  • Amen,John MacArthur is a great teacher,I love him and been following him for many years, thanks for sharing,God bless you my friend,I have not heard this video series in a long time, thanks, ill post this one,its a keeper.

  • Good stuff John.

  • the rest of the passage:

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11

Also see Ephesians 2:1-13, Philippians 2:11-12

  • Just One sin can seperate us from Jesus and Heaven, Just ONE! so don't say that the Bible doesn't teach eternal security, because every christian sins (maybe not wilfully) but every day. So every christian would loose their salvation the same day they accepted it.....saved, loose it, save again, loose it etc. etc. No! It's either Him that saves us & keeps us, or it's us trying to earn it by good works...Look at Matt. 7:22 many wonderful works (The proud religious people).

  • It is ironic to me that those who believe in their eternal security will be cast out by God. They came to the Lord confident...saying Lord, Lord.....and listed the good spiritual things they had done. They believed they were eternaly secure...but what did that false belief get them?

  • @prairiemark Wrong my friend these in Matt. 7:21-23 were talking about the Proud, the religious. The bible teaches eternal security: Jude 24, Eph.1:13,14 we were "sealed", and vs.14 the Holy Spirit is are down payment untill we are glorified. If we did Nothing! to earn salvation, then We can do Nothing (in and of ourselves) to keep it! It's either ALL JESUS from start to finish or none of him. John 10:27-29 Read it. Christ Jesus saved us, keeps us, and glorifies us.

  • @Race2211 The doctrine of so called "eternal security" has been debated by several groups for hundreds of years. You can quote your favorite verses that support it, others have their favorite verses that seem to refute it. The majority of Christians throughout church history and the majority of persons proffessing Christs today believe it is possible to fall from grace. Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodist, Much Charismatic and Pentecostals and anabaptists sects believe this

  • @Race2211 My point here was meant to be that many people who believe they are eternally secure will be lost. Even those who believe they are securely in Christs Grace can be lost. This is the point of this scripture.

  • @Race2211 ......look at the context of Jude 24....it come after verses 20&21........where it tells the Christians to "build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in Gods love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life." If we can do nothing regarding our eternal destinity why does Jude tell us to build ourselves up in the faith, and to keep yourselves in the love of God?

  • @prairiemark Jude is stirring the hearts of believers to spiritual growth, of course there's a connection between God's soveriegnty and man's responsibity. Ultimately, it's God @ work in us as we go about spiritual business, even when we stray in the deep stuff,He's gracious enof to grieve our conscience even as the Spirit grieves. So we groan and r eager to obey Him,that's part of our journey here. Ultimately, our obedience/works r the fruit of His work in our inner man. We dare not praise we.

  • @Race2211 Amen, I'd be hard pressed to find a truly saved and regenerate believer that can dare to say their works will see them through. Even MacArthur would agree with this. Grace saved us, grace will sustain us.

We died to self so He lives in us, working in and thru us & He gets the glory. We were bought by His blood, sealed/betrothed by His Spirit and will be fully one with Him @ the marriage supper. All our works r the outworking of the indwelling Christ. Glory 2 God!!!

  • @prairiemark Mate, MacArthur himself believes in eternal security, there's plenty of scriptures that point to it but I fear what u r saying is misguided. Simply put, grace saved us, grace will sustain us. This sermon is actually about awakening the sleeping saints & @ the same time challenging those that have been duped into salvation by not actually having grasped saving faith. The Lord knows His sheep and no one can snatch them out of His hand. The works are the fruit, the root/tree is Christ.

  • @prairiemark You still can't see the simplicity of God's grace, building up in Jude is meant: to strenghthen each other NOT some how (WORKING) -bearing fruit that justifies us. You mentioned a whole slue of religious groups that YOU say disagree with eternal security. Roman Catholics are NOT born-again christians; They are a idolitris pagen religion that prays to idols, petifiles, and think that mary is co-mediatorics, she is NOT! I Tim. 2:5. Continued.....

  • @Race2211 I fear that you are a stranger to TRUE REGENERATION, if you think that YOU have to DO (bare fruit) to keep yourself justified in God's grace. Maybe you need to read Galatians about 5 times. Who has bewitched you, after you accepted God's grace of salvation to fall back into observing the law. You really don't understand GRACE!!! for ANYTHING that you add to it is an insult to Christ finished work on the Cross. Read Isaiah 64:6 & filthy rags in that verse is translated -minstral cloth.

  • @Race2211 Sorry, your pride and righteous attitude make it hard to see how spending a lot of time interacting with you would be profitable for either of us.......

