I'm so annoyed that I diddn't watched it in the theatre. But I bought the DVD 2 days ago.

And Meryl Streep is a wonderful actress. She became my favourite actress in the last week. She and Nicole Kidman are my absolutely faves. I love and adore them.

it was in 1981, she played a 7 year old Alice. you can buy the dvd online at the broadway theatre archive along with other plays she's done, including Secret Service and Uncommon Women and Others... they're wuite interesting, she's so young in all of them, i enjoy watching her in anything she's so fantastic

Having seen her as Donna and as Miranda Priestly (The Devil Wears Prada), she's good at both ends of the spectrum, from icy stillness to jubilant dance. The "Dancing Queen" scene alone deserves an Oscar nod or two, as that scene summed up the movie's themes - light, bright, cheerful, dance, and plain old fun. It's great that she had a personal connection as well, I think that knowing what the music could do helped the movie be even greater.
