@alexfromgalax87 The “Ring Announcer” as you call him was Johnnie Addie.
Your adulation of commentator Don Dunphy might be understandable if it relates to his excellent “blow by blow” radio commentaries when you were unable to see the fight for yourself. However, when you can actually watch the fight, it is annoying to hear him constantly describing each and every punch several seconds after you have seen it land. You may like to hear this but I don’t.
@leoseries57 don dunphy was one of the greatest boxing commentators EVER! how can you call him annoying. besides, you only have to press mute you know. job done. no need to slate the guy.
This is how you like to see old boxing rivals after the fighting's over. Good cameraderie and any personal bitterness would be looked upon as unbelievably childish.
Incredible rivalry, and two great champions. The 40's and 50's had some of the toughest fighters ever. I have seen some great middleweights, but the only one in my life that could have lasted in that era was Marvin Hagler.
I don't mean to be disrespectful here but has Zale had a stroke? His face seems to have slipped slightly on one side and I can't make out what he's saying.
The commentator was so annoying - he still thought that he was on the radio!

Tony zale looks a lot like Whitey bulger. Both tough irishmen.

@Kainnmaul Tony Zale was tough but I doubt he was an irishman. His real name was Anthony Florian Zaleski. I suspect he was a very tough Polak.

@frankmachin Your right about him a polak, but you have to admit he looks a helluva lot like Whitey.