  • @Monstergoat66 Yes, we will! Not by our own merit, but because of him who justifies and keeps us.Prause the Lord!!

  • @GodLovesUs100 Praise the Lord, never on our merit but on the finished work of Christ.

    Grace to you!!!

  • @segadavid1 Amen and amen.Glory be to the never changing God now and forevermore!

    Grace to you as well

  • McArthur is acting like you either have to earn your way to heaven by your works or that if you have "true saving faith" God will basically turn you into a robot who cannot commit any sin or make any mistakes. Is that even possible? Do any of you all know anyone living today who does not sin or screw up from time to time?

  • @cubeus19 No and I don't and that is not what John is saying at all.Regeneration or being made a new creature(born again or born from above) is a powerful, supernatural work of God whereby he actually changes the very core of ones being and turns them from the darkness to light.Christians can and do sin for we are still in unredeemed and fallen flesh but our new self is constantly being shaped and molded into the image of Christ and we are constantly growing in holiness and sanctification

  • @cubeus19 which is a process that happens all through the life of the Christian until the receive glorification and are conformed perfectly to Christ's image. it is all a work of the Lord and marvelous in our eyes, praise his name for he is so wonderful and wise!

  • @cubeus19 Yeah, but a Christian "hates" sin. They are growing in holiness, and sinning less, and less, not to say we don't sin. Not intentionally, a new attitude we have. And those past sins we done, we turn away from, we don't want too walk down that road no more, we know it's "our" sins that put Him on the cross. Or you can say it drove the wedge (the nail) between us and Him. 1 John. Maybe even Romans 6. Maybe that helps? :)

  • I have one issue with the image at :40, according to calvinism, it isn't because they reject God, it's that they were not chosen. That is what it should say.

  • @Natester27 Well actually it's because they have broken God's law and deserved to be punished for that.Any man, if left to himself, will not choose God because that man is a slave to sin, which has tainted even his very will and desires. God is not obligated to save anyone for all deserve Hell.He can, if he please, choose an elect group of people and give them to his Son, and only by God's intervention and supernatural power will they be saved and believe.

  • @GodLovesUs100 Elect is a group of God's chosen people, not as individuals though. The Jews were once The Elect, does that mean that every Jew is saved because they were God's chosen people? No, But now through Jesus, ALL MEN can have that same blessing promised to Abraham and his seed and can be part of the "Elect through their faith in Christ, by their own free will. But you say that a man cant choose God of his own will?, Read Jn 5:40, Rom 1:18-21, Matt 23:37, Jos 24:15

  • @Natester27 Well actually the Bible tells us not all of Israel was Israel, throughout history, only a few people in Israel were the true people of God.Like the people God kept for himself that never bowed a knee to Baal."What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking.THE ELECT OBTAINED IT, but the rest were hardened,"Romans 11:7.I said a man's will is tainted by sin. The Bible says " no one seeks after God", so then, how does anyone seek him and get saved? He firsts seeks after them!

  • @GodLovesUs100 God rewards those who diliganlty seek Him, right,? But you will say, God makes them seek Him. Was not Noah righteous and blameless? And that he walked with God? But you might say, God forced him to or drew him with "Irrisistable Grace". Let me ask you, God wanted to destroy it because of the evilness of mankind, right? Well, in that case, why did He not force EVERY ONE, or at least a few more than Noah, to want to serve Him? And not have bothered destroying the Earth.

  • @Natester27 Yes.Like I said to you, the Bible says 'NO ONE SEEKS AFTER GOD"!!! So then, we've got quite a dilemma here.God draws a person unto himself and changes them so that they WANT to seek him, not unwillingly do so.And your next point assumes that because I believe God is Sovereign, I understand his whole counsel. Not so.However, we are told in Romans 9 that he has mercy on WHOM HE WILLS, and hardens WHOM HE WILLS, and I have no right to question his will.

  • @GodLovesUs100 But I do not wish to debate this matter any further, I can see you have done your homework, and I commend you for your passion and zeal for the scriptures, but I wish to leave you with one last thought...Calvinism teaches that a man CANNOT come to God of his own free will, and it also teaches that he also has to believe that he was chosen/predestined to believe. So...Then ask yourself this, why are there so many noncalvinist Christians out there...

  • @Natester27 And I appreciate your commendation my friend. It is not my intention to be rude to you or oppress you in any way.But I do feel there is a major danger today in trying to disprove Calvinism without even understanding what it even teaches. I pray the Lord will lead you to understand the doctrines of grace, they are so lovely and it is great to know the Lord our God is the one who is in charge and we can depend on him, praising him for his amazing grace :)

    God bless and keep you.

