  • super schön!!!!!!

  • How long did this tank take to grow so nicely?

  • where is South America fish tank? so where are altums?? ))

  • ESO ES UN ACUARIO O UN PLANTARIO

  • GEEZUS. I thought keeping up with my 25 gallon tank was a pain in the ass....

  • Very nice aquarium! It's my impression that you over planted it, fishes also need room to swim, specially your Gymnocorymbus Ternetzi. Greetings.

  • 0:30 what kind of fish is that ? kind of cichlids?

  • Now they are some happy fish! In allot of tanks they are swimming like meth addicts on red bull trying to escape :0

  • can i ask what substrate you're using, beautiful tank by the way! :)

  • LaLaLaLaLa Oh hello i stumbled upon you page and saw your man sayincan you put any other south american cichlids in with oscars i no a ellycrawler pike cichlid isnt amazonian but mine lived with my 7inch oscar and she was only 3inch max since then i have got rid of the oscar cause i wanted an arowana and my oscar klled and ate my last silver aro 50 euro down the drain bu when i got rid of my oscar i got a silver arowana wit load of other fish i will post my first vid soon "THE END"

  • @iCantTinkOfaGudName:

    Hi!

In a big and proper tank it's way more easy to keep oscars in a community. I've seen tanks with 10 inch oscars and 1 inch corys together in harmony. Keep in mind that arowana need freakin' giant tanks. Tell me when you post that vid. I'm going to watch it.

    Best regards.

  • (amazing )

  • (thanking)^^

  • can you tell me some south american amazon fish that can go with oscars

  • In a big tank... of course.

E.g. all bigger growing plecs.. maybe Leopard plecs, or tetras like Silver Dollars... But they all need really big tanks.

  • @n03lzz silver dollars arent tetras, there from the pirahna family

  • @jonno3600:

    Well, your are right.

But that's a translation-problem between english and german. In german we call the order "Characiformes" also "Salmler" including the piranha family... the translation of "Salmler" is in most cases "tetra". But in english "tetra" doesn't discribe the whole order, but only three families of it. So what german calls: "Mühlstein-Salmler" and english "Silver Dollar" isn't a tetra. I'm sorry.

  • ohh ok

  • any large chichilids. green terrors red devils and flowerhorns ones around that size.

  • @SAMUELBRAPHIRON i got a braziliensis and a flowerhorn with mine, u could also have: rivulatus, keyhole, jack dempsey, firemouth, make sure if u buy a small oscar the other fish are bigger than it cause oscars grow faster than the others and oscars eat anythin that fit in there mouths

  • rter

  • Fantastic!

  • Thank you very much!

  • Helloooo lil tetra!

Awesome tank! I have a semi amazon tank that im hoping to make a full amazon tank eventually. What is the best driftwood to use? Im hoping to come across a good sized piece. Mine is a 150L (approx 33 gallons) corner tank. I have a video of it on my channel. I was thinking about putting plants in but I have 2 good sized silver dollars that strip plants really quickly. At the moment I have random fake plants from my 'aquarium bits and pieces' collection.

  • Hi, i get mine in my local fish stores. All kinds of bogwood. You can collect it by yourself if you have a bog in your area... just clean it very well.

A good start would be some jungle vals. They grow fast, big and they are strong plants. Not many fish try to eat them.

  • why are your rooms so dark or are u a vampire.

  • I darken my rooms for not having any reflections in the glas during making a film. I close the shutters and I switch of all monitors and the tv.

And of course... i am a vampire ;)

  • I am making a video f my 20g live bearer tank I its ahs a lot of reflections and I thought why u have no reflexes in your tank.

  • Cool, i'm looking forward to see a video of this tank.

    Another hint:

I also try not to film frontally through the glas and i try to wear dark clothes. Sometimes i cover things, that make reflections, with dark blankets.

And of course: Vampires got no reflextion in the mirror.

  • OK, I will post it soon but in ,a video I saw your blue jeans and white shirt .

  • Yeah, it's the "5300 us gallon South America panorama tank / 20.000l Becken @ a Zoo Aquarium [1/1]" video.

