  • Just watched on HBO and its fascinating. Since the beggining I knew they were innocents, but theres no justice. They are free but declared themselves as guilty to get it? Fuck "this justice"! They can't sue the state too, the law is so wrong. Terry Hobbs was the killer.

  • @Ghorindel Do you have proof Hobbs was the killer? A confession perhaps? Oh wait, that's Misskelley with multiple confessions. Alibi? Oh yeah, that's right- It was Echols, Baldwin, and Misskelley who could not even produce ONE witness to vouch for them that withstood cross examination. Did Hobbs plead guilty? No, sorry. Echols, Baldwin, and Misskelley again. DNA @ the crime scene? Yeah that proves Hobbs and Stevie Branch lived in the same house. Did all DNA testing exclude them? No it DID NOT.

  • SHould of Fried him when they had the chance

  • No academy award for this piece of garbage.

  • @Lethalstorm the nomination alone is commendable...not to mention it helped free three innocent men robbed of their childhood, while shedding light on the fact that the killer of 3 murdered boyscouts still roams West Memphis. How do you look yourself in the mirror with such an ugly outlook on life.

  • @MichaelScarn23 Easy. I can look at myself and say I never supported 3 child murdering lowlife pieces of trash. No matter how this plays out in the future I will always be able to say that. Let's say one day there's a hit on one or more of the over 60 samples of DNA that were inconclusive. If it's someone other than Echols, Baldwin, or Misskelley then I'll shrug and say, I'll be damned.

But if it's theirs, how will you look at yourself in the mirror knonwing you supported them?

  • @Lethalstorm All citizens are innocent until proven guilty. Any other approach would be both unethical and unpractical.

  • @MichaelScarn23 They were proven guilty in a court of law. Last year they pled guilty in a court of law. They spent over 10 million dollars to prove their innocence and could not. So how do you look yourself in the mirror knowing you support 3 convicted child murderers who have never produced even ONE stitch of exculpatory evidence proving otherwise?

  • michael Wayne echols ..... POS

  • So fucking fascinating!!!

  • i saw this , and i think that hobbs dude did it

  • i just wanted to say that this documentary was pretty much perfectly done in every single way

  • Terry Hobbs = creepy, lying, abusive trash. In a crime look at the man who runs off and hides . Beyers never did but Hobbs did . Lets not forget Hobbs DNA being found on a child who was NOT his.

  • Byers didn't do it just watch carefully you can tell

  • All this talk of Satan worshiping and things occult. Sure, Miroslav Satan was a great hockey player, but, I can't imagine him tied up in kid killing rituals. I don't think any hockey fan truly "worships" their favorite player. ( SARC) I know this; thousands of children disappear worldwide and many are sacrificed to some demon( whether real or unreal) When you see the video of the dead children, it looks ritual. I imagine these poor kids were very scared. My heart to the parents.

  • @godbluffvdgg I don't know....Flyer fans are savages.

  • @TrollBoothTommy Hey, I represent that remark!

  • Just because no DNA is found on boys murdered and sitting in swamp water for some time, does not mean Damien and Jason did not rape and murder the children. It simply means no DNA was found on the washed out bodies.

  • @PeekyBooo Are you retarded?

  • @spiritscar yep I'm retarded because I don't agree with your morally bankrupt life.

  • Terry Hobbs is definitely not the murderer. He's just a man that's not politically correct and that's partly honourable. He will take action if his women is cheated on.

  • Do the crime, do the time.

  • Jason Baldwin could easily have got off if his teacher testified to him being in class all day, but obviously this was not the situation. Jason is not convincing me of his innocence.

  • It's quite clear that Damien Echols was a Satanist. The question is did he test the waters and carry out the ritual to murder the children. Did Jason Baldwin follow the leader into the ritual.

  • Another large eye opener, during the second film, they discuss a lot about bite marks and dental impressions. Byers in one scene pulls his dentures out and states to friends that he was in fights with supporters of the three teens and people punched his teeth out. He later is challenged by supporters of the 3 teens to give dental impressions, and he again pulls his dentures out, and defiantly tells them he knows the doctors who pulled his teeth and he'll offer the X-rays.