  • @GodLovesUs100 You are absolutely right, God in fact did Harden them in Romans 11:7, BUT WHY? Read verse 11, 22, 23 then it will makes sense. I ask then, What happened to Unconditional Election, or Irrisistable Grace? As Calvin taught. why does God have to make them Jealous to want to come and not just force them. But I can see you believe what you believe, and you certainly can blame me for my choice, after all, perhaps I am not chosen and God has rejected me.

  • @Natester27 God draws unto himself his elect, the means by which he does that is up to him and not for me to explain. He was the one that hardened their hearts and likewise he was the one to open the heart of the elect who did believe.Again, regeneration is a process whereby ones heart is changed so that they WANT TO COME, not are forced to even though they do not want to. Yes, Jesus taught a man cannot come to him unless the Father who sent him draws him, did he not say that? Again, our will

  • @Natester27 is tainted by sin, we are slaves of sins before we come to Christ, and the Bible says we are dead and our sins and do not seek after God. This is clear in the scriptures. But the Absolute Sovereignty of God has always excited the hatred of prideful men.Even for Christians who do accept it like myself, it is a daily struggle to put to death the pride of the flesh and submit to the will of God.Oh that he would give us the grace to obey!

  • @Natester27 Jesus said no one could come to him unless they were drawn by the Father. He told people they did not believe because they were not his sheep that is, his elect chosen before the foundation of the world. When God regenerates an individual, that person then seeks after God and obviously does want him and sees their need for him.But that cannot happen if one is dead in sin.How can a dead man walk through a Narrow Gate? He can't unless first he is raised to life

  • hey john macarthur - all that call upon the name of the lord will be saved. not by works. thank you god for your son jesus. John is smart. i am not. not everyone can grasp the reading comprehension of the bible but i can grasp that scripure in the bible. how then john shall we be saved?

  • @kenndogg51 What John really teaches is that it is God's choice to save you, you have no free will. It is called calvinism, it teaches that God has already decided who is saved and who is damned.

  • @Natester27 thats only half true. Gods plan of predestination is so that he recieves the glory when someone recieves Jesus. the glory belongs to him. Nothing in sinful man would ever (in himself) ever point towards God unless God makes the first move. He wants relative persons, not lawful robots. see? thats why the gospel is good NEWS, not Good ADVICE. simple as dat.

  • hey john macarthur - all that call upon the name of the lord will be saved. not by works. thank you god for your son jesus. John is smart. i am not. not everyone can grasp the reading comprehension of the bible but i can grasp that scripure in the bible.

  • hey john macarthur - all that call upon the name of the lord will be saved. not by works. thank you god for your son jesus.

  • I'm worried now. I thought I was saved, I have been baptised, professed I'm a christian but am definately on the list. I thought I was in, but now I don't think so.

  • @jamr31 Then my friend do the next thing and call on him to save you. repent from the sin of the flesh and plead his grace. which delivers ud from sin. Rd Psalms 51. and follow davids lead. And I promise you He will give you that blessed assurance. A new nature, a new Heart , for that is true new birth. Which means to begotten from above. You have faith now act in faith and layhold on His Promises. Seej His promises, beleive on His Promise and ye shall recieve. How will you know? He will make

  • @jamr31 Once you know you;ve been forgiven (which you know is yours for the asking), thank him and ash Him to feel you with The Holy Spirit.. Fear not my little one It is your Fathers GOOD?DEVINE pleasure to give you the keys to the Kingdom.

Arise now calling on the name of the Lordand ye shall recieve the gifts..

  • @jamr31 Many people think and feel the same way. One question: when your friends invite you to go with them and you know they're going to do things you KNOW are wrong, do you go with them and partake? Or does God tell your heart, "don't go" or "don't do it". Are you having sex and not married, same sex partners, or multi-partners? Do you lie (even just a little bit)? The conviction of guilt on your heart will tell you if you're saved or not. That's when you fall to your knees. Sin is Sin

  • @jamr31 ou still worried? Did you read the list in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Or even 1 John. Only God can produce a repent heart in a person that cause them to repent and trust in Him. I just wanted to check in on you and see how you are doing? Let me know?

  • Best preacher I know of

  • If there has ever been a YouTube message which comes close to the importance of these two, I would be extremely surprised. I believe truly listenening to these words carefully, is a great investment for your eternity. John Macarthar needs to be well respected for his courage and boldness to actually tell the bitter truth, truly powerful knowledge.

