  • Still the best album ever. RIP Syd & Rick.

  • If you can listen to this and not feel anything, you don't have a soul. Simple.

  • How can someone dislike this? IMHO is one of the best songs ever. It gives me the creeps and it moves me everytime I listen to it!

  • Beautiful.

The Beatles are my favorite band, and this is my second.

    Pure beauty.

    *u*

  • I love Antoinette Bianca's version. But it's got to be Clare Torry for me. The way she did it as an improvisation came from the soul and it can't be reproduced. This is a SOUL piece. It's like half rock-legend, half gospel. And I think it's a requiem of some sort.

  • The best intro in the history of the music, absolutely amazing.

  • Awesome tune!

Never get tired of hearing it. .. D

  • This song so ... Eargasmic.

No woman can reach the voice of Clare Torry.

Thanks Richard Wright for this awesome song.

How can this song was think about Death and Horror. Lol.

  • ther must be a problem for this is the second time i wrote something about this video and not 73 ????????????????????? could this be a hackering problem

  • Sorry to say that i'm disgusted not to be able to listen some other songs of this wonderfull album because of the copyrights stories in France, don't know why there's a problem still hoping one day shall be able to do so, sorry not to understand anything about it, except perhaps money

  • This voice is so amazing gets to my guts and want to cry, just lost my angel seven months ago

  • Can someone send me a link for the lyrics to this song? ;)

  • New Floyd fan here, so I was hoping someone could answer this for me. I've heard two versions of this song. This one, and another version with someone talking over it. He's saying stuff like, "I can pull it back if you like" and "I'll be honest fellas, it was sounding great" and it had a cowbell. I think I heard the last one on the Echos album. Why are there two versions?

Also, I've been listening to this album and The Wall obsessively over the last month. :D Such fantastic albums!

  • where did all of the good music go!!! Pink Floyd for life! i don't understand music today, its soo, unmusical, its not even music. Dark Side of the Moon will forever be an untouched album, because from the looks of where music is heading, every new artist is going to be a shittier edition of Justin Bieber. It's sad, i know... :'(

  • 'Us and Them' was the one that always hit me hardest, but this one gets me too. . .

  • I listened to this and wept profusely. In my pants.

  • Why is there any discussion here unrelated to this music? Those of us who feel this have the most rewarding connection!

  • It's like a bunjee jump off of a 2000 foot bridge in New Zealand.... Prepare all you want, you're still going to cry when it's all said and done...

  • Es el mejor intro en la historia de la musica, eso es seguro, que brillantes.

  • I don't get it. Its just an old English guy talkin in the beginning and then some black woman getting brutally raped and murdered for the rest of the song. this is horrific.

  • @Tantravekt Teriffic starts with T-E not H-O

  • @Tantravekt You listen to dubstep. Anything you have to say about music is irrelevant.

    wubwubwubwubwubdieofaidswubwubwub

  • @simplelife88393 Okay now that isn't a fair statement... Have you ever taken two tabs, two mollies, and gone to a rave? If not, your opinion on dubstep is rendered invalid and you, politely, should shut the fuck up... That is all.

  • @ChannerWanner I'm going to get a lot of hate on this but I dont care.

People need to stop hating on dubstep, if they dont like it, they shouldnt listen to it.

  • @roni214teehee If Hitler was such a nasty person, people should of just moved out of Germany.

  • @simplelife88393 people were not allowed to leave when hitler was in power atleast for a period of time

  • @roni214teehee No hate from me. I completely agree with what you say. Except they shouldn't stop listening to it. They should listen to it in the right environment. With LOTS of bass. LOTS of drugs. LOTS of pretty lights and LOTS of pretty women. Then they can come back a changed person with a changed opinion and appreciation for the emotions, love and joy to be exact that dubstep can bring out in even the hardest of souls.

  • @ChannerWanner I genuinley hope you aren't being serious.

  • @simplelife88393 I genuinely hope you understand that your opinion on anything has absolutely no effect on mine. Not to mention your opinion sucks. Yes, that is my opinion of you and your opinion. Take it as you will.

