  • Thanks for the video. just picked up a used T120 myself. Now go get some Robitussin!

  • you really like the pitch shifter don't you

  • Nice AMP brother, thanks for sharing

  • Tried to finish watching this but the coughing got so annoying I had to stop.

  • @GreenwichMusic Sorry to hear that.

  • @fru1tbooter14 Is there a plug on the back where one could plug in an additional speaker cabinet?

  • I have a Boss GT-10 processor. I wonder how it will perform with this amp. The reason I am asking is because I'm continually hearing about these Sanpera pedals. What is the story with them ? I started testing out newer amplifiers and this amp kinda caught my ear and "yes", I too, chose it over a Line 6 ? Are the Sanpera's a must or will my GT-10 perform just as well as with my other amps ?

  • @Ranger11413 I wanna know that too dude, I have I have a vypyr tube 120 with sanpera II, but I hate sanpera II... I play in concerts and its kinda annoying, even the tuner. So my question is: can I use other pedals in this amp or it only works with sanpera?

thank you I hope someone answer.

  • @TheOsizz only works with the Sanpera

  • What's the difference between solid state or tube or tubes?.. whatever. & let's say if you're playing a clean tone & you need your distortion, then your lead.. How does that work? 3 simple clicks or you have to go through your settings/banks?

  • @FatherStarr Solid state amps generally don't have that oomph to the sound, and they tend to sound very digitally processed. Tube amps have a much richer sound. You need to turn tube amps up much louder to get the full tone of them though. that's where the "hybrid' aspect of this comes into play. The vypyr can have pretty good tones at low volumes also.

  • @FatherStarr As far as the switching goes, there are numerous banks stores in the sanpera. Each bank stores 4 presets. Each preset is controlled with the buttons on the sanpera. So you can store whichever tones on each preset. It's really handy.

  • Opeth <3

I have the solid state 75w Vypyr and was thinking of getting this as my next amp, should i?

  • @HavxHHH Yeah dude, I love mine. No complaints whatsoever so far, and I've had mine over a year now.

  • @fru1tbooter14 in this video what are you using to record? just a camera? and Have you messed with the 6505 setting? I mostly use the 6505 on my vypyr 75w and I was wondering if the tube amp would have a better overall sound

  • @HavxHHH I was just using a camera in this video. I don't have a microphone to properly record it. I believe I used the Dual Rectifier setting for this video. the 6505 model sounds great though. It doesn't have as much oomph as I'd like it too, but then again I haven't even tried to dial in a good live tone with it so I have no room to talk about it.lol. I use the 6505 for low volume situations because it's high gain mode sounds so good at low volumes too :)

  • is this better than the line 6/bogner spider valve??

  • @stevestizzy I now have the Line 6 Spider 4 75 Watt and I've to say the amp is great if you don't crank up the volume button. If you want to play live, I have to say the amp isn't perfect. This amp (my teacher says) is waay better that any Line 6 (for louder playing). I think Im gonna buy this one as my live amp and have the Line 6 for at home. Hope this helps you

  • Have you ever compared this to the digital version? I tried the solid state one, and it sounds like crap.

  • @Therium1 I have never directly because I generally try to play anything tube over solid state. bu the few times I've played the solid state, it didn't sound that bad, but the tube version just goes way beyond it.

  • great video! i didnt know about the sanpera

  • Stopped at 2:20. The coughing is too annoying.....

  • I just picked up the Sanpera II and the Vypyr 120 Head. So far I love it. You should see a doctor about that cough. You are sick.

  • That sounds freakin good! Is it capable to play in small/medium gigs?

  • @DrugsOfPeace Of course

  • @DrugsOfPeace it could play a fucking arena

  • np dude. Btw i notice you have your post gain past 12 o clock, and you also mentioned it being ridiculously loud...try dialing the post gain to about 9 to 10 o clock position and then compensate by cranking the master volume up. I dunno about you but i found this retained the heaviness when palm muting and such, but the actual notes came out much more natural sounding with far more dynamics. I only discovered this today actually ..had this amp for a year now, and it blew my sox off just now lol

  • @Clusterfuck66 Yeah, I uploaded this about a year ago when I first got it. That's definitely one of the key things with any tube amp. It sounds more full as well

  • Not sure this video if very good for promoting the amp. Sounds like complete shit to me.

  • I played this amp at music go round i was impressed but im not much into modeling amps

  • Between the buried and me 1:30-2:00?

  • @FeelgoodCriss yessir. Mirrors, off of The Great Misdirect

  • 1:23 Mirrors?

  • @asmithgdci Indeed :)

  • need moar cigs?

  • @StringzOfFury I don't smoke, but water and some antibiotics should fit the bill, lol

  • SKIN O MY TEETH!!!

  • Thanks for the in depth video on the amp.... played one at guitar center a month ago and fell in love with it.... I'll be picking it up within a few months.... just a quick question for you.... does it have a good noise gate? That's the problem I always find with these amps is that the noise gate isn't very good.... The tones are killer though... does it have a line out for an additional speaker cab?? Thanks for the info! Nice playing by the way:)

  • Nice vid. I keep coming back to these modeling amps because of their shear versatility and the fact they've gotten so much better. It boils down to this amp and the bigger fender mustangs. Have you or anyone played both and if so what are your opinions? Thx!

  • 6:10 Redneck :DD \m/

  • I know most if not all digital amps sound like crap at gig volumes, how does this sound cranked up?

  • @TheMandrakeNeverDies So far, I've been able to get incredible sounds out of it at just about any volume. I haven't dared turn it up past 10 though, haha. the amp is LOUD and sounds good either way. you just have to know how to dial in a good tone and have in mind what volume you will be playing it at. lower volume/higher gain and vice versa etc.

