Blind Melon wasn't only Blind Melon with Shannon...Brad, Chris, Tom, and Glen deserve as much recognition as Shannon does. Nobody during their time played like them and nobody does now. I've seen them with Travis and while he is no Shannon I was glad to see Brad, Chris, Tom, and Glen still do Blind Melon's songs with a more than decent fill in. Believe it or not it keeps Shannon alive still. Hopefully, now they can find somebody new and as good as Travis at least.

First off a--holes..Blind Melon put Blind Melon on the map. Secondly and odd story. My best friend, the drummer for Lords Of Acid, had gotten the same tour bus that Shannon Hoon died on (a few years later mind you) and their bass player at the time had almost died of a drug/alcohol overdose in the same f-ing spot that Shannon did. My bud Kurt said he (the bassist) thought he was crawling towards the front but actually went the wrong way and got help from another band mate while choking. NO JOKE.
We were hinting towards MAP, the Musicians Assistance Program. It was Hoon's death that I think shook the music world to actually do something about this. This is where we were coming from. We in no way meant to indicate that his death was the basis for the band's fame and success.

I still listen to the OLD BL pretty near every day.

i saw blind melon on tour with travis and it was one hell of a show.
granted travis did tend to forget the lyrics to some of the old songs.
but who cares now, he's not even with the band anymore, and i doubt they will find anyone as good as either of those two to take their place.

Blind Melon wasn't only Blind Melon with Shannon...Brad, Chris, Tom, and Glen deserve as much recognition as Shannon does. Nobody during their time played like them and nobody does now. I've seen them with Travis and while he is no Shannon I was glad to see Brad, Chris, Tom, and Glen still do Blind Melon's songs with a more than decent fill in. Believe it or not it keeps Shannon alive still. Hopefully, now they can find somebody new and as good as Travis at least.

Blind Melon had a number one hit while touring with Hoon. Of course, the death of a front-man often increases or sustains sales at the least, but they were quite successful regardless of and prior to his death.

First off a--holes..Blind Melon put Blind Melon on the map. Secondly and odd story. My best friend, the drummer for Lords Of Acid, had gotten the same tour bus that Shannon Hoon died on (a few years later mind you) and their bass player at the time had almost died of a drug/alcohol overdose in the same f-ing spot that Shannon did. My bud Kurt said he (the bassist) thought he was crawling towards the front but actually went the wrong way and got help from another band mate while choking. NO JOKE.

We were hinting towards MAP, the Musicians Assistance Program. It was Hoon's death that I think shook the music world to actually do something about this. This is where we were coming from. We in no way meant to indicate that his death was the basis for the band's fame and success.