  • so glad to hear this brave brother being so in truth and direct, this is the truth, may American pastors have lost this boldness and courage to face sin and talk against it.

  • Are you on one of these List? Listen and find out.

  • What Mr. MacArthur is pointing out is not that we are saved by our good works, but that genuine faith will demonstrate good works, or good fruit. Who is good but God alone? Therefore only God can produce good works-- in the hearts of believers who have the indwelling Holy Spirit. There are MANY today that profess Christ but w/o any change to their lives; its the same after profession as before. Are these saved? Where is their fruit? We are saved FOR good works, as Eph, 2:10 states.

    GOD BLESS!

  • Hello John: My comments were in response to things that SimeonForJesus was saying to me & since his comments have been "removed by author" it makes my comments have to stand alone when they were part of a conversation, which makes a difference in how they are perceived.

  • So my question would be, John146only... have you repented enough?

And by the way, we agree on the changed mind definition of repentance. But, going back to John MacArthur, he points his people to their good works as evidence that they are saved, and denies Saving Faith. He wants his people to stop sinning and start doing good works, without realizing that outside of Christ, our Good works qualify us for hell. He has too light a view of sin.

  • Nice... YOU just might be Chaff as well!

I'm not making snap judgments. John MacArthur is an Arminian, who constantly points people to their works as "evidence" of salvation and regularly rejects the Sola "Faith alone". He preaches faith + repentance, in other words, works righteousness, which makes his teaching no better than medieval Roman Catholicism. In fact, Johann Tetsel would be proud of John MacArthur.

  • @waltherchemnitz We r saved by grace + faith just as Moses's righteousness was counted as faith because he believed God. We show outwardly this faith by our actions/works. I c no contradiction in the Bible message + what John MacArthur says

  • Thanks John for your kindness and your wisdom in spiritual understanding.

I also pray for you and yours to have

a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

  • John MacArthur preaches this to his people so that they may look on their good works, believe that their works are good, and sigh with relief that they are doing good works that proves they are saved.

Don't believe me? Go back and listen to this sermon again. The hypocrite will listen to this and say, "yup, my works prove I'm saved", while the broken Christian will hear nothing but condemnation. Think about it. Why would anyone cheer at the preaching of this "truth"?

  • On the rock of obedience of His Word? I like John Macarthurs teaching but I don't like that very much.

  • That's because your new man knows that Jesus tell us "I AM the way, the truth and the life", not "My WAY is the way the truth and the life". This simple distinction is something the likes of John MacArthur simply don't get.

  • It simply takes a new birth!John chapter three.

  • Faith alone saves, but faith is never alone.

  • If you were on trial for being a Christian (born again), would there be enough evidence to convict you?

If you have ever prayed for the salvation of a loved one, or a stranger, with deep caring and concern, you know the Holy Spirit is in you.

All believers sin. Just read Romans 7 and 8. Only in heaven will we be 100% sin free.

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:3

  • Guardian,

Justification and Salvation are two different things that occur at different times, one after the other.... And stop quoting scripture out of its origional context, it making the rest of us look bad =D

  • "By works a man is justified and not by faith only." --James

Faith alone will not justify you before God.

  • no really..

  • Faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ is what saves, the works is the fruit that my faith produces. man has no part in obtaining salvation. By this I mean there is nothing we can do by works to be saved. When James said that faith without works is dead he means that my "so called faith" needs to produce something evidence of such a faith, or it's just dead faith.

  • This.

  • Some say, Faith alone is all that is required for salvation and some of you say Faith and Works is what the Bible teaches. (btw, the latter are correct, ... it's Faith and Works together. Faith without works is dead.)

Luther had no authority to take a period out of the word of God let alone any books. He hated James and didn't want tit in his Bible. Catholics know why.

  • Heb 13:17 KJB

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

There is no true Authority in Protestantism. Once people started disagreeing with Luther and Calvin, they simply started their own Church. This is not what Jesus wanted.

500 years later, 30,000 denoms some say Baptism is necessary for salvation, some say it isn't.

  • You totally ignored this and began rambling.

Does the Bible teach that, it , the Bible itself, is the Christians sole authority, or that the Church that Jesus founded is the Christians sole authority?

The truth, ... the Bible never states that it is the Christians sole authority IT IS NOWHERE WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE. However, IT IS WRITTEN in said Bible that the Church, with its Bishops, Deacons and Presbyters, is the Christians authority.