  • Also, Byers gave the knife that likely was used to HBO probably thinking it was a good way to get rid of the weapon and get it out of the picture. The guy paraded around to portray himself as the most upset of all of the parents, and the most vocal about damning the 3 teens, to keep himself out of suspicion. If that case wasn't in a small backwoods town - "I didn't do nuthin" wouldn't cut it. He'd have been a suspect in the boys murders, and his wife's murder.

  • Having watched the first film, I was certainly initially feeling, three teens were guilty. But it only took a little while of seeing Byer's behavior on film to have a deep seated feeling that he was the killer. Especially seeing the second film, he had such forced emotion, acting angrier than the mothers of the 3 boys. And his ridiculous "fall to his knees" at his wife's grave that was so self scripted. He probably had to channel his guilt to salvage any tears.

  • john bryers is a fucking monster

  • It's interesting it seems nobody has mentioned when the stepfather had his lie detector questions asked(regardless of passing it, those things are a joke)in the sequel he let it slip when he responded to getting a D.W.I. He responds to the guy when asked about his criminal record and in his response says He got a D.W.I shortly after his wife was murdered. If her cause of death was undetermined where did that come from?

  • What these 3 men should do is escape Fascist Amerika and seek asylum in a real free county and then file charges against the State of Arkansas and Amerika.in the World Court.

  • where can i watch for free?!?!

  • & I've read everything about this case from the very beginning & I'm from Arkansas & I can tell u that I've done more than just watched a simple documentary! & it doesn't matter really because even if they are innocent or guilty it still doesn't change the facts that they never were giving a fair trial!

  • @bskjunkie Just out of curiosity ,Do you know if That David Jacoby fellow is a white guy or a black guy? I'm assuming he's white but I've never heard either way.

  • I'm sorry maybe u should go back & listen to his so called confession that's enough evidence itself that these boys are innocent!

  • Comment removed

  • Isnt it funny how people act like they know all about it b/c they watched a documentary that typically only shows one side. In this case not even a docu, just a trailer.

'Oh I always knew they were innocent'

Like no one has ever weaseled their way out of justice.

  • this story has touched me since the first time ive seen this on hbo...im so glad that the west memphis 3 are finally out! i believed that they were innocent from the start. what has happened to memphis!? arresting innocent teenagers because they dress in black and listen to metalica. hell if that was the case then pratically everyone in california would get arrested! john bryers was sketchy from the start! RIP to the 3 boys found dead, im sorry that someone so sick did this to innocent boys!

  • They are still not "Free" I have followed this for well over 15 years. I am so attached to this case...because this happens way too often in the country..they are the voice for many.

  • yo

  • ok so they realesed them, but then, who killed the boys, is there an active investigation?

  • Keep it real Baldwin, you are a free man now!

  • If you did not roll your eyes in disbelief at the stupidity of the prosecutor, jury, townspeople and judge during Paradise Lost 1 and 2, then you surely will when you read the "Devil's Knot" book by Marla Leveritt, an extensive record of the witchhunt trial with even more incriminating evidence against Byers -- he is a self-admitted drug snitch for the police & he boldly gave HBO filmmakers a bloody knife that matched blood type of his stepson!

This whole case was a travesty and debacle!

Its money, thats it. money, theres no conspiracy, no shadow government, just greed.

  • @scumfuccc This is the best Youtube reply I've read in years!

  • @SadoK82

Cheers bud. What I neglected to mention in my earlier rant was that I am glad these guys are out, they had their entire lives stolen from them by a town in the grips of "satanic panic". Such a shame.

  • @scumfuccc Illuminati=jews

  • @scumfuccc

    true shit spoken

  • More Metallica I hope!

  • now that they are free, the only thing that needs to be freed is people's minds. free your mind.

