A terrible tragedy to say the least although I think the premise is weak for being an atheist. An atheist would not be so mad at an imaginary character. This sounds more like anti-theism to me. In other words why if you are an atheist would you hold something that you don't believe in responsible for your sisters death? A christian theist point of view is that this life is not all there is but we do have free will. By the way I lost my son in death and do not blame God and I believe he exists.
That makes sense. My mom's dad got ALS & died in 1959 when he was 36 & my mom was 6; my great grandfather with my same last name had a heart attack & died when he was 39, my grandmother's dad ate spoiled fish in a restaurant in New York & died a few hours later in 1940. A really nice great aunt of mine got cancer & died when I was 11 & a grandmother of mine smoked & died when I was 9 & she was 67; these things may not really be why I'm an atheist but they certainly are not evidence of a god

I am not smart enough to answer your questions about God, but I thank you for sharing your story and your heart. You and your family are to be admired for the great sacrificial love you all showed your sister, and the tremendous courage it must have required to care for her those thirty-nine years. I wonder if I would have had the moral fortitude and conviction to do that.

I really do feel bad about your loss... my best friend that I knew for 14 years died of lung cancer. I loved her. But one day I was reading the Bible and i realized that this kind of intense suffering/ pain isn't because God wants to see you suffer, but to build perseverance in Him. I want you to understand where I am getting at... God loves you even if you don't love Him. I'm not going to force this upon you, I just want you to look into this more. Without God, you won't have ANY happiness.

i belive you my mom died at 45 while i was 7 of a liver disease and one thing led to another everything in her body was failing and she went through so much pain her last years that just like you i was kinda happy her pain and suffering was over, i feel your pain

god creates little girls, gives them horrific diseases (or at least god is not powerful enough to stop the disease) (or maybe he has the power but finds it to be a hassle to help these innocent children). My children attend Sunday school with their granparents. The brain washing starts at an early stage where they start to associate God with free sweets and colouring in awful scenes from the bible. Even my 5 year old can see something isn't quite right but she'll decide for herself later

@qwijibo1 The funny thing is that a person can grow up in a perfect Christian family with everything going for them in life and never become a Christian despite how much God has provided for them. My friend looks at himself and sees where he comes from and recognizes that without God he would be stuck in that same family living a horrible life. But because he asked for help, God pulled him up and he is forever grateful for it. His life before accepting Christ as his savior is irrelevant...

The reason people don't turn to God when they have everything is because they don't think they need him, when in fact they do. It takes losing it all and then more for most people to finally realize how much they need a savior. For some, just a realization that living a life a sin will cause God to look at them on the day of judgement...

I had a tumor growing behind my right eye at infancy and they had to remove my right eye to remove the tumor. I have a prosthetic eye. I know the cost of TS. I'm sorry for your pain.
I watched your video, and mid way through it I begun passing the link to it out to my friends through email and messages. I am also an atheist. I also happen to be Canadian. From my experience people seem to arrive at the disbelief in he entity of "God" (that way we have been indoctrinated to believe in) in number of ways. You seem angry, and your denial of god seems to steam out of your anger. You may other reason for non-belifef in God. I recommend anything by Richard Dawkins.
Thanks for sharing your testimony. I'm a Southern Baptist who hopes that you've had or will have someone in your life that will help you process this horrible tragedy. It took me almost five years to come to terms that my father, a very active outdoorsman, became paralyzed when I was 17. Crap sucks, and you know that more than I do. Thanks, again, for sharing.

Also, with any system of belief there are going to be many different opinions within about it. Otherwise why isn't there only 1 literary critic, or movie critic? 1 opinion doesn't give us the full understanding and expression of the literature. Through the years of Christianity there have always been different opinions about what the Biblical literature tells us about God. I've never found anything in the Bible that shows that God causes all things or has determined all things

If he know's there is an earthquake tomorrow (which he would) that will kill millions and doesn't do anything about it, then God let it happen. He may have not caused the earthquake but He sure didn't stop it. Why does he do this? Isaiah 55:8 and Deuteronomy 29:29 answer that. But he is all powerful. The book of Job is relate-able.

@pricer5 there is more to an atheist than just their personal belief. they are human beings just like you or I. they feel pain just like you or I. they can feel emotional pain just like you or I. come to think of it, we share the same sky, we share the same earth, we share the same air. I like the contrast between the bulk of the video and the end. Most of the video was tragic and the very end I for some reason felt was hilarious. Maybe I should try to stop imagining an old guy dressed in white with pearly gates in the background welcoming you to heaven when you kick him in the nuts. Good video, it made me think and feel maybe a very small amount of the pain you feel. I hope I never end up in a similar situation.

