  • werry good song !!!! thanks

  • It's a pity that Talk Talk have been unnoticed almost all of the 80's.It's one of many injustices of the pop history.I think they were so innovative and influential.

  • never answer loaded questions

  • te amo mark hollis!!!!!!

  • Shame he was always such a miserable London tit. Some great songs.

  • one of my favourite guitar solos ever

  • @geobruf123

It was an organ solo! but you would fully rule playing the same solo on an axe

  • Mark Hollis I love you again!!!!!!!!

  • How did such a negative person end up on this comment board? Obviously u haven't listened to the music, or u would forgive my rhapsody. I hope that you exorcise ur demons young man. Perhaps take up an instrument, or painting, or writing poetry. Maybe u should give drinking with the blokes, darts, boxing, and football a break. Indulge ur gentler angels, for awhile. Then, perhaps, you'll realize what a stupid jerk you've been, and you'll weep, appropriately, with shame.

  • @TopShelfShots

I stumbled on this by accident and already love this band.

  • @TopShelfShots - Hey!!! I Love football, and "I get it". The blokes and boxing bit, I understand, but please leave football out of it (unless you're talking about the very boring football aka soccer. Otherwise an outstanding post!!

  • sounds like this album could have been recorded yesterday - it's aged so well

  • @AudioAstronaut5000

    Mark Hollis = Genius

    You = Twat

  • One of the best albums ever.

  • @fbooth100 New Gold Dream by Simple Minds is probably one of the best synthesizer albums I have ever heard but yeah, Colour Of Spring is definitely up there...

  • Just love the Pink Floyd-ish instrumental interlude. Hollis and Talk Talk are timeless. Like others have said here - future generations have a lot of great music to look forward to!

  • Talk Talk have proven that they are like good wine...with 25 years gone by they are better than ever. This album will live on to see many mesmerized listeners that are not even born yet.

  • què fué de esta gente maravillosa en emoción y sentimiento...ese arte...?

  • i believe in this band.

  • beautiful.

  • If i could choose only one album...

you know the rest.. utter perfection.

  • the best of the best !

  • it's well over 20 years since i bought this album on cassette as a 16 year-old - it hasn't aged a day - i still come back to this album time and time again because.........it's feckin ace!

  • By the time " I Don't Believe In You" is playing;you already know where this album is headed to.You know Zion Canyon for a marker.

  • Great song!

  • Timeless ... as every kind of inspired music ist ...

  • One of my fav albums of all time,:) x

  • this is music ,back in the good times hehe.but i dont believe you ,i dont believe in you

  • this is music ,back in the good times hehe.

  • Diese Musik muss man lieben!!!

  • I always thought it was a great guitar solo too, until I watched the live concert DVD and discovered it was one of the keyboardists doing. Still a lesson in great solo work though!

  • Comment removed

  • Take this all you guitar solo shredders/maniacs! Here's what a real solo sounds like. So simple and short, yet so beautiful and full of feeling and care. Puts many heartless solos to shame.

  • The best - words are not enough

  • gestatten sie mein name ist frederik hahn...torchman! super sample!

  • AWSOME GUITAR SOLO!!!

  • Love this band so much! Love everything they've done. So much talent, so little recognition. I will love them forever. It takes a special kind of soul to create such beautiful music. :D x

  • I have a lot of CD's in my collection and honestly speaking, I'm not sure that this isn't the very best one. This is a masterpiece of musical artistry.

These guys should be bigger than 99% of most bands. So much for justice?

  • This album was a masterpiece. It has aged like a fine wine....truly before its time. Evokes so much atmosphere and soulful beauty.

  • WOW!!!!

  • So sweet..

  • the best in years to come

  • TT created their own hall of fame. PURE PLATINUM.

  • Torch - Kapitel 1

  • If your'e out there Angela... I still remember listening to this album with you side by side on your floor ;),it still sounds wonderful after 20 years and makes me miss you to this day every time I hear it.Hope you are doing well.

  • @WEEBAWS I think a lot of us have an "Angela" out there who we think about when we hear this song. Great comment.

  • @WEEBAWS Aw............bless your heart!

  • Ahh what a tune!!

