And the best player to graduate high school from 1993......Tim Duncan. I believe Duncan was taking a swim somewhere in the Virgin Islands when this game was being played. Sometimes an athlete is better off flying under the radar during those teenage years.
Lol @ Sheed crazyass.wat a beast!Barkley said 1time, if Wallace was a lil more selfish when it comes to stats,he'd lead the L in scoring and rebounding.Dude was a problem, he just didnt care about the accolades n xtra shit.Miss his antics, not a hall o famer but wouldnt b mad if they slipped him in(they def.aint doing that lol)
The best player by far would have been Randy Livingston. Knee injuries ruined what would have been an at least very good NBA career. This is the beginning of the "next" MJ generation of hs players. Starting with Kenny Anderson and ending with Telflair and Dwight Howard, Nike, Addidas and Reebok pumped millions into these kids, hyping them into the stratosphere.
Its hard to believe how many mcdonalds all-americans are not even stars in college. I remember watching this game live on Sunday (the day before the famous Webber time out) and thinking Avondre Jones was going to be a beast in college. I also liked Honeycutt alot ... i wonder if they had went to bigger name schools if things coulda been different.
@GunGemini Yes, I think the two went to the NBA but didn't have long careers. Such good players in College. It's a shame they didn't go very far in the NBA.
@GunGemini Yes, I think they were both bench players in NBA for a short while. They were both good College players at UCLA. It's really unfortunate that they didn't have good NBA careers. It goes to show you that you can be good players in College like many other good college players but you have to be even better to go far in the NBA and stay in the league for a good number of years and be a decent player, not just a superstar.
@matt99unc Stackhouse had a very good career, Wallace is probably the biggest underachiever in the game.Avondre Jones would've been nice, if he was only focused instead of messing with Samuri Swords.
1) In this particular game, Rasheed Wallace got his ass handed to him by Darnell Robinson. So he was the biggest underachiever.
2) There were guys more hyped up than Pervis and Greg Oden, who didn't do much of anything.REmember a guy by the name of J.R. Reid.Rodrick Rhodes is another, and so is Tim Thomas.
they just did an article on him in SI, he's in the NBDL. He injured BOTH knees and lost a lot of his quickness, so his super promising career fell short
this is news too me. im pretty young but i never knew this game was ever played in memphis. let alone the coliseum. and u should see that place now. what a waste. i hate memphis politicians