  • @ChannerWanner aids

  • @simplelife88393 You win. I can't beat aids (:

  • @ChannerWanner Yeah. I actually grew up listening to the music dubstep is based off of, drum and base / jungle / house and alternative electronic music. Dubstep is literally shit. It's basically aids in the form of music.

  • @simplelife88393 Well, ya know, that's just like... your opinion mmmaaaannn. Dubstep is an abstract art form, I will give you that. It's not for everyone. The different sub-genres within dubstep (that shouldn't be called dubstep) have such different intricacies involved with them that there is something for all tastes and moods... and drugs. Just depends on, you know, YOUR opinion. Mine happens to say that raves are the shit, and thus, dubstep is too. IN MY OPINION. So is floyd.

  • We've gotta go eventually is right, no one should be afraid of something they can't do anything about but unfortunately having no control is one of the greatest human fears

  • hahah i hate you guys

  • :-) Lion was here.

  • LSD + PINK FLOYD = BEST EXPERIENCE EVER.

(Not saying you have to do drugs to enjoy, or anything. Pink Floyd is the best regardless.)

  • I could see Adele doing a cover of this.

  • one of the greatest bands ever truly amazing music made right there. the new generations got to listen to this art.

  • if the world does end, then this is getting played full blast

  • Mrking chuch PLZ STFU... WE WONT GO AND BECOME DISCIPALS OF UR FUCKING RELIGION

  • ..14 years since i first heard it... i listened to it over and over and over.

learned it on guitar and piano since then.

    nothing got lost. nothings changed?!

i hear and feel it exactly the same as i did the first time.

not out of sentiment for a memory from that time.

it has no age. doesn't falter.

how many pieces of music have that quality?

it captures so many emotions. don't know what ones but i know they're there.

Thanks Rick Wright and Clare Torry!

    A masterpiece!

  • well, if you like breathing air, you'd sure love some co2...

  • 555 likes 5 dislikes. Anyone see a pattern?

  • Very beautiful song, one of my fav.

  • by the time i got to this track i already knew this is the best album ever made

  • @Foolishfate, after seeing the documentary on the making of DSOTM, I can safely say this is not about religion. As Yuhnasty said, it's about life, death, sex, pain and pleasure, birth and rebirth. In short, anything a woman can go through in her life.

  • @moodplaylist Man I swear I can so hear everything you just said in this song, it's actually given me an entirely new perception of this masterpiece and I love it.

  • @PatchCornAdams722

Thanks Patch, it's an important piece of music and music history to me. And like many others here, it'll be the opening song of my funeral. But I'm not a man, I'm a woman last time I checked :)

  • I love pink floyd, and I adore this song. But listening to it, I can't seem to understand how this song relates to religion. Maybe it's just because of my own personal opinions on the subject, but if anyone has any insight into this song, or articles or whatever, please share! And I say religion, because that's what the uploader stated in their description. Much appreciated.

  • @foolishfate In an interview, the band talked about how it's about death. And Clare Tory's singing not accepting it at first, then in the middle of the song she starts to give in, and at the end she fully accepts it.

  • greatest album by greatest band in the history

  • I'm a huge Beatles fan but if someone said to me "What's the greatest album ever written?", I'd say "Dark Side of the Moon, obviously".

  • @Eldomina22 Pink Floyd > Beatles

  • @Eldomina22

    You're a smart man..

  • @Eldomina22 And if someone asked you "What's the greatest albumof the Beatles ?"

    ...

I'd probably say "The white album" or "The magical mystery tour"...

  • @Eldomina22 Better than Sgt Pepper?

  • @BelRiose2000 hard to tell which is better; but i'd have to say, DSOTM hits me harder.

  • @Eldomina22 The beatles are my favorite band, but Pink Floyd's DSOTM is my favorite album.

  • @Eldomina22 I'd rather say Wish, but DSOTM would be the second one :-)

  • @Eldomina22 Totally agree.