  • Does the Bible teach that, it , the Bible itself, is the Christians sole authority, or that the Church that Jesus founded is the Christians sole authority.

The truth, ... the Bible never states that it is the Christians sole authority. However, the Bible does claim that the Church, with its Bishops, Deacons and Presbyters, is the Christians authority.

  • The "Rock" that Jesus spoke of was the "TRUTH" that Peter spoke & yes chistians were 1st called that in Antioch shortly after the resurrection. Rome was persecuting them, does it make sense that God would give the murderers control over His Word or His people. NO! They see money & control as their issues & Constantine's order ushered in the "holy roman catholic church "444 ad. So yes, the church that Jesus spoke of & founded is right, to bad it has been so abused by worldly men!! God Bless!!

  • What did John the Baptist say,

Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

    Yah'shua likewise says,

For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Let a man examine himself to see if he is in the faith.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

  • Thanks so much for this powerful message! This is so true and necessary to be heard by as many people as possible!!

  • There are those who love to hate the Catholic Church so much that they will never let the truth get in the way of it.

As God is my witness, you have been deceived by anti-Catholics like John Macarthur and men like him.

God gave mankind the Bible through the Catholic Church. What did those Popes and Bishops have to have to discern which books belonged and which didn't?

THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

HOW LONG DID JESUS SAY THAT HIS CHURCH WOULD HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT?

    TILL THE END OF TIME!

  • PLEEEEEASE, not another catholic-rambler!! We are talking about a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with GOD thru JESUS CHRIST, not a personal relationship with a man who claims to be JC in the flesh, possess real KEYS to heaven & amass sinful WEALTH, turn the cross upside down & keeps Christ nailed 2 the cross. Keep your worldly religion if you want but we are talking about FAITH in JC here right now!! Anything on that to contribute? The Bible we have was from LUTHER, no apocphra!! God Bless!!

  • I have a personal relationship with Jesus. I speak to Him every day.

  • Like Martin Luther, do ya?

Let's see what he said about your Bible.

"We concede -- as we must -- that so much of what they [the Catholic Church] say is true: that the papacy has God's word and the office of the apostles, and that we have received Holy Scriptures, Baptism, the Sacrament, and the pulpit from them. What would we know of these if it were not for them?"

Sermon on the gospel of St. John, chaps. 14 - 16 (1537), in vol. 24 of LUTHER'S WORKS,

St. Louis, Mo., Concordia, 1961, 304

  • Yes, but how did they obtain those scriptures? Jerusalem fell in 70 ad. History says Jerusalem was surrounded with crosses with christians crucified & blood ran knee deep with blood! They murdered the christians & scattered the Jews & took all the scriptures they could! It was an EMPIRE not a CHURCH & it wanted CONTROL. Do u honestly think that God is not capable of getting His WORD out the way HE wants it. WHEN APPLIED, this one works just fine & if u run out of answers then look elsewhere!!

  • U are evil?

  • Btw, didn't Martin Luther removed books from the Bible ignoring the Book of Revelation's warning about removing books from the Bible. Yes, he certainly did.

  • Martin Luther was responsible for translating the latin versionof NT into German. It was from the German that it was translated(ordered by King James) in 1611. The Apocphral books were omitted because they were not considered "God Breathed." All the other books of the Bible make reference to each other. The Apocphral books do not & were compiled during the 400 yr "silent period" when no prophets heard from God. I have Revelation in my KJV. Just excuses not to believe!! God Bless!!

  • Wrong again!!

  • Why do you believe what is in the Bible? Who had the authority to first pronounced the Bible the word of God?

  • Get behind me ye satan!

  • Sorry Simeon, Farm life keeps me pretty busy--I don't spend much time on Youtube. I just mentioned the degrees to show that I wasn't just a poor ignorant sap that happened to end up in a bad church. I could tell you stories all night about the things I've seen in churches & Christian organizations. It's been a struggle to try to forgive. I know that unforgiveness will keep you out of heaven because God forgives us as we forgive others. I removed myself from the situation for awhile to heal.

  • Some of the meanest, stingiest, racist people I know are church goers. I was raised in a mainstream denomination and there wasn't enough love in them to fill an eyedropper and I'm including my immediate family.

The Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) said that the world would know that you are my desciples by your love. God is love, you can tell how much God is in you by how much love is in you and flowing out from you. (Just my thoughts on the supject.)

