I love punk and hate the clash. Ihatetheirguts...Mainstream shite, disgusting rockabilly attitude. anything but punk!!! always shifting styles, from reggae to rockabilly, bunch o wankers, punk was about creating new styles, not copying Bob Marley riffs. Fuck'em!!!
@sjmoreiro nah just means the other 4 people think yur an arse for slanderin a great band like the clash regardless of their "punk" or how fuckin "punk" you think they are ... grow up
@sjmoreiro "punk was about creating new styles" . That's exactly what they did bro, they didn't got stuck in those 3 chords and "punk" atittude, which today it doesn't make any sense, they mixed the whole thing because that's what real punk is about, it does not follow rules, strummer is the real punk, no those with spike hair and stupid poser attitude. punk is about creating, and fuck logic.
@sjmoreiro You can't blame The Clash because they got popular, they got popular because they were good, and because punk was the hype of the moment, sex pistols did "nevermind the bollocks" OK... great album, but that was it. The clash made great PUNK albums in the beggining, (listen albums before london calling) and then, when they were too popular to remain "punks", they started to experiment other style such as reggae, while those other bands got stuck in this thing called "punk".
@sjmoreiro Jesus. How old are you? About 12? Fucking cretin. Obviously know NOTHING! The Clash created new styles whatever they did. Punk got boring towards the end of the 70's. The Clash injected a new attitude. Coolest band ever. No go and play your silly Green Day elpees.
@davymgaunt sorry mate, but you missed the whole point.
I have never had any greenshite album, never listened to one either.
Now I'll go and listen to my stranglers, damned, stiff little fingers, vibrators, sex pistols, ramones, Eddie and the hod rods, Slaughter and the dogs, etc... albums.
@sjmoreiro Silly little boy. Having proven you weren't around when punk happened you also appear to have no musical taste whatsoever! I mean, The Pistols....c'mon...they were a manufactured comedy band....and they were shite! The Clash....the only band that mattered!
I love how Joe mixes up the "underworld" line and the "boys and girls" line at the beginning.

@rubbersoul553 Did you really listen to real punk? Are any of the following three chord bands?
The Stranglers, Sex Pistols, Eddie and the Hot Rods, Vibrators...
To me, the clash were a one chord band. Reggae shite.
