cod4 set a standard for online fps games with it's easy accessibility to the average gamer and with that it opened up the eyes and brought in more fans to the fps genre. i would say halo did the same but halo isnt multi platform. killzone did nothing special to set itself apart from an average fps other than the fact that it just looks pretty

lol M.A.G barely has any lag at all, in fact the only way you'll experience it is if you have a crappy connection :P And yes I have played the beta and the respawn times are long sometimes, but it just depends when you die. The gameplay is fine btw much less campers than in MW2 XD

The spawn times are a maximum of 20 seconds. As far as lag.. you have no idea what you're talking about because a lot of people are having connection issues at the moment. Mostly problems spawning, ghosting, things like that.
