I've always had a soft spot for American cars, despite the fact that they were big, heavy and didn't handle that well, the Corvette has been my favorite for a long time.. and this one, well it handles and goes like no tomorrow, thirsty beast though I bet. the ZR1 did a lap time around the Nurburgring on 27 June 2008, at 7:26.4, a Nissan GT-R did it in 7:24.2 on October 2010 in THE WET Conditions. The GTR is a much better car too, not just performance wise, but everything, fit and finish, ride, fuel economy, reliability, everything! I wonder how much GM paid Leno to do this?

What would be great is if the new C7 ZR1(if they even make it) came with the same engine but twin turbos. You could build more power on the top end, no parasitic loss of spinning a S/C and get better MPG, if that was your thing LOL. I would also love to see someone remove the Eaton SC on the current ZR1 and try a big Kenne Bell on it. New GT500 Cobra also going up to 600HP now. Amazing what's available from the factory these days. ZL1 Camaro "only" 585HP LOL

@freedomsoldier187 i hate to disagree .But, they are totally different power plants for a reason . The Z06 is not bullet proof like the ZR1 . Z06 have a problem with valves dropping . Not Cool . Great cars , Don't get me wrong.

A Z06 would blow away my C6 LS3 .But i will not suck a valve imo

@tencz57 As a future ZO6 buying, seeing that happen lately is a worry. I was considering an 09 figuring the larger sump tank was the cure. Apparently not though. May just hold off a few years when 2010 ZR1's come into my range. I just love what a C6ZO6 has to offer. I live in the land of negative DA in certain months. Going to the drag strip is what I loved and to know a bone stock ZO6 with a DR can dip into high 10's is very alluring. Especially when an 06 can be bought for 40K flat now.

@westy44cal ..Thats your call . I think Z's R great sport cars . Very fast as u know . But GM is getting very tight on warranty work it seems . Simple easy mods and GM is PO'ed ..My C6 LS3 is factory stock 4 a reason and my Chevy dealer can't stand it . I see it on their faces every time i pull in 4 service . Any and all LS engines imo should be modded for the buyers wants and needs . But with GM playing Daddy it can cost u your warranty . Even the great LS 9 likes Headers and CAI (and a tune

Even though they advertise it can go to the track. I haven't read of Ls3's failing. Great base engine and also gets dry sump if a manual. I hope they revise the new C6Z but keep it 427.8cubes. Screw this 5.5L DOHC talk LOL

Course the dry sump is also on the Z . Everyone knows that . On the On-Star statement , i believe your totally right .
