Thank you, James, for letting me know that was the funny guy Andy Griffith. I'm not much of a movie guy, because I'm blind, but there are exceptions, like "A Christmas Story--best Christmas movie ever made, and high on the list of best movies ever, with "Airplane, "Field of Dreams," and "Willie Wonka," the Gene Wilder version of course. "No Time for Sergeants," was the one Griffith movie I ever watched even part of.
That sounds like the comedian Andy Griffith, but I can't be sure. Do you know if it's him? I wouldn't have thought he would be much of a singer, though I know Jim Nabors was.
@musicmandon1 Darn tootin' it's Andy. Yes, he could (and still does) sing (You should hear his version of "House of the Rising Sun").. Not only that, this song is from a really good movie (A Face In the Crowd) about a country boy hobo who becomes a popular TV star and in the process a kind of monster--check it out if you've never seen it.
Great song and nice record player you have.

It would have been nice if Barney Fife would have joined him in this song. maybe even Floyd and Goober.

First time I'm hearing this song sung by Andy Griffith. He gave such a great performance in that movie, I thought he deserved an Oscar for it!!