There was absolutly no other way to film this tank.^^

  • You seem to go to great lengths to provide awesome vids for people all over the world who don't appreciate a masterpiece when they see it.

Must be the the Vampire genes in you.

PS. Did you act in Twilight? Are you afraid of wooden stakes Can I cook a garlic based dish for you Are vampires naturally fishaholics?

  • Thank you so much. =)

And: No! Yes! Yes, please! Not all of them, i think.

    ^^

  • Thanks for your help. :)

  • Are your plants also south america themed?

  • Kinda... I didn't do a classification of the plants... There is "waterweed" in the tank that might be "Brazilian elodea" (Egeria densa). The jungle vals might be "Vallisneria americana". Either i got the "Amazon sword" (Echinodorus amazonicus) and the "Green Cabomba" (Cabomba caroliniana). All plants might live in south america at least their closely related do.

  • VRY GOD IFAULT YOU THE MUSIC OFF PORR

  • My fish don't make any music and i've to follow copyrights. Sry.

  • Acara Cichlids can be with other fishes which are more community like fishes?? Aren't Acaras aggressive?

  • They are not very aggressive. Only during the breeding periods, they guard their territory. But that's no problem in a bigger tank. Sometimes the males or females fight a little bit but they never attack the other community fishes.

  • there are some fishes you must get in my opinion,

rummy nosed tetra, cardinal tetra, angelfish, butterfly ram cichlids, neon tetra, lemon tetra andamano shrimp are a must

  • do you requre co2? like pills or injection/

  • No i don't use any CO2 or something. When i first started the tank, years ago, i used those little pills you can put into the ground near the roots. Nothing more.

  • Yeah, I currently use those as they are cheaper

  • How many neons and dont the cichilds try to devour them?

  • I didn't have neons in my tank. I tried that once in an other tank, but they died because of the neon-tetra-disease.

There are peaceful cichlids that don't devour smaller fish.

  • sorry I mean black neons, and the same querry applies..

  • how much did it cost for all those plants? ive been buying mine from the local fish store for 6.99 each and their so small, it cost a lot if you add them up.

  • These are all very fast growing plants, which you can buy over here in germany for 2€ (3 dollar) each. These plants are all from a small previous tank. I think i bought four jungle vals, four Amazon sword plant and two bunches of waterpee.

  • hi..awsome tank...i dont see any plant movement...i mean how d u control ur water in flow from ur filter pump? the water look so charm and still as if no water filteration...

  • Thats exactly what i want to. I've a big Eheim professinal II external filter. What i did, to reduce the water flow is, that i use one of these baskets that you put on the filter entry-pipe to prevent the fish from gettiing sucked in and put it on the filter outlet-pipe. That reduces the stream to almost zero.

  • wow your plants are waaaaay bettyer than mine i love it

  • Thanks. =)

  • banyak sangat lah pokok? x lemas ker ikan2 tuh nanti?

  • Is this Malaysian? Do you ask something about the Plants and the Water? I don't get it, sorry.

  • your aquarium taks is so beautiful, i like it....feel harmony, all is life plant?

  • Thank you!

Yes, i only have life plants.

  • ketammerah1 is asking wouldnt the fish die if too much plants?

  • Hi, ok thank you.

I think they feel much more comfortable in a well planted tank then in a empty tank. I've never seen any fish dieing because of too much plants.

  • I got corrected: It's "dying" and not "dieing"! :P

  • Comment removed

  • wow you have very healthy plants... does it need special lamp for plant? or a usual lamp like philip, leuch tech, etc? thx u

  • if you have two lights in your lamp you can use a flora glo light whit aqua glo light and put some eeee uuhm dont know the english word so i will call it plant food down with theyr roots....that helped me alot whit many different plants....both flora and aqua is good for the plants but flora is plants only i think, and aqua is more fore the fish and shrimps n such too...hope it helped...

  • I use special fluorescent tubes for fish-keeping ( of JBL and - GLO).

I've four tubes with altogether 188watts.

  • Cool!

  • wow discus, black skirts and a green terror nice

  • They are Blue Acara not Green terror. Both species are closely related.