  • Psychological profile of Damien Echols

    w m 3 t r u th . c o m / p s y c h o l o g i c a l- p r o f i l e - o f - d a m i e n - e c h o l s/

Echols in 1992-93 was extremely disturbed and violent. He was institutionalized three times in the year before the murders. He made a suicide pact with his girlfriend. He threatened to kill the girlfriend’s father. He threatened his father with a knife. He threatened to kill his mother. He threatened to eat his father. (from court records)

Jessie Misskelley is not mentally retarded.

He was 17 at the time of the crime and confession, and he functioned at the level of a street-smart but low-IQ 17-year-old.

Misskelley had been Mirandized and signed legal rights waivers on four previous occasions.

  • YOU FUCKERS MAY HAVE ESCAPED JAIL... BUT YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE UNIVERSAL LAWS."

I assume you are talking about religion. Would that be the same "universal laws" that gave religious zealots the "right" to burn people alive because they were different, or the ones that other zealots use when shouting Allahu Akbar while butchering someone.

DNA proved their innocence, get over it. Oh and using all capitals does not make your rantings more factual, it jusr makes you look like a bigger idiot.

  • HERE'S A UNIVERSAL LAW FOR YOU... DO GOOD TO FEEL GOOD!... IT'S SIMPLE REALLY! BUT YOU THREE DUMB FUCKS CAN'T FEEL GOOD.. CAN YOU?

  • YOU DON'T FOOL US!! JONNY DEPPP THE ILLUMINATI MIND CONTROL VICTIM DOES NOT FOOL USE EITHER!! NOR DOES THAT PAYED OFF, PEICE OF CRAP "STEP FATHER" JOHN BRYERS

  • YOU FUCKERS MAY HAVE ESCAPED JAIL... BUT YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE UNIVERSAL LAWS. OH... AND ANOTHER THING... WHEN YOU DIE, AND GO ON THE OTHER SIDE... YOU WILL FEEL EXACTLY EVERYTHING YOU DID TO THOSE BOYS!!! EVERYTHING! THEN HERES WHERE THE UNIVERSE GETS REALLY CLEAVER... NEXT LIFE YOU MAY BE THE VICTIM OF A BRUTAL CRIME AND BE USED IN A SATANIC RITUAL... BURNED ALIVE... HANDS CUT OFF ... WHO KNOWS...??? BUT IT'S COMING TO YOU FUCKERS

  • @caelin14 get over yourself and go play in the sandbox with the other crybaby's. "The other side" lol, you people and the fiction books? How bout this . . .they are FREEEEE now, in the present! That's what really matters simpleton.

  • @LIFER7771 I WISH THAT YOU WERE ONE OF THOSE 8 YEAR OLD BOYS...RAPED...BALLS CUT OFF AND STUFFED IN YOUR MOUTH!!! MAYBE IN NEXT LIFE...I WISH YOU THAT...I HOPE I CAN WATCH IT IN PERSON!!! FUCK YOU DUMMY!!! YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT!!!!

  • I watched this documentary a few nights ago at NYFF. It was fantastic and did an excellent job of tying all 3 films together and bringing the nearly 20 year saga to an end. I'll never forget seeing Damien, Jason and Jessie right there up in the balcony during the end credits of the movie. Such a beautiful moment. It's still giving me chills.

  • Echols is reported to have either told or bragged about the crime to four people before he was arrested. He had a history of psychiatric treatment. His reported actions included brutally killing a dog, starting fires at school, threatening to kill his teachers & parents & stating he liked to drink blood

Statement about Echols stomping/killing a dog

  • Many people believe they were guilty. They were found guilty by a unanimous jury the first time and plead guilty while proclaiming their innocence to avoid a retrial.

Misskelley confessed three separate times, once with his lawyer present. Misskelley also told two other people about the crime before he was arrested. Baldwin told someone else he committed the crimes.

  • @stopchildmolesters Do you understand what "hearsay" means. Do you understand why it is not admissible in court? Anyone can say anything.

Misskelly has an IQ of 60. I am sure if you asked him who killed JFK, he would confess to that too.

  • Hey can someone tell me how I can watch this if I don't have HBO? Can I just order it for a short time so I can see this?

  • @HPAndHG4ever Netflix but they have to release it on DVD and that will take a few months. And any Block Buster stores that are still open.

