@Dorisequador well if you want to know how it works i suggest you start learning a lot of math and become a doctorates in electrical engineering and coding. but itll just take 1000 frames per second and the camera will slow the finished videos frame rate down into real time (30 frames per second). so 1 second of real time holding down the record button would yield 1000 frames on the camera, hence it would then turn that video to 30 fps getting you a video time of 33 seconds or so, or about 5m

To second my previous comment...the Casio Exilim EX-FH models are trash, they record video in the .AVI format which has horrible qulaity. If you want an Exilim ONLY buy the F1.

I work with this camera almost everyday in the tactical munitions industry. This isn't the best camera for still-shots but if video is what you want, you got it. High-Speed Video doesn't have sound, but standard and HD does.

Megapixels aren't really a very important aspect of digital cameras for most consumers. The reason this cost so much is the high speed video modes anyway.

I can answer that. I got one ;). The camera is incredibly agile, because it can shoot High-Speed (HS), High definition (HD) and normal DVD quality video. On the regular camera side, it takes awesome pictures although it is not a SLR. It has an awesome battery life and the screen has a great resolution. When going through the images you've taken, you can use the scroll-wheel to go through 10 images per second. And the burst-mode is TOTALLY awesome! Many different uses for that mode.

It can take an external microphone. It would be great for video interviews and vlogging but for the fact that the display can't be moved around to face the front so that one can video oneself.

I am going to make this plain and simple for the MORONS out there.

This camera is for getting lots of action shots at high speed (basically your freeze framing a camcorder image) and its not a quality camera.

I want quality not quantity thats why I have a SLR.

First of all a 1080p plasma 56 inch can barley display 3 megapixels so what do I need 10 megapixels for again? an extra 3 megapixels is more than enough to zoom and crop. I don't know how adding more dots that no monitor can display would consider that quality?

On a 8MB SD card you can shoot about 2 hours said one review. SD cards come in a lot of speeds, and you probably cant use the slowest.

To deanbed: The amount of pixels doesn't correspond to image quality. 6MP is enough for "quality single shots". You can make large prints with 6MP. Lets just hope that casio gives the F1 good optics and non-destructive noise reduction. (Anyone familiar with Casio cameras knows about the blotchy, blurry NR).

It takes HD movies too. It is a hybrid. For most amateurs (i.e. most of us) 6MB is enough for stills. Rather than providing Pro quality stills, Casio are going down the hybrid road. I have one of the precedessors p505 and I really liked it for staps and way more youtube quality video. The problem with this camera is that the view finder does not point forward.

And obviously, it is not for magazine covers, but most of us here on Youtube do not shoot magazine covers.

Sounds ok, for action shots and mainly a movie camera, but not if you are after quality single shots. it also only has 6 million pixels a bit low for a new camera.

More megapixels are not a good thing if you want to take photos in low light.

Or if you want to take photographs quickly.

If the size of the sensor stays the same (usually they're small in a P&S) then the more pixels you cram onto it the smaller each one is. That means it gathers less light, there's more electronic noise to deal with compared to the image, and it gets harder to get a good image as it gets darker.

If you have a 12megapixel image, it's going to take twice the time to write to a memory card than a 6megapixel image. If taking photos quickly in a burst is needed, then smaller may be better.

I am sorry but if you want quality you would buy a decent SLR that is built to handle the higher pixels. this sounds gimmiky and for technopobes and I doubt the quality of the shots. even a decent SLR shooting at 9 frames per second will capture more than you need with higher quality.

Sorry I am not sold on the specs Quality pictures require a high quality SLR. as they require more than just camera speed.

Cropping is useful. You don't need a zoom if you have enough pixels. But for the most part (unless a pro like yourself taking magazine covers) pixels become pretty useless to most users over about 8MB.
