If you have iMovie, all you have to do is record both parts of you singing and playing. Then extract the audio of the final (both together) and take out just the picture part (by splitting at playhead [ "apple" and "t"] and deleting the clip) of where you sing the harmony and put in the video part of you singing harmony. Ta da!

iMovie hurts me (though I use it for my Youtube videos)because it has only one video line. To splice in shots of you doing the harmonies you usually have to match up the times between both unedited videos and cut and paste the harmony video in and then magically delete the first video until it lines up again. OR, Adobe Premiere makes it much simpler.