  • Okay...let me start by saying that I personally know some of the jurors from both trials. They admit that there may have been other players, but they are steadfast in the verdict because of the evidence that wasn't shown in the documentaries. My question is this; if the DNA evidence was going to exonerate these boys, why didn't they pursue innocence when the results actually came back. Instead, they squelched the results and admitted guilt to get out of jail. That is a fact.

  • @bburch99999 Because it's a system that put 3 innocents in jail when there was no way they had enough real evidence to show beyond a reasonable doubt. I know they didn't have it, because they still don't have it. Damien risked execution if the state won a case, they had financial gains from winning. Jason felt like that would make him a legit murderer and decided to join the others with the Plea. Sounds like the Humane thing to do for Jason.

  • So glad they're finally free. I've followed this since day one,and have never swayed in my belief that they are 100% innocent.

  • "Devil's Knot" book by Mara Leveritt is even more damning of MURDERER BYERS than these 2 docs - he was an admitted drug informant for the Arkansas police for many years (he claimed it was voluntary but he snitched to get out of sentences) He was finally given 8 years for drugs after the people were screaming he was the real murderer & he needed "protective custody."

If anyone worships the devil, it's Byers! Police covered for him, which is why the 3 were forced to sign "guilty" statements. SicK

  • this is why they should eliminate the death penalty. not only does it cost tax payers more than life w/o parol, but there are innocent people on death row paying the ultimate price for someone else's crimes.

  • when is it comming out i dident see both those documentrys for nothing

  • Bought my tickets today for the NY Film Festival! SO excited! We love you, Bruce and Joe and Damien and Jason and Jessie!!! WMFREE!

  • fuck i would hate to be him

  • what a babe.

  • I've followed this story for years & even tho they had to plead guilty i'm so pleased they have been released, the state isn't going to admit fault so rather than say "we fucked up" they made the deal so they couldn't be sued. If Judge Laser had any doubt that these men were guilty it wouldn't have gone this far and he definitely would not have let them go free. I believe they r innocent but still think it was Mark Byers and not Terry Hobbs, just my opinion!

  • Can't wait!

  • It's weird how they make that footage from 93/94 look like it was taken back in the 60's.

  • The police botched this investigation completely, cooperated too much with the parents. The first people questioned should have been the families, pedophiles are often related to the victims. I was amazed that they outright admitted to losing evidence. They assumed everyone in the community was sane because they were "normal." Read about serial killers who belonged to the church and killed their victims on the church lawn at night. Anyone who thinks looking normal is being normal is an idiot.

  • Yes,damien suffered a prolapse in jail or protracted anus. Its basically from your anus being penetrated numerous times by a large object thats basically your colon comes out of your anus.

  • @BizzareCorpse Source?

  • @NotADood Department of arkansas corrections..

  • @NotADood The day echols was released from adoc every occult forum had stated echols' new name was "king damien" prophet of the demon,a high honor in occult circles. He was named this for the beautiufl blood ritual sacrifice that occured on robin hood hills an for his silence regarding the inner dwellings of the occult..This samhain theres said to be alot of blood harvests in dedication to echols an any other occult victims in jail practicing there beautiful beliefs..

  • @BizzareCorpse ROFL! Get help.

  • @NotADood Whats so funny about my religion !! Im gonna summon baphomet on samhain an have a holy blood sacrifice in the middle of the pentagram..The black mass on samhain or as you christians call it halloween is no joke..Real occultists not idiots who listen to mariyln manson this is the real deal..What happened down on robin hood hills was a beautiufl blood rite to Gods of the abyss.. HAIL KING DAMIEN !! HOLY PROPHET OF DEMONOLOGY !! 666 !!!

  • @BizzareCorpse Okay, player.

  • @BizzareCorpse is a silly silly religious person.

  • HMMMMM

  • I don't know if Damien and Domonic's relationship ended in anger or friendship but i do hope so much that Damien's son will reach out to him.

I can't even wish enough good things for Jason, Damien and Jesse. I am so happy for them.