  • I bought some of the same thing from petco once too. It's like a surprise package; some will sprout, others are duds. the ones that sink have a better chance of rooting. Just follow the instructions, but if a bulb floats just put it a little under the gravel - not completely. If they are aponotegons, keep in mind that these plants have a dormant period; once the leaves begin to fall off or seem to rot away, you may need to take the plant out, put it in some cool water in the dark for 2+ weeks

  • Okay...i never heard about something like that. You can only buy living plants over here in Germany. I think it's hard to grow plants from seeds. Especially in a tank where you have to start a biological system it's the best to get as much big plants as you can get.

  • What is that? Some kind of fertilizer???

I translate "plant blubs" as "fluorescent lamp" for fish tanks.

  • just put them in ur soil and cover about a half inch and they will grow any almost any conditon

  • Im sure all the fish feel at home.

Do you clean the substrate in the open parts or do you just leave it alone?

  • My filter takes out everything so i don't have to clean the substrate...although the filter more often.

  • Please help, I am installing t5, 1 9500k, 6500K and 2 other of my 4000k all 54w aquarium is 400 liters as you give me your opinion is this the correct combination? thanks greetings

  • I use:

    1 Hagen T8 AquaGlo 40W with 18000 K,

    1 Hagen T8 PowerGlo 40W with 18000 K,

    1 JBL T5 Solar ultra NATUR 54W with 9000K,

    1 JBL T5 Solar ultra TROPIC 54W with 4000K.

Four T5 tubes will create a bright lighting. I think the mix is ok. I always try to mix the blueish and the reddish light.

  • Lindo aquário.

Rui - São Paulo - Brasil

  • Obrigado.

    Nils - Kaarst - Alemanha

  • belloooooooooo

  • Graziiiiiiiiiiie! ^^

  • molto belloooooooooooooo il tuo acquario ma di quanti litri e?

  • Grazie, 420 litri.

  • WOW! this is amazing

  • Thank you very much!

  • Beautiful tank, I like your style!

I can't tell from the video, are all of your plants real, or did you mix some plastic in as well?

  • Hi,

    thank you!!!

Everything in this tank is real... real plants, driftwood, stones and sand... as well the fish ;)

  • nice tank set up check mine out

  • Thank you. I will check yours out.

  • aw no black ghosts?

  • You mean black ghost knifefish, right? I think those fish are hard to keep. They grow up to 25 inches (60 cm) and need special food. They look awesome but it's only a fish for specialists.

  • wtf, i thought they only grew to about a foot. i have some in my less planted aquarium, had em for months, but they haven't really grown much. they seem to be doing well on live ghost shrimp. i was just saying coz they're from south america..

  • Black ghosts need special food? Shit I was feeding mine blood worms and oscar food and mine got 17 inches, but had to give it away

  • A food that is more special then just flakes.^^

17 inches is awesome! Why had you give it away?

  • Very nice planted tank. It's alot better than mine fish tank.

  • Hi, i think you should try to create a more natural look in your tank. With real plants and gravel, with bog wood insteat of those plastic-stuff.

  • Look at them :) They`re so happy... Nice Tank!

  • Thank you. =)

  • Parece um criador de mato pq so tem mato ai cadê os peixes???

  • Sorry, eu não falo Português.

The google-translator tell me something about designers and killing the fish?^^ Did you mean the plants kill the fish? No they don't!^^

  • schöne Pflanzen....

Sind das alles deine Becken? ;-)

  • Danke, ich habe hier Videos von meinen 7 Becken, 2 Teichen und aus Zoos. Wenn das Becken aus nem Zoo ist stehts aber auch dran. Also ein klares jain. ;)

  • Impressive tank! You have a real talent for growing aquatic plants. I am unable to see green and this still looks beautiful (although blue and yellow plants look pretty awesome)!

  • Thank you! It's not only talent but also good water and lighting.

  • Water and lighting are top priorities, no arguing that. I finally have my nano tank established, so the java ferns are starting to propogate!!! I'm thinking about adding a cryptocorcyne and maybe some dwarf hair grass.

  • Cool, post a video of it!

