Martino converts everything to minor, since everything can be broken down into a minor triad of some sort. Even an Aug triad is a harmonic minor. Speaking of that, always play the natural 7th instead of the b7th, this gives a little more oomph to the lines. This is basically a diminished Whole tone scale, and sounds really jazzy. Also practice playing lines horizonally (up & down the fretboard) rather than vertically (one position) Also I ove to use arpeggios as they are little tonal modules
sounds great...im happy you didn't do the pat martino lick for 2 minutes...you did all of them...you would be a great man if you were to put up some instructional videos...that style is very difficult to make.
Hi and thanks!, It took about 3-4 months. Some great lines for sur, I think this one ranks right up there with his best IMO. Every time I hear him play it I am just floored. I just wish I could do it Justice. btw the entire subscription is out on the internet, If I remember it's on some website in Switzerland. I just wish the camera had been rolling for the ending, thats my favorite part ;-)

Thanks but I wouldn't even think of trying to instruct anyone in Martino's style as his playing scares the hell out of me.