Pam and the Moore's and everyone involved deserves to know who really did this crime. Looking forward to part 3

  • well considering the one teenage boy had the IQ of 72 he was in no position to be answering questions by himself. I watched the first one. They twisted the questions around so much he was probably confused and scared.

  • Damien an them did an awesome ritual human harvest to the gods,im sure there very happy with them !!

    HAIL SATAN !!

  • @BizzareCorpse Normally I don't like to insult people. I don't like arguing over the computer because there is no real emotion that goes with it. However, I must say this to you.

Will You Shut The Fuck Up???

You're a troller and you're fishing for people to go back and forth with you for attention. It's not cool, and I'm sure you're too old for this. 3 boys died and you want to play. Grow the hell up, man.

  • @ValeriesGal Sometimes I wonder how the antis reconcile their contention that Damien was proud of the murders and planned to turn himself in with his assertion of his innocence this whole time. And then I remember how logic-impaired their whole position is.

  • @BizzareCorpse Do not disrespect the parents and the families of all the victims involved. For you it may mean nothing, but 3 kids were MURDERED. MUTILATED. And then the crime scene was(almost)thoroughly cleaned so the killer(s) wouldn't be found out. Then 3 other people take the fall for the crime because they were young, lost, ignorant, and goofy. You may not have liked their characters back then, but they were severely punished for it. And those dead kids did NOT receive justice.

  • Even if these were the right three people. the case itself was botched up to match what people wanted to hear, as opposed to what people needed to hear. The truth. The internet is a beautiful thing, but it can also feed us false info. That's like me believing everything on Facebook. Go OUTSIDE of the computer and look for the ACTUAL REAL INFO.

  • The case itself never added up. Pick 3 troublemakers who fit the profile and BAM! Make a case. Yet evidence never pointed to these young boys. Show me 3 kids who can almost commit the perfect murder and I'll show you a 100% honest justice system.

    Doesn't make sense?

Well, neither did this damn case. And I'm angry three 8 year olds had to die for it. If it were kids, it wouldn't have taken them weeks to find them. Kids are stupid.

  • Seriously, really research what you're talking about before you believe what you see. 15 years on this case and even I know when I'm being hoodwinked. Don't you? I don't respect a response, but even if you reply, I won't be around. I've said everything I needed to say. And I'm old enough to accept that people won't agree with me. I can live with this. Can you??.

  • I'm really looking forward to part 3 and am so joyous that they have been set free.

  • Anyone know when this airs? I know they're adding to the ending because of their release & I know it'll be shown in fall film festivals, but I haven't seen an HBO date. Also, I hope the filmmakers do something to clean up the mess they made with the 2nd film. I mean, now that Mark Byers has been exonerated & even become outspoken about the Three's innocence, he deserves an apology from the filmmakers. As crazy & as odd as he is, a lot of Three supporters treated him like the WMPD treated the 3.

  • @colonelboston Agreed. I was disappointed with the 2nd film because it focused only on Damien Echols. Hello? 2 other kids were convicted and they barely got any screen time. Also way too much attention given to Byers, almost making him out to be the real murderer. Honestly I can't stand the guy and wish they had focused more on the case. I'm looking forward to the third film.

  • @colonelboston I did watch a video with the makers of the documentaries saying it would be out in a few weeks... I hope it is. I realize evidence is now pointing at Hobbs but in my eyes Mark Byers isn't totally cleared of involvement. Come on...the entire second documentary was implicating him and with good reason. I'm not convinced he wasn't a part of it. Just my 2 cents :)

  • @dracorexkittysquad I don't see how Byers could be complicit when the evidence that exonerated the 3 exonerated him as well. From everything I've read about Hobbs & his pal, it just seems to fit. The 2nd film, imo, was nothing more than 2+ hours of conjecture & blameshifting. The 1st film pissed me off because the kids were arrested w/ literally zero evidence; the 2nd film pissed me off because I didn't care for the filmmakers direction (even though, at the time, I too believed in Byers' guilt).