  • I have a video up of my betta interacting with the camera. It shows a bit of my tank from last month. I'll post a recent video of it when I get back from Los Angeles. I'll probably have videos of the Monterey Bay Aquarium by then too.

  • Your betta is very nice. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos.

  • awesome aquarium one question tho. when u clean it or whatever do u uproot the plants or what plz reply

  • I still answered your question on my video: "420 liters tropical Asia fish tank / Asienbecken [2/6]".

  • Love your aquarium great job! I wish i could do that.

  • Thank you. I bet you can achieve that too.

  • so white and yellow is better then 2 white right??..and what kelvins mean couse i now whats is power that will take mor electricity...and im going to be a bigginer in SW aquariums and i think its better the brighter light right =] ?

  • sorry i ment watts is power x]...

  • Kelvin is the Color temperature. It starts with a "warm" reddish light. E.G.: a candle flame has 1500K and ends with a very "cold" blueish light, like the blue sky which has 12000K.

    Real tropical Daylight has 5000K

  • I use:

    1 Hagen AquaGlo 40W with 18000 K,

    1 Hagen PowerGlo 40W with 18000 K,

1 JBL Solar ultra NATUR 54W with 9000K,

1 JBL Solar ultra TROPIC 54W with 4000K.

I think the mix of the diffrent light spectrums make the best illumination.

Both producer sell also tubes for marin tanks, those are:

    Hagen MarineGlo 6700 K

JBL Solar ultra Marin Day 15000K

This light is always very cold and blueish and very bright. I think because no plant-groth is needed in marine tanks, but i'm no expert.

  • what light system do you use? btw nice tank =] im still working on my plants to grow like that, they are so little compared to your plants.

  • I use four fluorescent tubes (13 hours a day with altogether 188 Watts).

Two T5 (54 Watts) and two T8 (40 Watts). All specialized for freshwater tanks.

  • oh thanks, i really admire your aquarium its really nice.

  • Thanks, too.

  • listen pls help i got 2 tubes 25w whats and T8 what those T8 mean and waht diference is betwean T8 and T5 reply thnx

    !?!?

  • T8 and T5 mean the diameter in 1/8 inch. T8 has a diameter of 8/8 inch = 26mm. T5 of 5/8 = 16mm. The smaller T5 have more waffs, so they are recognizable brigther than T8 of a similar length.

  • so T5 is better then T8 right?....and does colour effect mor watts or kelvins lick blue or wighte or pink what difference is between them pls reply thnkz =] ?

  • Yes, T5 are better, they are brighter and have a longer lifespan. But they need more electricity and are more expensive.

Concerning the light colour in Kelvin: I confide the tube producers. I prefer a fifty-fifty mix of blueish light for brighter fish colours and yellowish light for plant growth.

  • dont the t-barbs,bite the fins of the discus?

  • I've no tiger barbs in this tank... Only T-Bar Cichlids.

  • wicked looking tank!!! those keyholes look very healthy.good work

  • Thank you!

  • omg thats amazing i love it as long as u know that the fish are ok thats all that matters but i love how ur plants grow everytime i add new plants into mine my fish eat it anyways i was wondering how often do you have to change the water and how could i go about to achieve something like this should i start with just a couple of plants or buy a bunch thanx

  • I change 60-70% of the water every month. I got very good tapwater in my hometown. I have a illumination with good fluorescent tubes (12hours a day with altogether 188 Watts).

When I start a tank, i try to put as much plants in it as i can get. Therefore i use springs out of my other tanks, too.

I don't use any fertilizer, but if you start a tank it might be helpful to put those fertilizer tablets in the area of the plants roots.

  • if u change 60-70% of water per month i think ph is to high for a south american tank because south amer.. needs ph to 6.5 so to do that u need to take a 20% of your water out and put new taped water every week

so i recomend u do some tests in your aquarium so they can help u but if u do as i sad no need of test ph will come 6.5 whit its self

btw nice tank and fish =]

  • Yes, you say the truth, but there are several ways to lower the pH-value: peat-filtration, alder cones, tropical almond leaves, blend to tapwater with osmose water.

  • The plants grew completely out of control, frequent trimming is a must in such a heavily planted aquarium.

This is pretty much what happens when you just let the plants grow wild.

