@ynnadnnyl Its not that he's not "for real" its that his "survival techniques" are too flashy & over the top to be safely practical. Much of the things he does in his show are simply too dangerous to be used in potentially life threatening circumstances. Bear's show is more of a hollywood style show, Les's is more like of an instructional documentary. Plus Bear has a crew of 4-7 people following him at any given time, anyone who's truly experienced the wild knows loneliness is half the battle

I think the Les Stroud fans like him because they like the down to earth nature of the show.

I think Bear Grylls fans like him, not necessarily for the show but for his obvious accomplishments and expertise.

That's why there are so many arguments, Les fans hate bears show because of the dramatics, and Bear Gryls fans cant understand how people think Les is more of an expert. The fact is, he's not, but alot of people prefer his show.

haha my bad to make it short. me and a few friends decided that it would be a good idea to do this with some sand stones that we found around a creek because of how cold it was that night. we left them in there forgot about them and about 2 or 3 hours later we were all relaxed around the fire when one of the rocks exploded sending hot embers and chunks of rock flying in all directions mainly towards me.
