@Guitarstring187 This guitar has the EMG RPC pot. It basically makes a humbucker sound like a single coil and everything in between. Handy little pot.
@kulverse Oh you make them. I want the same thing with P90s - the shitty looking chrome ones. I like the vintage look. How much approx. do you figure?
@tothatextent I'm actually closing shop for the summer, but I can do a parts build for around $600-$900 depending on various things. From-scratch builds are obviously a lot higher in price ;)
@JUMBOpin Just connect the input lead to one lug of the switch and then out to the middle volume lug. Then ground the other lug of the switch. This grounds your signal out with very little "pop"
u r amazing!!!!!! dude!!!!!! i wish i could play like that...i need to learn more styles of playing besides metal, i dont know where to start or who to look up, i just seymour duncan blackouts put in my guitar within the last week
what guitar is that and ur tone sounds amazing love the clean im trying to figuire out if its the blackouts that give that rich amazing clean or ur guitar/amp can u help me im looking forward to my own pair of blackouts in a shecter hellraiser avenger and can u tell me what the difference is between AHB 1 AHB 2 and AHB 3
i never thought active pickups could get such nice clean tones. i tried out a guitar with emgs and they sounded like my cat having a hairball and taking a dump at the same time. you get the picture they sounded terrible. i personally wont buy any pickups besides by duncans and dimarzios. those are the 2 greatest pickup companies of all time. as for which ones i usually choose it depends on the wood. if its alder or ash dimarzio. if its mahogany or maple usually the duncans. its all preference :)
how much was that guitar cause i want a j5 one and put a black pick gaurd on it and i was wondering if u could put a wammy on it by changeing that bridge
these might be the blackouts normal model as they actually have a full nice clean tone. the blackout metals demos seem to have a grainy thinner clean tone and sounded their best for full on metal. id be really surprised if the set in this tele are the metal versions.
Puted? Yeah... the client wanted a demo of various styles besides metal. This is not my guitar. Anyway, i figured it did the bluesy thing well. I didn't do any metal (which is my main form of music), because it didn't show the dynamics of the pickup.
Seriously impressed with the tonal variety of that particular guitar/pickup combination and I've always thought that a killswitch + toggle set-up would be quite awesome.
I definitely would vote for the Blackout's in any case. I have installed plenty of EMG systems for people and the Blackouts just have a bit more personality to them.
This video shows the versatility of them, but I would use them for my metal band no problem as well.
theyre EMG pickups, probably 81/85's you can buy em for about 125$ in music related place but it'll probably cost around 30 to 40$ to install em unlss you do it urself
jeez, i was actually looking into getting blackouts recently and went for invaders instead. totally a mistake, i've heard the heavy leads these things can do in toher vids, and your video showed the beautiful cleans it can pull off, along with nice distortion. those things are sweet, and you're a really good guitarist man, very good.
Thanks man! I have since got a blackout for the bridge position in my own Strat and the Gilmour EMG SA's for mid and neck with the Gilmour electronics. It really sounds great with all styles.
I accidently "removed" a comment that asked me why i bought $180 pickups to play this gay shit. Well, I didn't the client who bought the guitar did and I have no idea what kind of music he is playing with it. However, i was asked to show the versatility of the guitar with video. Slopping tons of gain and playing chugga chugga doesn't really achieve that now does it?
im thinking about doing this to my fender tele custom. my main concern is the pickguard. did you make the pick guard? or is there a place where they sell it like that?
That would not be a Manson guitar i have a almost identicle guitar same pickguard and brand he jsut added things into it that is a Fender Telecaster Custom
Not an EMG fan really. I play high gain tech-metal mostly, and When I used this guitar with high gain it really sung well. Had it's own personality. I did not tune down this one before I sent it off to the owner, so I can't say how well it handles the low tunings. My guess is it does well. These pickups are bight as hell though.
My suggestion for high gain applications are BG Hellabuckers. best high gain P'ups IMO.
Cool guitar man, nice playing.
*Check my Blackout Tele demo.

Very nice sound from the black outs. Are you using two blackouts. If so how did your sound do a 180. It went froma fender sound to a demarzio sound.

one question: did you have to install a battery pack on your guitar's body for the seymour duncans? cheers!
madhattersteacup 3 years ago
Logically you wouldn't need to.
Just wrap the battery with some foam so it doesn't ground stuff out and you should be fine.

It's a rotary switch right under the master volume. Top row is master Volume, master Tone. Bottom row is P'up selector, EMG RCP
kulverse 3 years ago
did you customize it?
nxcxlldxtx 3 years ago
Is that clean im gettin a set just wondering because i heard they already add gain?
erics4290 4 years ago
Nope. Had a bit of dirt on it. They do clean, but will push an amp a bit more than passives will. Tubes will break up quicker
