  • one of the best rock groups ever,he used to come over to the shiloh il.area back a few years ago,i used to see him ride his harley around town, just like a normal guy that he is.

  • Awesome song. Gotta love it!

  • "and all that"

    .

  • In 1975, while stationed in Thailand, I purchased top of the line stereo equip. on the cheap!! The best Pioneer turntable & double cassette player. 15' woofers =). After that, albums got played once to record it on a cassette until the cassette was worn out. I have over 500 albums, played 2, maybe 3 times at the most. Think I'll get much for them when I retire? Anyone want every album ZZ Top put out?=)

  • seems to me you just turn your pretty head and walk away. walk away

  • I have The Best of James Gang on Vinyl and with an old record player through a new receiver with good speakers I dont get any scratches for the most part and the sounds is clear as day.

  • Have The best of James Gang on Vinyl such nice sounds.

  • It's the music that counts, not scratches. I grew up with records and never enjoyed listening to scratches, especially when the record would skip. The scratches are an unfortunate byproduct of this medium and are, sad to say, unavoidable over time. This is magnificent and classic James Gang. Joe is one of a kind. I can tell you right now that seeing and hearing the music of this period live was incomparable. It was vibrant, raw, loud, and clear as a bell. And there were no scratches.

  • @singinjohnny i thought he totally sold out when he joined the Eagles. Kind of like jerking off like Lindsey B did with Fleetwood Mac. I just didn't buy their records, I still think the Eagles are highly overrated and I have NEVER bout anything but Mac since Then Play On.

  • i wouldnt "walk away" from this great song!

  • @SuicideisBrainLess nicely done my friend, nicely done

  • @SuicideisBrainLess nice; just what youtube needs: horrible, shameless puns. Seriously, wouldn't it be so much better to see rows and rows of deliciously evil plays on the name of the group or tune rather than millions of justin beeber comments? thanks for the chuckle.

  • Did anyone else notice the lack of a solo missing? The only solo I note starts @ 2:35. We play this song as a regular in set 2, and it took me forever to get that Walsh sound and feel down tight. Amazing performer and musician!

  • Joe is the man , great song

  • Thanks Catheter roy.

  • Love the mix, brings back a lot of memories. Seems to me to in a key between Ab and G??? Probably a belt slipping on the old turntable!

  • This version is good in the nostalgia way but I like clean sound. Your right though, No one is wrong. it's subjective to your taste. There are people still listening to 8 tracks. Are they wrong? I heard this on 8 track back in the 70's. But I don't want to hear it that way again. Great song by a great band.

  • This version is my favorite

  • we like the music the way we heard it originally. even if it was crappy. scratches and all are imbedded in the memories.

  • As for the sound argument... For me, this gives it the feel of the perfect live concert. It's not the same as live but the vintage feel it lets off gives me the same type of feeling. Live performance with no errors vs. digital sound. That's is why I choose this and why nobody is right or wrong on this one. Do you like a good show... or do you like perfect sound through technological advances in music.

  • so i was watchin VH1 the other day and they said bands like daughtry and shine down are the face of american rock and roll today and it made think of bands like this and how shitty rock and roll is now

  • I like live versions of this better....Fox gets looser on the drums

  • Nice tune, good solid music thanks.

  • Tom Kriss was the perfect bass player....always busy but never too busy. Good groove

  • Joe always has that chanka-chong sound on the guitar, had it then, had it with the Eagles, and on his solo stuff like Lifes been to me so far, and I love it.

  • Upstroke-downstroke, Not that I'm trying to make it sound easy. Joe Walsh does that for us.

UHOH! HERE COMES A FLOCK OF WAH-WAHS!

  • ducarai d+

  • Rockn the Fillmore is the LP to hear this song from that album friggen ROCKS I cut my teeth for "Good Rock" on it I remember twisting up some real tai stick or packing a nice bowl of red leb or some afgany hash or REAL hash oil and puttin on Rockn the Fillmore or some Humble Pie and melting into the couch and into oblivian ahhhhh those were the days lol

  • I forgot about this song.

  • She did a great job, however, she flubbed a lot of lyrics. Possibly on purpose.

Over all though, I loved this performance!

  • damn, everytime i hear this song just puts me in a GOOOODDDD mood

  • live version of this is great. acually their whole live cd is amazeing. give it a listen.

  • nirvana lol funny kurt wouldnt even be a name if he didnt kill him self sad thats not good rock

  • this version from 1971, seems to sound a lot better than the "eagles versions". But, Joe is great. So what can I say anyway...*

  • One of the greatest rock songs ever. Great to hear it on a scratchy old 45, too!

  • MrHorrorFan. Loltz... it's the BEST! I agree 100%. The "...scratchy" is amazing! Who cares? The music sounds REAL and RAW. The way it should. Peace. :)

  • You people are delusional.