Love it , miss this truly great band.

  • Magnificent track from my favourite album of 1986.

  • Genius. Talk Talk are in a musical category of perfection unmatched by anyone else

  • @dreamvault You speak the truth!

  • This really is a great album.

  • so so great god blessed him and his music

  • so so great god blessed him and his music

  • j'adore.Je ne découvre colour of spring qu'aujourd'hui c'est ....

  • I think it's probably David Rhodes on the guitar, that reminds you of Dave

    Gilmour.

  • @123ubuntu666

    i was just thinking that...

  • Almost Dave Gilmour style guitar at 2 minutes 55 seconds.

  • Torch- Kapitel 1

cover das besser ist als das original ,krass.

  • I believe in you, thanks for your music.

  • Listening to this song over and over. It's so mellow, even sensual.

  • My favourite band. Turn it up loud, children. Weep for joy. Be kissed by god. Dance with angels. What more can I say?

  • @AZDrumist what is your favourite album of theirs?

  • @AZDrumist How about saying something that doesn't involve over-sentimental, pathetic religious bullshit?

    Dance with angels?? Get real.

  • listening to this is like as close to heroin i wanna get!!!!!! so powerful !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks guys...still listenin'....

  • this is just so gorgeous

  • What I hear is Mark Hollis/Talk Talk's "Kind of Blue" or better yet, their "Bitches Brew"... This is their way of tying up the sound that is at its deepest core!! It fuzzes all of the great past sounds of Jazz, Chamber, Soul, R&B, and White Pop..... This is not Miles music, but the steps takin' to make IT is extraordinary!!..... Amen

  • Creo que despues de "I Know Its Over" (The Smiths), esta es la canción de desamor más intensa y maravillosa jamás creada.

    Inigualable!!!!

y Mark Hollis, uno de los mejores cantantes de toda la vida!

  • bellissima

  • Steve Winwood played organ on this number and a few others. This album still sounds fresh.

  • es una banda subvalorada y cuasi desconocida para el gran publico, pero que sentimiento...

  • just an AMAZING masterpiece of music...

talk talk.. please come back guys, theres no music like this today.

  • @theBESTelvis I am sorry they will never come back, Hollis is no longer recording at all. It was a moment in time and it's gone, but at least we have the recordings.

  • I think this is their best work. Beautiful song.

  • This album is perfect harmony throughout. This song is mesmerizing.

  • Time makes Talk Talk better. I listened to talk talk between the years of 1986 and 1994. The band had a profound affect on my intellectual thought process and how I wrote and perceived music. By 1996, I had already spent 1000's of hours in the recording studio and had written 100's of songs. It was the color, depth, and counter melodic sequential patterns of Mark Hollis that were so inspiring.

  • Wicked song! Love it! Great voice..

  • che meraviglia!!

  • Lovely song. I'm working on a cover right now. It's an amazing little detail at 2.14 - One saxophone note, "dweet", thats it.

  • This song, 'Happiness Is Easy', 'Give It Up' and 'Time It's Time' are true gems. Time can do nothing against them.

  • i grew up listening to talk talk and i still play them all the time. so under rated

  • this song is a heart breaker

  • Fantastic ! Hollis voice is awesome.

  • you can all go and feck off this is the best

  • When i hear their music again and realize that i MISS Talk Talk!!!

  • its about time mark hollis/talk talk were in the music hall of fame.

  • canción preciosa, melancolica y a la vez con mucha fuerza desde su batería.

  • Talk talk in english please please

  • Mindblowingly great!

  • its really odd for me to hear this because i didnt think new there songs but i have heard most of them alredy because i think my mum played them alot when i was small

  • @33fgfhjjggy6y same thing. i listen to talk talk and recall the melody being heard some time ago although i never used to play them myself. proabbaly parents or older brother played them at the time, me being a kidling then :-)

  • I'm confused: "I don't believe you" is close, but not the same as "I don't belive in you"... so what's the title of the song and what are the lyrics?