My God is an awesome God. Do you know where your little sister is right now? She is in Heaven. She can run, sing and dance, and she can feel no more pain. He is indeed a loving God. All you have to do is believe in his son Jesus and you will be able to see your sister again some day. There is only 1 way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. And for those that have never heard his name, or that have a certain condition which enables them to comprehend, they will also go to heaven.

@AbdultheImpailler it was love that you showed her. love is somthing that everyone can feel and understand. I know she felt that. There was a reason that she could not talk. Only God knows why. It's something no one on earth can understand. She was in life for a different reason. God has a time for everyone. Are body is not meant to last for ever. It's the soul that lifes on. A terrible tragedy to say the least although I think the premise is weak for being an atheist. An atheist would not be so mad at an imaginary character. This sounds more like anti-theism to me. My mom's dad got ALS & died in 1959 when he was 36 & my mom was 6; my great grandfather with my same last name had a heart attack & died when he was 39, my grandmother's dad ate spoiled fish in a restaurant in New York & died a few hours later in 1940. A really nice great aunt of mine got cancer & died when I was 11 & a grandmother of mine smoked & died when I was 9 & she was 67; these things may not really be why I'm an atheist but they certainly are not evidence of a god

I really do feel bad about your loss... my best friend that I knew for 14 years died of lung cancer. I loved her. But one day I was reading the Bible and i realized that this kind of intense suffering/ pain isn't because God wants to see you suffer, but to build perseverance in Him. I want you to understand where I am getting at... God loves you even if you don't love Him. I'm not going to force this upon you, I just want you to look into this more. Without God, you won't have ANY happiness.

My children attend Sunday school with their granparents. The brain washing starts at an early stage where they start to associate God with free sweets and colouring in awful scenes from the bible. Even my 5 year old can see something isn't quite right but she'll decide for herself later

My friend looks at himself and sees where he comes from and recognizes that without God he would be stuck in that same family living a horrible life. But because he asked for help, God pulled him up and he is forever grateful for it. His life before accepting Christ as his savior is irrelevant...

I watched your video, and mid way through it I begun passing the link to it out to my friends through email and messages. I am also an atheist. I also happen to be Canadian. From my experience people seem to arrive at the disbelief in he entity of "God" (that way we have been indoctrinated to believe in) in number of ways. You seem angry, and your denial of god seems to steam out of your anger. You may other reason for non-belifef in God. I recommend anything by Richard Dawkins.

Otherwise why isn't there only 1 literary critic, or movie critic? 1 opinion doesn't give us the full understanding and expression of the literature. Through the years of Christianity there have always been different opinions about what the Biblical literature tells us about God. @DanPrinMan It isn't that God causes all things but he knows all and he is all powerful. If he know's there is an earthquake tomorrow (which he would) that will kill millions and doesn't do anything about it, then God let it happen. He may have not caused the earthquake but He sure didn't stop it. Why does he do this? Isaiah 55:8 and Deuteronomy 29:29 answer that. But he is all powerful. The book of Job is relate-able.

Your objection to the existence of God is an emotional, not intellectual.You are basically saying that because there is evil and suffering in the world then therefor God does not exist,but this justdoesn't follow.You pointed out all the horrible things that your parents and your sister had to go through, and I am sorry to hear this,but how does any of that show that "there is no God".There is a burden of proof on you to show why God and the suffering in the world are incompatible with eachother.

It is the Theist's belief that God exists, and so they have a burden of proof, to show evidence and good reasons for their God existing. Atheist comes from the Greek "A" which means no and "Theist" which means God. You believe that no God exists. And so it is the Atheists BELIEF that there is no God. So my question to you is...what good reasons do you have as to why God does not exist? Your video here did not present any

@pricer5 there is more to an atheist than just their personal belief. they are human beings just like you or I. they feel pain just like you or I. they can feel emotional pain just like you or I. come to think of it, we share the same sky, we share the same earth, we share the same air. I believe that we all can co-exist in unison, and vibrate to the same tune of the infinate mantra that is life itself.

I like the contrast between the bulk of the video and the end. Most of the video was tragic and the very end I for some reason felt was hilarious. Maybe I should try to stop imagining an old guy dressed in white with pearly gates in the background welcoming you to heaven when you kick him in the nuts. Good video, it made me think and feel maybe a very small amount of the pain you feel. I hope I never end up in a similar situation.

My God is an awesome God. Do you know where your little sister is right now? She is in Heaven. She can run, sing and dance, and she can feel no more pain. He is indeed a loving God. All you have to do is believe in his son Jesus and you will be able to see your sister again some day. There is only 1 way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. And for those that have never heard his name, or that have a certain condition which enables them to comprehend, they will also go to heaven.

Owing to a lack of knowledge on your part, you don't know if God exists. So, in the strict sense of the word, you cannot be an atheist. It's something no one on earth can understand. She was in life for a different reason. God has a time for everyone. Are body is not meant to last for ever. It's the soul that lifes on.
