If you ever bothered to read any history books you'd know that every peace negotiations were by preceded armistice or cease fire agreement. (unless, of course you're dealing with loony religious fanatics who threw out the window every rule and norm of civilized behaviour.)
I don't know if you realize this, but a ceasefire or an armistice are both forms of peace agreements, albeit temporary ones. Furthermore, unless the aggression is unilateral in nature, both sides must agree to the terms of the ceasefire in order to ratify it. Otherwise, one side stops shooting and the other continues. But how does Israel plan to achieve long-term peace without negotiations?
You are incredibly frustrating and irrational. A ceasefire is of course a temporary peace agreement; you're just arguing semantics for the sake of argument. If as you say is true, and indeed the Palestinians are incapable of peace, then what would you have the Israelis do -- forced ethnic ghettos perhaps? Concentration camps? Ethnic cleansing? These people are their neighbors, and they aren't just going to go away. The only way to have lasting peace is by diplomacy.

War survivors (especially children) prove to be quite resilient to what has happened. They come out stronger and have a much more realistic view of life and live life putting things in proper perspective. They are far better equipped to survive hard times being that they've survived the devastation of war. Thusly, they are the wheat rather than the chaff.
I saw this in both my Mother (who was a child) and Grandmother (who was an adult) as refugee survivors of WWII.

Technically Israel is an occupying force in Gaza. Under international law, armed resistance is legal. I think firing rockets that by nature can't be guided is conscionable by any means, but you must understand that this is not exactly "they attacked us first and we retaliated in kind". This is a nuclear and military superpower against unorganized dissidents with homemade rockets and aging Kalashnikovs. If Israel wants peace, being the center of an international incident is certainly not the way.

I don't know if you realize this, but a ceasefire or an armistice are both forms of peace agreements, albeit temporary ones. Furthermore, unless the aggression is unilateral in nature, both sides must agree to the terms of the ceasefire in order to ratify it. Otherwise, one side stops shooting and the other continues. But how does Israel plan to achieve long-term peace without negotiations?

If as you say is true, and indeed the Palestinians are incapable of peace, then what would you have the Israelis do -- forced ethnic ghettos perhaps? Concentration camps? Ethnic cleansing? These people are their neighbors, and they aren't just going to go away. The only way to have lasting peace is by diplomacy.

I am well aware Israel is not a signatory to the treaty banning white phosphorous in civilian areas. However, it just goes to show the lack of morals present in the Jewish state? Does Israel think that using tactics deemed dirty or below the belt by most countries is going to help bring about peace? Obviously not. And as far as your claim that there must be peace to negotiate peace, that makes no sense. Why negotiate for something you already have? Come on use your head.