  • In what regard?

  • You act like listening to a damaged record that's been digitized using lossy compression is better than listening to a compact disc dubbed from the master.

  • You underestimate the power of analog, and overestimate digital. Today's music quite often sounds like crap. Plus, there's a nostalgia value you obviously don't appreciate. To each his own.

  • Without bothering to get into the particulars of digital signal processing, how is it still analog when it's been digitized to a lo-fi monophonic stream and you are listening to it over the Internet?

  • I like the pretentious know-it-all attitude you have, and how ironic it is that you think it's been "digitized to a lo-fi monophonic stream" when it's actually in STEREO, STUPID!!!

Yeah, it's when it has DIFFERENT things going on in each channel...that's how to tell, Mr. Know-it-all asshole.

  • Why do you have to be so damn aggressive about it?

  • @Ethaninja

    Me?

  • Whoever it was getting heaps aggro over something so trivial.

  • @Ethaninja

I thought it was between discardaudio and MrHorrorFan...I merely corrected one of 'em, so SHUT THE FUCK UP!

    Just kidding

  • Hehehe fair enough.

  • Look, asswipe. I have my opinion, and you have yours. If you don't agree, that's fine. But getting pissed off because I made a comment that it was a novelty to hear an old-school 45 instead of some over-produced, computerized digital music, to the point that you're getting insulting about it? That shows a real lack of maturity, intelligence, and belies your insecurity. Anyone who gets this pissed off at people for not sharing their opinion is really sad. I pity you. Get a girlfriend, loser.

  • "Get a girlfriend, loser."

My personal life none of your concern, but how is this digital video of a damaged record being played still analog?

  • And, I don't give a shit if you own every peice of vinyl ever pressed. You obviously don't know the first thing about good music.

  • Delusional? So people have different tastes. What's delusional is labelling people whose opinions are different than yours on such a trivial subject that affects nothing as "delusional".

  • Wow. And still you're getting riled up over simple opinions over something so insignificant. Hey, I might or might not agree with your opinion (I haven't stated either way), but the way you're reacting is pretty funny.

Save your outrage over more important issues and opinions. This is a Joe Walsh video so just relax and enjoy.

  • What got me riled up is this fuckhead calling me an idiot, because I didn't know about his collection of vinyl records. But, you're right. I've wasted enough time on this retard...

  • I'm not sure if you thought I was talking about you, I was actually saying that the other guy was overreacting and insulting.

No problem though, that guy was being an ass. He can't seem to handle differing opinions.

  • Yeah, I thought you were talking about me. Woops! But thanks. Glad someone else can see what a moron he is.

  • "No problem though, that guy was being an ass. He can't seem to handle differing opinions."

Sorry, but I don't suffer fools gladly.

  • Fools? People were simply expressing their opinion on what they like. You act like YOUR opinion is fact. Some people like raw scratchy recordings while others like crisp digital sound. It's only differing tastes. Get a grip man.

  • "Some people like raw scratchy recordings while others like crisp digital sound."

You have the right to be stupid.

  • Yeah? You going to whine about it? Looks like you already did.

  • "This is a Joe Walsh video so just relax and enjoy. "

It's a recording of a scratched record when good copies are just a click away on iTunes and Amazon.

  • Yeah? That's on iTunes and Amazon. Why does it hurt you so much that people want to listen to a scratched recording? Too fucking weak to handle other's tastes I guess.

  • I agree, man. I LOVE the scratches. It makes me think of bygone days. Music is over-produced and over-engineered these days anyway

  • Reminds me of playing old albums years ago !! The complete clean sound isnt always the best.

  • i didn't know that the james gang made this song... wtf : - I

  • Hellz yeah. GREAT FUNKIN SONG!

  • I have and still love to listen to James Gang. They are ageless and timeless --

good music gets those kind of credentials.

  • And they say Nirvana invented grunge. I don't know about you, but this is as grungy as it gets and came out 20 years prior. James Gang and Joe Walsh rocked then and always will!!

  • Comment removed

  • Difference is, Joe and the boys weren't moody adolescents, like so many grungers were.

  • THANK YOU! I'm glad somebody else knows whats up.Keep on Rockin.

  • The James Gang played the Teen Fair in Cleveland in . . . 1969 or 1970. I worked there that summer and this really rocks!

  • Have an original James Gang album from the 1970s, still love it!

  • I love the James Gang, actually have one of the early albums, original from the early 1970s. Loved it! still do!

  • Wish this one had the guitar solo

  • Cleveland Rocks !!!!

  • The GOOD version (that is the mono single version) of this classic! This one rocks out so much better than the crummy stereo version heard on classic rock stations. Thanks for posting.

  • It is stereo, you fucking idiot.

  • this song is funky

    and i like it

  • texas2007

    HOOCH E COO