One album I havent ever got sick of, listened to it since i was a tiny kid to now at 33 yrs old.

  • This song is amazing. It seems to go with everything when you play it. It is just alive with the present moment. If you like this song, search Truth Contest in google and click on the top result. Then check out "The Present" on the homepage.

  • Me: Forgive me father for I have sinned. It has been 1 month since I've listened to Dark Side Of The Moon.

Priest: I'm gonna need to call the Pope.

  • @grevejp44 lol :D

  • This would be a great ass sample

  • Must great to be able to sing so expressively and powerfully like that.

  • Anyone able to make out what's being said at 3:32 ?

    it's very faint.

  • @iamahmmond

    According to Wikipedia it's

"I never said I was frightened of dying."

  • @iamahmmond

Said: If you can hear this whispering you are dying

    =3

  • @07quasar No it doesnt, it says 'I never said I was frightened of dying'

  • @sonofsin702

    She's singing Floyd: orgasm

  • she is like a saxophone

  • Check my channel for remastered version of this song

    /watch?v=Gwmlq4p7l9M

  • @AmvsorPiranhas Da fuck is wrong with you dude?! this song is in no way in need of a "remastered version."

  • @seyyerin no but your stupid grammar need's remastering!!!!

  • What was amazing was that Tory belted it out in like one take, if I recall. correctly. Truly an unsung singer, considering she got shafted because of it.

  • OH MY GOD... Amazing piece.

  • Five people are deaf

  • is she screaming in pain? or orgasm?

  • @sonofsin702 It deals with all pain and pleasure throughout life. The screams are proportionate to her life, from birth to death.

  • I can't get over how amazing this is. I just get so happy when I listen to this.

  • Comment removed

  • just imagine Gordon Brown singing this in the bath ;)

Fabulous music, gordon or not. Brill! :)

  • o.o

  • Eargasm.

  • This is my funeral song. Love it so damn much

  • If I was falling to my death down Angel Falls. Yhis is what I would sing.

  • OH MY GOD THE ALBUM PLAYS LIKE ONE CONTINUOUS SONG? THAT IS THE MOST AMAZING GENIUS THING I'VE EVER HEARD, EVEN THOUGH I LISTEN TO ALL KINDS OF MUSIC, EVERYTHING FROM LADY GAGA TO BRITNEY SPEARS

  • @MyNameIsBucket You were high when you wrote this weren't you?

  • @Xerosnake90 I thought being high was a prerequisite to listening to Pink Floyd.

  • @MyNameIsBucket You don't understand. Being high isn't a prerequisite to listening to Floyd. Pink floyd is a prerequisite to being high ;)

  • eh, sorry the songs about death not religion. Breathe=life/birth, Time=the passing of time/going from birth to death and The Great Gig is about death. i mean come on "The Great Gig in the Sky".

  • FUCKING ADDS EAT SHIT! IM STONED AND STRESSED, AND YOU MAKE ME JUMP WHEN IM TRYING TO RELAX LISTENIG FLOYD? EAT MY ASS

  • the top comment is probably the stupidest comment i have ever scene the real lyrics is and I am not frightened of dying any time will do I

don t mind why should I be frightened of dying

there's no reason for it you've gotta go sometime

I never said I was frightened of dying

  • this is what plays when your traveling through every universe and a burrito world

  • I want this song at my funeral, because it's the most passionate, soulful, amazing song i've ever heard... And because i want to live my life like a scream, fast and powerful. This song gives me goosebumps

  • 5 ppl are afraid of dying.

  • I've got my funeral music sorted.

  • I am so high.

  • @deadlywithrazors no you arent

  • @deadlywithrazors I am so not high.

  • @purpletycoon YERP

  • best band of all time easy

  • awesome lyrics

  • A woman had an orgasm while @#$%ing Chuck Norris, it sounded like this

  • @macgoo32 do not. ever. mention.... chuck norris on a pink floyd video. You do not compare the ant to the anteater!

