I knew Duncan as a baby, and to see his reaction at scoring all i could think about was his father Alan who died not long after his birth, his dad was one of the best, fantastic guy, someone i often think about even now.
i remebered this, i was in the pub with my famo and i asked them to put it on i was in my kit and everything :) good memories :) southend till i die xx
the reason we took so less is, that we had two previous Ldv vans final and most people couldnt afford to make three trips to cardiff, i was gutted i went to both ldv finals and lost both but simply couldnt afford the third trip
when we all saw juppy making that run there was only one result. it was like you could see him running and you knew that we were going to get what all that seasons performances deserved.
best day of my life mate and i went to peterborough, bury, swansea etc............!
i was there, i was at all 3 millenium stadium visits, this was a magic moment but not as good as winning the league the season after or even better than that beating Man Utd, Wembley this season maybe???
what gr8 tyms we had then bk in the old days duncan jupp mark bently wayne gray and cant forget FREDDY EASTWOOD we make young players, starts like micheal kightly. COMMON YOU SOUTHEND!!!!!!!!
thanks southend for freddie eastwood he can be a legend. he looks the real deal.
if any southend fans would like updates on his progress by a proper fan let me know.
the last ex southend forward i saw was playing for notts forest a mr s collymore was his name and he took this piss out of us . He scored two by half time went off after 60 minutes, that display was awesome.
I went to both of the LDV finals and unfortunatly we lost both so we decided not to go to the play off final but i wish we did, Juppy netting his first goal in his carer for 10 and a half years had to be the best highlight for me.
i was there 2, amazing thing was we only had around 6,500 there for what was a massively important game, whereas we took nearly 20,000 for the meaningless Vans Final a month earlier. It was understandable the year before against Blackpool, because it was our first ever final appearance, but Im still mystified to this day, why we took so few. Great day though.
@savethesnail we have loads of players that can score, hall,Harris,Dickinson, mohsni,Phillips,Leonard, timlin,Gilbert, corr,Ferdinand