  • Mark says a few times"I don,t believe you"and then"I don,t believe IN you"2.25 Those are 2 differant things but can be close together ;-) Just listen to the lyrics ;-)

  • This song is about religion possibly where both phrases would make sense. "I don't believe you" to the clergy and "I don't believe in you" to the religion itself or god? thoughts?

  • @Annatiza I always thought it was about a drug addict claiming he'd quit, probably because "I Believe in You" was written after someone Hollis knew died of a heroin overdose. Like, "I don't believe you're going to quit and I don't believe you could if you tried." Yet that seems contradictory to the humanitarian nature Mark always professed. Then again, "I'm trying to keep some self-respect." There's only so much trust you can have after so much failure/falsehood.

  • Mr. Hollis, this is a masterpiece !

  • d'accordo in pieno...capolavoro!

  • che capolavoro!!!

  • I only found out they released this gorgeous song as a single yesterday! Not that you've ever know these things by sodding UK and US and any commercial radio anywhere it seems.

Nevermind Floyd, hag Madonna, Bee Gees, Beatles, Weller, Michael Jackson and all the other overrated and average stuff we're ALL supposed to love are NOTHING!

It's Kim Wilde, OMD, China Crisis, Alphaville, Kate Bush, Bangles, Crowded House, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, A-ha, Stevie Nicks and Talk Talk-they matter!

  • the best song of tt

  • Play this song on "11", trust me, you WILL pass out with delight as you twirl around the room in joy singing along..

  • the beginning is sampled by TORCH - KAPITEL 1

its a german rapper check it out

  • I read below comments about the "guitar solo", that's actually played on a keyboard synth...Hadn't heard this song for ages, true beauty..thanks for posting!

  • god i love talk talk...always have and always will..this is just one of their totally amazing songs

  • Does anyone know where I can get an mp3 of this?

I've been a fan for 20 years, it's hard to pick one song as a favorite. I love John Cope, I love Time its Time, so many really beautiful songs....

It makes my heart ache that they don't make music anymore....

  • A wholly unique and uncategorizable sound informed by elements of jazz, classical, and ambient music; their masterful final recordings, while neglected commercially, possess a timelessness rare among music of any genre, and in retrospect they seem the clear starting point for the post-rock movement of the 1990s.

  • Talk Talk is my FAVORITE group of all time! I LOVE their music! I could listen to their music and probably will listen to it the rest of my life. Geniouses! Their music is amazing. The last album they recorded together was "different" than all their previous work but I'm sure if I gave it a fair chance I would love it, too. But I'm still busy listening to all the songs they recorded in early years. BETTER THAN FLOYD, BABY. Take that to heart. You get lost in the music of Talk Talk!

  • This came on the radio once, and the DJ said that "Other musicians these days should be beaten with a stick by the record companies to make songs as good as this", lol

  • @degree7 Haha! Except that big record companies are why we have such shit music heard all over the place.

  • I love ,the best song

  • Mark Hollis' voice - parfait ! A wondrous match to Bryan Ferry's style. I lived during the 80's but the noise in the United States drown them out. Les artistes britanniques ont une telle capacité de trouver de nouveaux sons.

  • the best song, i am in love, nice gutar , love them

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful music. Timeless and breathtaking.

  • ....Talk Talk rocks baby. I get lost in the music and I love every song they ever recorded. I would love it if they would comd out with a freakin' new c.d. I would be the first in line the morning the store opened. Have you heard It's a Shame, Renee, Tomorrow Started...? Some days this is all I ever listen to!

  • Thank you for suggesting other Talk Talk smashes. Renee est incroyable!

  • I need every Talk Talk song ever recorded for my mp3 player!:D

  • Good to see we're ALL agreed, and that I'm preaching to the converted.

LOVE the band ~ but this song is something else.

It's all been said better below ~ but had to add my tuppence.

    Timeless piece of music!!!

  • Totally agree with that. So emotive and real from within... Where are you Mark?... please make more music...

  • This album is just perfect. You can listen it a million times and you can find new accords after 23 years. Thanks a lot for make possible to new generations listen so fabulous music.

  • @TheVacaman

i completely agree with you, i still play it today to...

theres nothing like it on the market, its a masterpiece

  • timeless, i still love this song. Thanks for posting.

