We , as Canadians, right or wrong, basically only cared about the hockey result. The rest was a bonus! But then he made one tiny mistake as he deflects the puck to his right side, so Sid was able to play a littel give-and-go with Jarome Iginla. Honestly, I wished the US would have won it, because I never thought of seeing them in the gold-medal-game. They for sure had a qualitiy roster, but not as far as good as the Russian's one and imo the Swedes had a better roster, too. The magic of MIller n the little rink made it happen

Well, cosidering Americans weren't even allowed to show their nation's flag on Grainville street days leading up to the game (or face arrest), nor were any tickets given to Americans for the game itself, it sort of made Canada look a bit sour. Lots mudslinging on both sides since.
Funny, I saw numerous people with American flags and a ton of american fans at the game... But oh well, it's shown differently on tv in the states, than it was up here.

ya no kidding what a thriller. you can't really play hockey in the summer in either country and most ice surfaces that are playable are indoor. Hockey is better in Canada because we bleed hockey much like football and baseball in the US, I don't think that will ever change. The fact that the United States has a far greater population, even in the more northern states gives them an opportunity to produce good hockey players as well. Both awesome teams though.
Good job Canada, you guys won fair and square. I'm American and feel that both teams worked extremely hard and played well. It was a great (and very close) game, so no one should really talk trash.

I don't know why everyone [mainly americans] continue on arguing over the stupidest things. This game was GREAT, clean, fast paced, so very close. I mean, it did take OT to settle it, with the Canadians coming out on top. Like it should be, Hockey is a Canadian game, American NHL teams are made up of ATLEAST 55% Canadian players, just look at Philly & Chicago in the finals.. You can all act like idiots, but it won't change the fact, Canada won and is #1.

Well, cosidering Americans weren't even allowed to show their nation's flag on Grainville street days leading up to the game (or face arrest), nor were any tickets given to Americans for the game itself, it sort of made Canada look a bit sour. Lots mudslinging on both sides since.

ya no kidding what a thriller. you can't really play hockey in the summer in either country and most ice surfaces that are playable are indoor. Hockey is better in Canada because we bleed hockey much like football and baseball in the US, I don't think that will ever change. The fact that the United States has a far greater population, even in the more northern states gives them an opportunity to produce good hockey players as well. Both awesome teams though.