  • @colonelboston I just think Mark is totally capable of losing it all over someone. The alternating missing teeth stories he had after there was said to be bite marks found on the boys. The pure evilness coming from him and his wife I wouldn't be surprised if that house was a chamber of mental and physical abuse for their kid. Terry's attempt to be completely invisible in Paradise Lost is chilling to me now. I just hope for the truth whatever it is.

  • @dracorexkittysquad I never said Byers was a good man. From what I know of the case & the man, Byers is insane, literally. I believe a lifetime of drug abuse coupled w/ his brain tumor is the cause of this: this is not an excuse by any means, just an observation. Now he seems properly medicated & evened out. However, he has done same shady shit (maybe even killed his wife?) & is probably better off locked up somewhere, I just don't think he killed the kids. Plus Hobbs had his teeth removed too..

  • Damien Echols is so fucking attractive, I swear!

  • will metallica be hosting the soundtrack again? if so i hope they close paradise lost 3 with what they opened paradise lost 1 with

  • @TheTripleDeuce32 Sanitarium? I liked that they used several Metallica songs in the 2nd film. I only remember the one song in the first one.

  • @psychicriver from what i remember they used: orion call of ktulu and sanitarium in PL1

  • omg Im more excited about this then anything else at all...... I just rewatched all of the stuff from PL 1-2 and the mini doc from 2008 and the Dateline special in 2010'

Sickest shit of all time.... Arkansas fucking ELECTS PROSECUTERS ?!?!?!?! How are they supposed to ever admit they were wrong?!?!?! Fuck if we are free......

  • I read that this will be on HBO in November, FYI.

  • I can't wait to see this... I gotta say I wasn't sure they'd ever get out...so glad some celebrities got on board towards the end and help push this even more to the public. God Bless Metallica who freely lent their awesome music to the documentaries and supported them. For all it's imperfections and injustices as to how they got released I am overjoyed they are free. Thank God for the people who made these documentaries. Thank God for Mark Byers for acting like a lunatic.

  • Damien Echols in 1992-93 was institutionalized three times. He threatened to kill his girlfriend’s father. He threatened his father with a knife. He threatened to kill his mother by slicing her throat. He threatened to eat his father. He tried to gouge his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend’s eyes out with fingernails he kept sharpened to talons. He tortured and killed cats and dogs. He drank other people’s blood and told a psychiatrist that drinking blood gave him power, made him “feel like a god”.

  • @enigma19833 Could I have the hard evidence of that please? thanks.

  • @enigma19833 bullshit give us the fuckin text documents of that your probably some little asshole who follows blindly ive never heard such retro grade bullshit in my life

  • Can't wait for this to come out!

  • this is gonna be a good docu

  • im not convinced they are innocent, they should have fried the little fags, they wont make it very long on the outside, lots of people have been waiting to get thier hands on these sick fucks, have fun while it lasts you freaks of nature, your time is coming to an end

  • @dawnieh100 I hope you're right, I hope that justice is served.

  • What I find even more fascinating than the crime itself is that celebrites so easily convinced so many people that the WM3 are innocent. I mean even Branch's mother has suggested her ex-husband killed the boys. Really, it should be studied and harnessed for use in the future. I smell a documentary.

  • The West Memphis Three, who have spent half of their lives in prison, are the subject of Berlinger and Sinofsky's classic documentaries Paradise Lost: The Child Murders & Paradise Lost 2: Revelations. A third documentary entitled Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory is due to be released at the Toronto Film Festival.

  • Your posting on a public website of your accusatory comments is absolutely disgusting. We all did things as teens that adults would not participate in their daily lives. Did YOU not ever break a minor law as a child? Perhaps you participated in much more than you lead on... How does it feel, ted818283, to be persecuted without evidence just because of the stupid and immature comments that you make?

  • @tamela1126 The 3 comments I posted aren't accusatory, they're from his medical records as Exhibit 500 during the sentencing phase of his trial--released by his own laywers . His lawyers hoped that the overwhelming evidence of Echols’ mental illness would elicit sympathy and convince the jury to spare him the death penalty.

  • Just because Henry Rollins, one of the Dixie Chicks and Johnny Depp tell you the WM3 are innocent doesn't mean they are.

