I wanted to get another EVGA GTX570 (same as I already have) but my motherboard doesn't support SLI :(. Getting a new motherboard and installing another 570.. should I only install my first 570 to begin with, fire up the system then when I am sure everything is fine install the other 570, or could I just install both 570's on the new motherboard straight away. Cheers. (sorry if that sounded a little too repetitive).
Replacing the mother board is relatively straight forward. Lay the new morther board on a paper and mark out where holes are .Then when you get the computer case place the paper in the case and screw in the small standoff on which the mother board sits ,dont forget to remove the paper. Then just place the new mother board in the case and use the screws to secure it in place .With regards to the lagging of the games check what specs are required to run the games it will probably require more mem
@azerskater no if the board is of the same make & model as the original .If you use a another make & model Then the answer is YES. You will need to reload the operating system.
@balventray Back up your data before you attempt to replace the mother board. Then if it does not work you information is safe.If there is only small variation in the replacement board then you might just get away with updating the drivers.
i have an AMD phenom II x4 955 black edition 3.2 GHz, 8m cache and a Nvidia 9500 GT graphics card, my motherboard is ASROCK K10N78M motherboard....
when i play new games it laggs and is jaggerdy....i think its due to my poor quality motherboard....im thinking of upgrading to this....would this be the right thing to do and if so will it stop the lagg/jaggerdy effect in games?
aswell would it be hard to replace my motherboard, ive never done it before?! thanks
@balventray do i need to reinstall windows when changing motherboards? the ne motherboard im getting has the same chipset please get back to me on this
@ohboyhey2k4 you may not need to reinstall windows if the chip set is the same.Try changing the mother board and switch it on that the only way to know. You will probably need to install additional drivers and will most likey ask for the Windows installation cd to install any system files it detects to install.
Every motherboard has a onboard grafics ?
