  • “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”

  • I remember watching this programme. Dambisa's arguments are compelling (even though, quite often, unexpected, unforeseen events and innovations often emerge from the "left field" to confound conventional wisdom and change the course of history). I Can't choose between an attractive, brilliant, young African woman and an alluring mature, velvety voiced, Scottish brogue speaking white woman!!

  • This is one daughter of Africa who is shining the light and showing the way. It's a call to African youths out there- it's in you. What can change our continent for the better is all in you, just reach out and develop those potentials.

Dambisa Moyo is an erudite scholar and prolific writer, I bet this new book is another classic- just as Dead Aid was. Hope to read it soon. Thank you for posting these reviews.

I'm African and I'm proud of you.

  • The old saying goes 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.'

  • This man should SHUT UP and listen 'Dambisa knows what she is talking about she is an AFRICAN born and Bred ..This Man is talking' from what he watches on Tele!-We all know that Western aid is dead indeed but that's how the WEST want to keep Africa as a dark Continent..'' Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

  • i think with tech available dictortors and large countrys with massive numbers of citizens like china and resources or money will win, china will win beacause it was a iron hand controlling all things and with strategy based on growth and smart politics the usa is a tired uk colonial war thinking country with lazy corrrupted distracted ppl, look at all colonial powers all fell beacause that and debt and usa will fall aswell, democracy also worked against us, we need national protec. were soft

  • Like, you're absolutely gorgeous, and brilliant, too. You go, girl!

  • I didn't find him very convincing when he claimed the US was on its way to solving its deficit problems. I see no evidence of that. The US is going to do what it always does, create a Pearl Harbor style crisis before it reacts.

  • So when does china overtake the US as the best most innovative economy in the world?

  • Dambisa looks especially good in this one! This guy is casting his vote for the status quo. Well, he's an older gentleman and perhaps his worldview is narrow. I think Dambisa (excuse me, Dr. Moyo) came off both deep and sparkling...may she have a long career in front of her. Lots to be done, I'm glad we have someone who discerns the options.

  • Dambisa looks especially good in this one!

  • China does have problems.

  • Leave it to a old white lizard to try to dispute and refute EVERYTHING a well educated, common sense African woman presents- REAL CONCERNS AND REAL SOLUTIONS~ clearly Stellzer is on the side of the West-

  • I need to buy dead aid and this book. I have been watching a lot of her on youtube and im really impressed. She is an intelligent and articulate woman. The world needs more like her.

  • There's nothing sexier than a very intelligent woman who is also beautiful and confident.

  • She seems naive about being belated with 'State Capitalism'.

  • I liked her on Schiff's show, that's why I'm here. I don't really agree with he wish for public sector involvement in education and energy. I like Schiff's take on that better. They agreed that China was a problem and America couldn't continue to borrow to consume. I would of liked to hear her and Schiff talk about education especially.

  • Just heard her on Schiff radio. And she sounded like Schiff. So she is legit. :D

  • So true... she points out the real inabilities of our governments in the west to solve real issues, not populist ones

  • Irwin Stelzer - your typical dinosaur who is holding to the old way of doing business and old thinking. His head is so far up his ass that he can't see what is going on in the real world. He is so typical of the 'American economist'.

The sooner his kind leave the planet and the economy to new thinkers and new paradigms will see the necessary revolution take root. As long as his ilk remains a 'credible source', the future is dark.

  • @northernhat Amen !!

  • china is not really threat. maybe if where gonna stay industrial but our technology is change the way the game is played. they will come close.

  • We should default on this debt the international Wall Street bankers ran up this debt we should take our creditors to court and tell them we don't owe this money.

  • Globalism and the New world order did this. Corrupt trade deals and intention fractional reserve banking collapses.

  • A huge thanks submitter! I really wanted to get the name of that book and see that interview again.

  • Dambisa Moyo both straightforward and diplomatic, rises above the childish put downs fielded her way... bravo.

  • Erwin Staltzer appears simply to rehash colonial and cold war rhetoric. Winston Churchill is long dead as is the notion that the US & the UK have a special relationship.

Erwin also implies that China has no health care infrastructure at all – not a perfect one by a long stretch but certainly not true. One only has to look at the dire situation of many US citizens who require healthcare who find assistance out of their reach to ask why he thought this was a good point of comparison.

  • Dr. Moyo is the voice of reason and the future. I loved Dead Aid, I will be sharing this book with everyone I know.

  • will def share this among my friends . thanks once again dambisa♥

  • Dambisa, please look into private roads and private education systems / school vouchers. They do work much better.

    You can start here:

    School Vouchers: /watch?v=Bx4pN-aiofw

I was a bit dissapointed to hear your views on this issue.

  • Dambisa, great insight as always

  • Dr. Dambisa Moyo drives the points home. A welcome voice from a most serious down to earth political economic intellectual. .

  • Thanks for posting.