  • Regardless of what you said they said or what you said they did, your opinions mean jack sh*t. There was NOTHING tying these men to this crime beyond a reasonable doubt and you know it. The lack of evidence, the lack of investigating, and the persecution of citizens because of their social status is simply irresponsible and immoral. These men deserve their freedom, guilty or not. Tho I believe they are not guilty of murder.

  • @tamela1126 The 3 men were not persecuted merely because of their 'social status.' There is evidence linking them to the crime. The police didn't consider them suspects just because of their funny hairstyles and black clothing. Echols tortured and killed a dog--that's a bellwether of a killer!

  • @ted818283 You're retarded, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @GlennBate Are right... why am I retarded? Why don't I have any idea what I'm talking about? What do you know about the crimes that I don't.

  • @ted818283 I know that you're misinformed, there was no evidence that puts any of the 3 men who were released at that place at that time. The police rushed the trial just to find someone to pin it on, I bet if you were the one who wore a metallica t-shirt and had dyed black hair, you'd be the one sitting on death row for the crime.

  • @GlennBate Everyone goes on about how these boys were targeted merely because they were different. Not true. There is evidence linking them to the crime. Also, their alibis for that evening don't pan out. Where were they? Oh, and I was goth before there even was a goth... we were called 'alternative' back then.

  • @ted818283 There is no evidence linking them to the crime. The only evidence the police and prosecutors ever had was a coerced confession by Jessie Misskelly ... who had an IQ of 60.

You do realize that the police also coerced several people to testify against these kids, and all those people have recanted their testimony and stated they were coerced by the police. In one case, a woman had charges against her dropped.

  • @aaronhoffmeyer What you mean to say is there is little physical evidence linking them to the crime, and I've addressed this in other comments. Misskelley is not retarded. He confessed on three separate occasions and was not coerced by the police--in one interrogation you can hear his lawyers pleading with him not to say anything. He knew details of the crime that had not been made public.

  • @ted818283 You need to look up the definition of "retarded" ... Anyone with an IQ below 70 is classified as retarded. Misskelly has an IQ of 60. Brian Holland and Chris Morgan skipped town and went to California right after the murders. Chris Morgan also "confessed" and both failed a polygraph examination about the murders.

The case actually has about 10 characters, any one of which could have committed the murders. The evidence against the Memphis Three pretty much hinged on Misskelly.

  • @aaronhoffmeyer Misskelley is NOT legally retarded. The legal definition for mildly retarded is a score of 50-69. Jessie scored a 72, and on some subtests he scored as high as 88. He's currently enrolled in community college. I don't see how he could do that if he were retarded. Morgan and Holland are not considered suspects, their alibis checked out. The WM3 however do NOT have alibis. And Misskelley didn't confess just once, but THREE times. Once with his lawyer pleading with him not to.

  • @ted818283 They didn't say legally retarded. It was mentioned he was borderline. Borderline is like having high blood pressure 3 points above normal. I Love how you people on here capitalize the word NOT, as if we cant already read the one syllable2nd grade word.

  • @MegaHegira Misskelley's performance score was as high as 88 on earlier IQ tests. There's also evidence to suggest that Misskelley deliberately answered questions wrong in order to make it seem he was retarded. Even if you only look at his score of 72 he's still not even mildly retarded.

    Profound mental retardation: Below 20

    Severe mental retardation: 20–34

    Moderate mental retardation: 35–49

    Mild mental retardation: 50–69

  • @ted818283 Well show us the proof you're talking about, I bet you can't.

  • @GlennBate Well, I can't leave web links in my comments, so here are a few you'll have to Google yourself... Clothing fibers found on the victims' clothes matched fibers in Echols' and Baldwin's homes. Candle wax found at the crime scene matched candle wax found at Echols' home. Blood found on a necklace belonging to Echols was consistent with victim Branch. Like I said, there wasn't much physical evidence linking the teens, but there wasn't much physical evidence linking anyone.

  • @ted818283 That was what the investigators said, there was absolutely no proof that any of those items ever existed in those places.

  • @GlennBate Don't understand what you're saying. Who said this? Which investigators?