  • @macgoo32 chuck norris, no...not ever...that fox news evil creature should nvr be associated with pink floyd

  • i wanna listen to this while surfing on a rainbow, definitely the rainbow on the cover...

  • @raveniac0108 you deserve a good fucking slap for mentioning radio(sore)head in the same breath as pink floyd.

  • 3 people are jelly because they cant hit the notes of this epic song

  • @entranceive you should be hit with a brick for your shitty, repetitive comment. fuckin knock it off.

  • awe inspiring..Clares vocal..

  • ThyDanny, if you enjoy it, buy the friggin album. :) If you're a young'un and have no money, ask your parents. If they won't buy you Dark Side, they're Tropical Fish Alien Buttmonkeys.

  • Lyrics:

    AAAAAHAHAHAH

    AHAHAAAAAAAAAAA

    OOOOOOOAAAAAAHAAAAAOOOO

    OOOHOOOOOWHOAAAAWHOAAAAAA

    AAAAAAAA OOOOH.

  • seriously? an orgasm joke on this video is one of the highest rated? come on people

  • @LittleLadhops ehm, Floyd said they wanted something that would sound as a female orgasm.

  • @calciuzify This is VERY untrue. They asked Claire Torrey to think of life, death, suffering & pain. They NEVER said they wanted her to think of the female orgasm. Roger Waters tell you this in the Making of the Dark Side of the Moon. I had the privilege of meeting Roger Waters & David Gilmour & neither of them ever said this when I asked about this song.

  • @calciuzify I'm appalled you'd even post something as blasphemous as this. You should be stoned, lynched and than dragged through town by a donkey because you sir are a giant ass of a boob.

  • @Illivatur ok, I apologize. If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear as a male ejaculation, infinite, isn't it? St. Caecilia bless you, on the serpent's tongue there's semen.

  • @calciuzify ROFL!!

  • @Illivatur By the way, ok be stoned, lynched and whatever, but don't call me blasphemous.

  • @LittleLadhops You're so right..

  • @LittleLadhops yeah, that's the good thing,it's music after all what could you possibly say?

  • @LittleLadhops No need to get frustrated, a person was quoted in the Pink Floyd biography as saying when Dark Side of the Moon was released, Great Gig in the Sky was the most played song in London Redlight Districts.

  • This is what Heaven is like sometimes. God bless!

  • ----------^============

  • I will hear this song in my head when i will die!

  • i want this played at my funeral, I'd feel honoured to be remembered when people listen to this song.

  • Have this CD and play it often.

  • whats the style of this music?

  • @32445589 the style in which you forget thinking about styles and even the music itself

  • I´m floating in the air... I... think I can reach for the sky...

  • 3 IDIOTS DON'T LOVE THE REAL MUSIC

  • One of the best songs on the album IMO..!!!!! Thumbsup if you agree...!!!!!!

  • @kb7010 imo i much prefer us and them imo. Imo i find that it has better musical aspects imo, such as an interesting beat, simple yet elegant guitar [do remember this is all my opinion] and a groovey bass imo.

  • The Dark side of the moon album will live forever because it is the journey of life and death and it is the most insightful recording ever made. From speak to me/Breathe (Life) to Eclipse (Death). Its a guide through life.

  • @UnclCakez4545

    fuck u!

  • 4:00 - 4:10 was sampled in Eyedea's The Dive pt 2. Lovely song.

  • best pink floyd song of them all

  • @Estebanfuturo there's no best pink floyd song , they are all best !

  • the incredible thing is that they paid the singer only 30 pounds. She had to take them to court for the money. What a stingy bunch of people.

  • I was a huge fan of this song when I was a child! I guess I was only 7 when I could spend all night long listening to this song over and over again! Now I listen to this and it gets me back to my childhood. :) Nice!

  • this girl fucking belts that fucking solo

  • @UncleCakez4545 Um , love and light babycakes, the song you really need to wake up to is called "Brain Damage".

Alternatively I suggest water wings, ginger tea and a few hail mariy's, maybe bloody mary's, you are going to need them. Wake up! to the Pink Floyd propehcies.xo