  • @TheMandrakeNeverDies usually a tube or hybrid amp(especially hybrid amps) sound better with volume. you might have to turn down the gain a little though because tubes will naturally distort with volume.

  • Hey, nice demo! I was wondering if you had any kind of electronic problems with it since you got it. I heard it's not so reliable, and that's mainly why i haven't got one yet.

    Thanks!

  • @DomHorfixion I haven't had a single problem with it so far. I recently found out that I was starting the amp up wrong and I'm really surprised I didn't damage the tubes or anything like that. But mine works perfect so far. Nothing bad to report about it.

  • @fru1tbooter14 Thanks, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna get one now :P

  • hahah the joe satriani model is like all I use, riffing and soloing its probably the best ive found in this amp

  • skin o my teeth \M/

  • BTBAM ftw

  • yes there are another midi controler pedals that work with the vypyr tube but i heard they hard to program also, i mean hard to get all the features as the sanpera have, im wating on my tube 69 and sanpera 1, hope it all goes well :) its for home mostly so i decided to go with the tube60 instead new 6505+ combo

  • what kind of guitar are you playing?

  • @DEBOSfilms This was filmed with my LTD MH-103qm, all stock pickups

  • Dude you pretty damn good. How does it perform at low volumes? Does it sound good with the headphones because we all get that itch to play at 10PM but don't wanna wake the house. Thanks for any feed back

  • @WageASPSlaves Thanks man! It actually sounds pretty good at low volumes. Because it's part digital it can still create really good tones at room level. The Headphones sound pretty good. not the best though. One thing that bugs me is that they used a standard 1/8in jack for the headphones instead of a 1/4in jack. The headphones are really easy to pull out of the jack, and once it pulls out.....not a pretty sight. I'll just say that it happened to me and I thought my parents were going to kill me

  • megadeth=yessssss

  • Between The Buried And Me :D

  • Nice demo....I have the same amp, and actually wonder why there arent as many demos on here. I do have one beef with the Sanpera pedal though....As I'm a live player , I was hoping it wouldve made it easier to switch between presets!! Having to scroll during a gig, AINT gonna work !! I havent tried it yet, but do you know if another midi controller pedal with preset buttons would work with the Vypyr amp?....

  • @rcrinlv02 Honestly man, I have no clue. If you poke around the peavey forums I'm sure they could probly provide you with an answer. If you find out though, let me know, I'd be interested in trying out a new way to switch things.

  • @fru1tbooter14 I ended up selling it...too many disappointing things to list.

  • Or, hell, buy a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier and never buy another amp again.

  • @CyValkarion yeah, if you've got few grand to throw around, go for it.

  • @fru1tbooter14 ha, no shit. But there's a guy locally selling a triple recto head for $1200. If I had the money I'd buy it right away, along with an early Fender HM Strat. Just run it through a hot plate and hook it up to a Marshall cab and you're good to go.

  • what is the diffirence between the tube and the non tube(sound quality?)

  • @mc2alfawolf The non-tube version has a noticably dryer, more digital sound to it. It's a bit difficult to explain in words, but the tube version has a much fuller, warmer sound compared to the non-tube version. The Non-tube version, I would recommend for bedroom practicing. But if you plan on playing with a band or recording anything i would recommend the tube version for a much higher quality sound.

  • @mc2alfawolf that chug chug sound on those palm mutes will sound a million times better on a tube amp. just a much more clean crunch to it. and urs solo's will be much brighter. i think this is the amp for me next.

  • @angodeath k thx i now have a non-tube version but im gonna buy a tube version as soon as i have the money

  • hi...I think that the review is quite good, and no there aren't enough videos for this amp really...not the 120 anyways.

Not a really bad thing, but I think in more videos that you may do....reverb is too much. Decrease it, or if you do some more Metal type things..cut it completely.

No offence intended....thanks for the reviews.

    : )

  • Lamb of God ftw!

  • do you get hum when you put the pregains and post gains on full for the clean green channels?? i get terrible hum on my vypyr 60 and i need to return it and am looking for the vypyr 120 instead

  • Dude you rock. like, seriously.

    1. What guitar is that?

    2. Does the amp have a Whammy pedal effect?

    3. How does the MOG sound?

That amp sounds amazing. I'm totally gonna buy one with the Sanpera II.

  • @CyValkarion @CyValkarion 1. I was using my LTD Mh130-qm all stock pickups.

    2. No it does not have a whammy effect, or a kitchen sink, but it has pretty much everything else.

    3. The MOG sounds pretty much like the POG as far as I can tell. You can do pretty much everything that the POG can do as far as I can tell. granted I have not messed around very much with a POG, but it sounds good from what I can tell.

This amp is really good for the value, especially when coupled with the sanpera II.

  • @fru1tbooter14 oh okay. thanks. I decided i'm not gonna buy it. it's more solid state than it is tube so I'll just go buy a Mesa Boogie on eBay or something and buy a pedalboard and load that with EHX effects. I tried one of these in store though and it was pretty cool, but i found out that this high voltage sucks .-. It's better to go with something low voltage (like <40W) to get natural distortion with the volume without having to make your ears bleed. Not that there's anything wrong with that

  • @CyValkarion What kind of camera are you using here?

  • @InfiniteBlue00 i think you asked the wrong person. XD

Anyway, I decided I'm NOT going to get this amp. Might as well get an AC15 and put some effects through it. It'll sound a lot better since the amp is all tube instead of hybrid.

  • @InfiniteBlue00 I am using a Kodak Zi8 camera. I think i was shooting in the 720p 60/fps mode. I'm not too sure