  • @ted818283 Proves you don't know what you're talking about. Please go back and do more research.

  • @GlennBate aaaa

  • @ted818283 I can poke holes in everyone of your "pieces of evidence". The clothing fibers, even the prosecution admitted, could have been from a number of articles of clothing at walmart. The candle wax, come on, I can think of at least 3 or 4 candles in my house right now that are blue. As for the necklace, you didn't explain it all. There were two kinds of blood on it. That belonging to Echols and a blood type consistent with Branch, Baldwin and a large percentage of the population...

  • Correction: Blood type of 11% of the population. Trying to answer the phone at work and type, not a good idea...Point remains, the necklace was worn by both Echols and Baldwin. Hence having both of their blood types.

  • @pearljambuff True, the fiber evidence is flimsy, but it's the same sort of evidence WM3 supporters claim links Hobbs to the crime.

  • To: ted18283- The West Memphis Court System, Police Department, and Jury Selection process is a complete joke. I have lived her for appx. 5 years and in NO way am I proud to call myself a citizen. I have followed this trial since I was 13 years old. I am so relieved that these men were released from prison. As you know, or perhaps the ignorance of many Arkansans has rubbed off, "heresay" is not admissible in a court of law, IN ANY STATE.

  • @tamela1126 Quit portraying the citizen and police of WM as bunch of prejudiced backwood rednecks. The police work was solid. The community didn't go after them simply because they liked heavy metal and wore funny cloths.

  • He talked about getting his girlfriend pregnant, then using the baby as a human sacrifice. He claimed to be possessed by a spirit and to converse with demons.

  • @ted818283 So?

  • He threatened to eat his father. He threatened suicide regularly, by hanging himself or drinking bleach. He tried to gouge his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend’s eyes out with fingernails he kept sharpened to talons. He set fires at school and burned himself. He cut himself with knives. He tortured and killed cats and dogs. He drank other people’s blood and told a psychiatrist that drinking blood gave him power, made him “feel like a god”.

  • Echols was extremely disturbed and violent. He was institutionalized three times in the year before the murders. He made a suicide pact with his girlfriend. He threatened to kill the girlfriend’s father. He threatened his father with a knife. He threatened to kill his mother by slicing her throat.

  • @ted818283 So?

  • Paradise III : About Fucking Time.

  • After all of these years, they have been vindicated. PRAISES!!!

  • @freefoxyknoxy69 So why is Amanda Knox innocent then...Foxy Knoxy? So why should they "free" her? What makes her better than these guys, her upper middle class standing...Oh no, a college girl couldn't do such a thing and I do believe that they did find DNA evidence on her, but NOT on these men. Maybe you should move to Italy and fight her case...

  • @freefoxyknoxy69 It's a little more complicated than that it's an "alford plea" meaning they recognize the state can convict them but they still maintain their innocence. They can still clear their name. It's the states fault and offered them this out of fear because they didn't want to admit they were wrong. It's on paper that the case is closed, but they are out of prison ONLY because the state knows they are innocent.Plain and simple. They only did it to get Damien off death row

  • @freefoxyknoxy69 Wether or not they made a plea saying "we plead guilty" it was neccesary in the end because a mans life was at stake. There is a difference between whats on file and what they maintain. On file they entered and "alford plea" but will never admit guilt to what they did because they didn't do it. They did what they had to do to save an innocent mans life and get three innocent men out of jail.

  • Common sense is clearly lacking here. The new claim is that Hobbs and a friend killed these three boys. Wouldn't one try to run just as stated in Misskelley's ADMISSION? I guess if Vedder, Depp, and Maines come to admitted criminals aide that makes one innocent???

  • @hartreturn1 wow, very uneducated comment

  • @hartreturn1 Have you even watched or seen anything to do with this case? because from your uneducated comments it seems not. Take your hate elsewhere or your just as bad as the backwards redneck fucks that put these innocent people in prison in the first place.

  • When someone admits to a crime. They usually committed the crime. DNA evidence was pretty much destroyed because of the victims' positions. WAKE UP!!