  • That's a matter of opinion.

I don't like this tank-mishmash with trimmed plants. A fish tank have to look like a jungle not like a stone desert.

And a nice side effect: The water quality is much better this way.

  • I agree it has a certain natural charm, but an overgrown aquarium has down sides too. Such as the loss of light in the lower regions, loss of space for the fishes and the loss of aesthetic value.

  • Ok. It's important that no fish gets harmed. Thats right.

  • what kind of ferts or supplementation do you use for your plants. do you have a co2 system?

  • I think the water in germany has a very good quality. thats one reason why the plants grow so good. When i add some plants into the fishtank i put a fertilizer tablet into the ground under their root. But thats all.

  • i dont know if its just me but... its a like cramp dont you think? the fishes have little room to swim about...

  • The room to swim is still 420 liter, with plants in it or without. Most fish don't need to swim in free water, and they love to hide between plants in their natural habitat.

  • awesome! I love South American setups.. Is it difficult keeping discus in the tank? Do they come up to feed like other fish?

  • It's very dfficult. I recommend to read books about keeping discus before you try it.

  • nice keyholes (i think their keyholes)

  • thx. yes they are keyholes.

  • well done congratulation to you

    verry verry nice tank

  • thank you. :D

  • Thats one giant tank

  • Its 150cm * 50cm * 56cm

    (4.9feet * 1.64 feet *1.84feet)

  • Wow! That is truely stunning.

  • thx =)

  • NICE TANK

  • thx

  • How can you feed them when there are so many plants on the tank?

  • That is no problem. I feed them at the top on the right.

  • thank you all :)

  • F_/\_N_T_/\_S_T_I_K

  • wow, fantastic tank! lovin the dense planting. it's what i'm going to go after when i get my 4ft ;) 5 stars.

  • w0w that tank is beautiful. I love the way you plant your tanks. It is great. Very good job. Tips would be appreciated

  • you do an amazing job on your aquariums!! kudos to you.

  • nice tank and beautiful selection of fish, good job

  • neat

  • thx

  • discus dont snack on the vegetation?

  • No they don't

  • wow nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I wonder what that tank would look like if you added some co2 , i currently use the diy yeast method and it seems to work great. Plus its safe cause it produces co2 slowly so you cant kill yourself. I keep my tank next to my bed and i havent had any problems. Just a thought! Nice tank anywho

  • I thought about using co2, but the plants grow so dense so i decided that would be a bit overdone.^^

  • I son't think you require CO2 them plants look good to me.

    Nice tank :)

  • fantastik, super, woooooow.

    thans for sharing n03lzz :D

  • Great tank! I had to give it 5 stars!!!! Thanks for sharing.

  • How does your blue acara not mess around in the substrate and disturb the roots? mine destroys my plants

  • Hey there, great tank! How long did it take for most of your plants to grow so big? Also, what is the pH level in the tank?

  • the big "Echinodorus" in the middle of the tank is about 2 years old. the other plants circa 5 months. The pH is 6.5-7

  • Im envious of such well developed plants

  • excelent tank...the plants are amazing

  • Great tank man...stop by my page and check out my vids...we have alot of the same fish...I house discus, painted parrots, gouramis, frogs, turtles...you name it...

  • Wow sehr schönes Aquarium. Respekt! ;-)

  • Danke

  • thats one huge tank how much did it cost?

  • A neighbor has concluded with his hobby, and so he has given me his tank for about 30 euros. A new tank like this costs 600 euros in Germany.

  • Wow! Got lucky there then!

  • Nil,wow u must be very dedicated to the hobby :) I find that there are so many people in Europe that really love fish, salt and freshwater. ...I'll be happy to ever livve there :) Can u please tell me if u use fertilizer or special substrate for the plants. Danke

  • I think the water in germany has a very good quality. thats one reason why the plants grow so good. When i add some plants into the fishtank i put a fertilizer tablet into the ground under their root. But thats all.

  • very good! Your plant growth is nice and dense. How long did it take your plants to grow that big?

  • the big "Echinodorus" in the middle of the tank is about 2 years old. the other plants circa 5 months.
