are difficult to make. You'll notice that 95% of republicans voted AGAINST a bill that included extra funding for the vaccine.
The Obama administration merely reported the numbers the manufacturers claimed, it was short.

This reminds me a lot of the chain-of-command in the military. Commanding Officer's have several leaders beneath them to handle issues of their depts. He's only as good as his leader's beneath him and, he relies on their input. If the ship is sinking, he usually doesn't know until his crew tells him. So I guess my questn would be to all the local gvt and up the food chain what they did to prevent this before telling Bush. If you ask me, the real culprits were the local gvt--like Mayor Nagen.

I saw the whole interview on both nights that it was aired. Bill Orielly asked great questions and Sarah answered them just like a TRUE American. She appealed to real Amercians who know how this country was built.