  • Hi Simeon, I have an AA in Theology & a BA in Christian Missions & was a missionary for several yrs and have preached in many churches and even worked for a world wide ministry (one of the meanest men I've ever met). Of 3 ministers I know well, 1 turned out to be a child molester, 1 a homosexual & the third wanted to leave his wife for another woman. The more I got to see the ugly underbelly of churches & pastors the more I wanted out. Now I raise goats & geese, a much better flock than before.

  • Love is the key. God bless you for your insight!

  • Spectacular!

  • I think perhaps there will be about 20 people in Heaven by the sound of many preachers. Why did Jesus die for us, if not to take away our sins. If we could have been perfect He would not have come to die. Christianity gets very confusing.

  • I appreciate your comment. I encourage you to study the scriptures powerfully because the answers you seek are in them. The reason you are confused (I propose) is because the "American christianity" you are likely surrounded by has gone very far away from the *Bible in which the answer are. I had to literally stop listening to "church people" and start listening to the God and his word.

  • I can tell you that heaven will be unlike anything our sinful imaginations can think of... the bible says that in heaven "the first will be last and the last will be first"---that is to say those who *this world* has rejected and thought insignificant will the most blessed saints in God's view. And those who *man on this earth* uplift and praise as saints, may likely be the lowest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • Heaven, though fully of glory and the most unimaginable Glory for God, will still be righteously sorrowful. For many will not be there, but in perfect and fearful judgment which will end in Hell for all who have not received the *perfect sacrifice of Jesus. No, we can not be *perfect in this life, ***but we can be REDEEMED, my friend! Our salvation is a Process in the fuller plan of God and his Glory! And we are to seek NOW even our FUTURE perfection/glorification because it is so sure to us!

  • Yes, I know what you are saying about not listening to so many people, rather get into the Word of God. That is what I have been doing and it is great.

  • I agree with you on your comment. I also had to get away from the church scene. Its sad to see how people just dont care about christ and what he did for us. People don't need ''church' to have christ in their lives and i wish many other people could see that.

  • Kedorlaomerist I think there is a difference in a sinner i.e. a person who makes it a practice to sin or makes provision to sin. rather than a christian who committed a sin and repents from it. murder is murder but there is 1st degree murder and accidental murder. one deliberately committed the murder the other was an accident. Romans 13:14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

  • kedorlaomerist, what confuses you about it?

  • I think you've hit the nail on the head, my friend. You see, all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Period. McArthur is alluding to those trying to be saved through good works. They never knew Jesus or had a relationship with Him. But, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heard that God raised Him from the dead, you WILL BE saved. This is faith, not works. Anyone who adds additional conditions to this is in bondage to legalism.

  • Comment removed

  • Well said Mr McArthur. You cannot watch porn and pretend to be Christian, or support the killing by the military etc....

  • Er, you don't need a "tower" to get into heaven. You don't need evidence in your life of God to get to heaven. That would be relying on people to be good and do good things and live their life for God to get to heaven, which totally contradicts the grace message, and is impossible. "Restrict yourself"? It doesn't matter what we do, Jesus is our foundation if you accept. Look up 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. Or John 3:16. Righteousness comes from God, not trying to be good.

  • You know when a Preacher is firing off truth...there is never a shortage of those trying to run them down with pitch forks. Some things just never change. When a majority of so called American Christians hate and persecute a Pastor that makes me stop and listen to him

  • AMEN AND AMEN!!!

  • Are you so sure? Because the passage he used from 1 Corinthians, the one that says "Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers...will inherit the kingdom of God" was used out of context. Read 1 Corinthians 6.

  • nice handle

  • Wow...someone said McArthur was a "shallow" preacher. You could levee complaints against McArthur, but "shallow" is about the most inapplicable thing anyone could say about the man. As a pastor myself, I find McArthur to be a refreshing soldier of truth in a world of theological compromise.

  • What a powerful preaching, christians need to hear the truth.Thank you for posting this preaching by J. McArthur.

  • praise God!!!!

  • John MacArthur is the VERY best preacher there is and I've listened to many! That is a fact. Also shows God's great mercy to send such a man of God for such a time as this

  • I pray to the Lord that there is a preacher like that in Singapore who is not afraid to preach the truth

  • John M is one of the best, you should listen to RC Sproul, Albert Mohler, Paul Washer, Jeff Norblit, Michael Horton etc. Don't think you can find any good preacher in Singapore. Many of them in Singapore resort to "entertainment" type of church service to attract people, I guess you have been "converted" that way too.

  • Wow...someone actually preaching the truth!

  • I agree, bc...:)

  • just my opinion, but I think John Macarthur is the best preacher around today
