i think it connects the buttons to the machineroom and the power to the cab to feed the lights.

its kinda strange on this elevator, the elevators i have been om had 4 or more cables. this elevator has only 1.

I seen three cables on Peabody Hotel elevators that I've recorded and only two at the Arvest Bank Building. And it's interesting to see the two speed doors on a glass elevator.

Power for lights and the doors the computer behind the panel and other stuff

and it is the main cable connecting the cab to the controller in the machine room