  • Honest and sincere music by artists creating from the heart and not for the bank account always reaches a higher level.

  • @XXXjuqinctylkjnmswXX

It's not rock and roll when it's done for the money.

  • How good is this man....

So many layers to this song, brilliant musicians!

  • one of the best albums ever made

  • ... had been my favorite for months those days, the guitar solo (and the fading one at the end) are so absolute right, it can`t be better...

  • This song so sums up the recent expenses scandal by our so called honourable members !!!

  • Or are you Julian Cope haha???

  • No, just a huge fan of the 80's

  • This band went from Japan/Duran name tags. And in my opinion surpassed them on every level with each passing album.

Talk Talk became probably the biggest influence of experimental music of their era that lay the path for radiohead and the like.

  • Well said! I take it you're a Julian Cope / Teardrop Fan aswell??? Cool man / Girl! :))

  • foking great

  • Iám impressed what a great song

  • As anything which Talk Talk are involved in - absolutely brilliant.

The Colour of Spring is a top album.

This is a top song with a great guitar solo on it.Could listen to their music over and over again.

  • Best guitar solo EVER!

    Oh, what a song!

  • Agree with James, the guitar solo is superb, gave me goose bumps 23 years ago and still does today. Can almost feel him playing it. Talk Talk are definitely up there with the greatest! Fantastic music - and lyrics

  • I've always really enjoyed this song... It has taken on a whole new meaning in my life recently that only makes it that much better!!!! MAGIC!!!!!!! Absolutely heart breaking!!!

  • It haunts the soul...

  • It's like a drug to me, this song is perfect...it's an awesome piece of music..

  • Is like a drug to me...it 's just awesome piece of music..

  • beautiful song...

  • Wonderful song...great Talk Talk...!

  • Nydelig

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    que buen tema.... un lento....

    que vuelvan los lentos....

  • Excelente tema de esta banda musical simbolo de la decada de 80', muy buena voz de Mark Hollis

  • i love the textures involved in this awesome piece of music.

  • Didn't have to hear this song more than once for it to become one of my favorites. Continues to this day to creep up on you like a good buzz.

  • Talk talk makes the Beatles look like the Beatles

  • No.1 of the world !!!

  • prove me wrong but this is one the most beautiful songs ever written... this is called emotion, suspension, sensitivity, rich sound... Touching the core means you've touched the message...

  • You're wrong...Talk Talk also made a song called "I Believe in You", which is the most beautiful song ever written. I urge you to listen to it if you haven't already.

  • one of my favorite hauntingly songs. fine band

  • fukkin inspirational.

  • Brilliant !!Poetic Mark where are YOU ????

  • fucking brilliant album!!!!!!!

  • for ever in my mind

  • agree with most comments, especially godlessally

  • Warm and rich sounds, yummy! I love this band and my ex-wife wife hated them. Notice the word EX!

  • Maybe it irritated her the fact she didn´t know about the band from anyone but you... Or maybe that you heard them a lot... Or both things...

  • Wow! So many memories! I love this song!! It put a landmark in my life.

  • genial

  • Talk Talk es lo mejor de lo que ha habido.

  • Such a great album all the way through. One of my stranded island picks for sure.

  • They were huge in the 80's.. Radio/TV... You couldn't miss them if you followed music then.. I live in Canada..So yes the States usually have there head up their asses on alot of things. But you already knew that. Yes? lol.

  • Reading all the comments here it looks like this song is well known in the Uk, but not too much in the States. What a shame!!!!!

  • Don't know why but this song is has never being airplayed in the american radiostations. Too bad is such a great song.

  • My Fav off the album.

  • I agree with you ALL.

    This is superb.

Masterpiece ~ this track in particular!!

As relevant today as 20 years ago.

  • Guau!! que canción, Genial Talk Talk.

  • Deacuedo contigo caudito..este tema es simplemente maravilloso^^

  • Gran tema

    Me trae muchos recuerdos

    Saludos

  • The album this comes from sounds as fresh today as it did when I first bought it in 1986. This band are so under-rated.I think it will sound ground breaking in another 30 years time.I was not keen on some of the more "poppy" songs they brought out. This is sublime!
