Guys,the American version is still good,but i just like the other version better because it shows her good dancing. Sometimes the only reason i watch the video is to see her dance! Her music is awesome,and she's come far,lets just cross fingers for her! :)
If she's serious about breaking the American market, which is entirely possible for someone like her, she needs a bigger artist to work with, a new management team entirely, and yes, she has to be as comfortable in English as she is in Japanese. There is no way around it. If SM Ent. can get these simple things down, there is hope. Just be aware that Asian artists are not in high demand, by any stretch of the imagination, so it is not surprising that Flo Rida was the best she could get.

I've seen only a couple of her videos because I recognized her name from an Inuyasha song. It's a shame her career in the U.S. was put to a halt. I would love to see more of her work
The best part of her dance scenes were cut out. S.M. sucks they handled her entire American debut wrong. She could have gone far. I hope they try again, this time with a better strategy.

BoA (music video is about boa so ill say boa)> great dancer and back up dancer cant catch up with her, top singer in her country, prodigy, multi lingo, etc. He got fans NoT by seduction (body & face)
English isn't her mothertongue (as it isn't mine either), but as long as I can tell what she's saying without needing subs, I think her pronouncing is great!
Perfect! She's a close-to-perfect-dancer, perfect look, fluent/perfect pronounciation and seem to be so down to earth, reflected and works hard. Hope she can be renowned world wide, but to say the least, BE HAPPY =D She's awesome, and I wish the Americans could see that, the whole world in fact. Strange enough, it was BoA who introduced me to, and made me love K-pop. Hwaiting~!! I know it's hard to succeed in the States, but I believe she can do it! If the americans are smart ebough XP haha

I love BoA, but I really don't think sment did a good job picking songs for her American debut. The US doesn't listen to music that is this *obviously* digitalized. That's why BoA only charted for dance music; this kind of stuff is not in the pop genre for the US. =P

The American pop scene is very innovative these days, with lots of composers and strange personalities shining through artists' music. Take Lady Gaga and Ke$ha for example: they both write their own music, and their styles are distinctive. It's not the same with BoA. Her style is--in all truth, despite how much I love it--not as unique as Gaga's or even some of Rihanna's more recent work. (continued)
@damantaray - (continued) Also, Americans tend to like thicker, stronger voices, e.g. Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Katy Perry, etc. I'm not saying all successful American artists have those thicker voices, but many more American artists than Korean artists have them; BoA's is lighter.
Besides, at the end of the day, it's just harder for an Asian to make it in the States. The US is 4% Asian. The US isn't very open to culture importation; they just export their own culture.

I don't down talk the U.S. though. Yes there are some corrupted people in the U.S.A, but does that mean there aren't any corrupted people in other countries. Don't take for granted your freedom. If you don't like the U.S.A then switch lives with someone from Africa, or the Philippines :T

I heard about BoA a few years ago when I lived in New York but I never tried her music out because I wasn't into foreign music then. But now that I'm in love with K-pop BoA has now become one of my favorite artists! ^_^

I'll admit I see where the director was going here. She emphasized more of what the song was about versus how the Korean version accents the hard core beat with the video not showing how the song is kinda sexual but the director did a really poor job of accenting on her vision and from what I can gather from both BoA is a really strong dancer and the director should have taken that and used it.
A lot of people in Asia imitate or become westernized, the term "American" is incorrect. But it's like saying how westernized videos try to add "culture" to their videos. Theres no copying, it just how things work.

She can dance and they're not 'imitating' at all. They do try to get popular in countries that aren't just their home countries, but they aren't imitating at all. They aren't always singing in English, usually there's just a few words sung in English and for your information a lot of them can spell. You need to learn how to use grammar.

@tj5553 While it may be true English or dancing was invented in the US, it's hard to argue that certain aren't hugely influenced by US artists...especially when they cite as their hugest influences Michael and Janet jackson...copying, Idk, but imitating...of course. And it's not about imitating Americans, it's about imitating the most successful international artists...which happen to be well, American.
I like this video just as good as the other one. This video just gives another point of view. She's pretty, her english is wonderful, and I love everything she does.

i don't really like this album, it's too... clubbin...or something, her older songs are better, the melodies in her songs were catchy and she really had more of an opportunity to bring out her great voice. I'll admit I see where the director was going here. She emphasized more of what the song was about versus how the Korean version accents the hard core beat with the video not showing how the song is kinda sexual but the director did a really poor job of accenting on her vision and from what I can gather from both BoA is a really strong dancer and the director should have taken that and used it.

A lot of people in Asia imitate or become westernized, the term "American" is incorrect. But it's like saying how westernized videos try to add "culture" to their videos. Theres no copying, it just how things work.

She can dance and they're not 'imitating' at all. They do try to get popular in countries that aren't just their home countries, but they aren't imitating at all. They aren't always singing in English, usually there's just a few words sung in English and for your information a lot of them can spell. You need to learn how to use grammar.

@tj5553 While it may be true English or dancing was invented in the US, it's hard to argue that certain aren't hugely influenced by US artists...especially when they cite as their hugest influences Michael and Janet jackson...copying, Idk, but imitating...of course. And it's not about imitating Americans, it's about imitating the most successful international artists...which happen to be well, American.

I love the song and I love the Cha Version waaaay better than this. They shouldn't work with that director anymore. Seemed Really Amateurish The Moonscape concept might have been good if she kept it dark. But it seemed really....plain..like something a first timer with a video editing program would make. i don't really like this album, it's too... clubbin...or something, her older songs are better, the melodies in her songs were catchy and she really had more of an opportunity to bring out her great voice. In this album, i'd say the beats and sounds overpower her singing and some of the songs' melodies aren't that good :/. still got love for ya BoA T.T

I could see why BoA didn't do too well in the USA. It's like someone who was Asian trying to make pop music. She didn't give the impression she was that Korean star TAKING OVER THE USA! She assimilated... well SMENT made her assimilate too much.
Korean stars have better fashion anyway... I hope they try again in the future, but actually bring Korean flavor and not make Korean-American food! if you get my .. metaphor.. lol
