  • Love his bassing. I own a black fender just like his. Underrated band.

  • what a super awesome song, phil was one of the best writers of all time

  • saw Thin Lizzy in 82', 83'

  • i really like this song! i can feel it in my bones, this is the one!

  • where can i find a DVD with live shows from 1983? some of their best songs were played on this tour but i cant find a DVD for this anywhere... Thin Lizzy rocks \m/ RIP Lynott

  • @Mattylce You can get it on play.com "Thunder and Lightning" one of their last gigs together in 83 live in Dublin a brilliant DVD and a fitting end in their hometown

  • @Mattylce this is from the Hitchin gig in 83. it is available on dvd. PM me for more info

  • God just listen to his vocals from 0:26-0:32. Fucking epic. Wait, what the hell am I talking about? 0:00-3:44 is epic. R.I.P. Phil, you are dearly missed, you checked out too soon man.

  • Its difficult to put into words just how good this is... the lyrics are superb.. solid bass line... extremely melodic and heavy at the same time... and the way it finishes makes me want to play it over and over again.

  • Debute xxxx

  • This just Rocke The Verry Core of Mi Soul!

This is without a doubt One of the Best Ever.

  • Lynott has not yet achieved his glory.

Should have been awarded to him whilst alive.

    Never happened.

Glorious music left behind for us to listen to though.

Out of all contemporary artists that have changed music forever in the 20thC I can imagine composers of centuries before smiling upon him in the same way they smiled and listened to Lennon/McCartney.

The Beatles rightly have the plaudits.

    Lynott deserves his too.

  • and p.s I really hope there is a life after this

  • It Is true the best dies ahead of the smart and stupid ones, Well I Will we see Jimi with Phillo playin with some with Rory Ghallager as vocals and lead guitar?

Will always miss you Philip even if I never saw you live, but adiccted too you song's yes indeed I remmber hearing on the radio The Boys are back in town and Jailbreak even the cowboy song and Yes the cover on Bob segers Rosalie, never though you would die and i don't think anyone else though so.

  • ;-)

  • davyaelmans....: Don't worry; true Rock'n'Roll NEVER dies!!! :oD

  • he sounds a bit depressed....

so sad he died, biggest loss in music since hendrix. and in august les paul died. guys...rock n roll is dieing!:(

or is it? sykes is still goin' and the new generation will soon step up, guys like me. teenagers hating pop listening to rock all their lives playin guitar or whatever since they we're 10 years old. we have a true: new wave of classic metal

  • Phil Lynott loves Pop music you can easily hear it on his solo and half of thin lizzy's hits from fighting to thunder and lightning. Hell he even mentions on some show that one of his favorite songs and videos are from tina turner and prince.

  • @davyaelmans im with you on that one!

  • @davyaelmans

best comment since "let's form a militia and kill all of the music abominations"

i'm with you in the new wave!

  • @davyaelmans hes was loaded on H... still the best songwriter ever

  • @davyaelmans

I agree completely. But for you to say that 'people like you' are going to fill Phil Lynott's shoes, then I completely disagree with you. How DARE you make such a pompous statement.

  • @iTubeYourDadsMinge Well I didn't mean that when i said; guys like me. But what i meant to say with that part of my comment is that there will be new people that will keep rock n roll going, not that anyone was going to fill the shoes off Phil. He was a unique artist, with a very distinct style. And hey, I guess that about 50(?) years ago phil was one of those guys playing music since a young age...i mean you gotta start somewhere right

  • Damnit!!!! I was born in the wrong decade!!!! I would've loved to seen "Lizzy". but i was only 2 when they quit.

  • Thin Lizzy! Esta é única!!

  • esta rola me gusta un chingo..

  • I think he died shortly after this tour. He doesn't look well. Truly a very sad, sad day.

  • he died in 86 man, but yeah definately a sad occasion. R-I-P Philo

  • esto es grandioso....

  • Awesome song from an awesome genious. Legends live forever :))))

  • Thin Lizzy grabbed this young lad by the bootstraps and never let go.Such raw power, such drive, such intensity. They rocked then and they will always rock.

  • I love this song to the lyrics are amazing

  • I Love this song !!! One of the best !!!

  • AGREE!!!!!!!

  • Cheers mate, really enjoyed this. Where was the gig? I think I may have been there, (at the tender age of 15). Was it Belfast? I have some pics of Phils grave taken in Nov.

  • i'm drunk- and this is the greatest video i've ever seen.

you ain't gonna out tuff thin lizzy. it aint gonna happen.

    rip phil. we love you

  • exellent album...the heaviest Lizzy album and one of their best in my opinion.

  • This is one of my all time favourite albums...1 it has some how been overlooked, every home should have one...! peace

  • Living on and on!

  • excellent

  • John sykes = the best

  • WOW!! I havent heard this song in ages! GREAT SONG!! Sykes and Lynott rule

  • If you listen to the words, Phil is basically describing his own demise..."got to find a new vocation/my brain's destroyed" and "hellbent on hellraising"...Basically he's describing his lifestyle and that it's killing him but he knows that "this is the one" and the only one he will ever want to be.

This is just one of many songs Phil wrote about himself though...why didn't people notice sooner? I don't know...its kind of sad. Good song though.

  • You are so correct. I never thought of that but he is sweating like hell and a mess by this time....great call

  • Along with Got To Give It UP. Very sad that no one noticed.

  • they had a great sound!! are they still together?

  • To fraginat0r

Unfortunatly they split up after this tour in 1984 and while there was some talk of reuniting Phil Lynott (frontman) died in 86 from his excessive lifestyle.

The other members reformed the band though Brian Downey the drummer eventually left but the two guitarists John Sykes (stage left wavey hair) and Scott Gorham still do the occasional gig with Sykes providing the lyrics.

  • Thin Lizzy does more than 'the occasional gig' they are touring a LOT.

  • If this doesn't get your blood boiling and heart pumping..

  • This Is,.. My Favorite Jam on this DVD! It Rocks!

  • Hi,yes.. this sounds A.M.A.Z.I.N.G., but from what particular DVD is this? I'm some time away from rock music but .. have to come back and refresh memories

  • I have had this bootleg for since the late 80's. Good to see this song on YouTube!

  • This is so good!

  • I KNOW there is more of this footage out there, somewhere. Where can I find it!!

    Thanks & Rock On... \m/

  • amazing song

  • Thank you!
