@boGGbeatDown Me too, i was going outside of macys towards powell street and the most bizarre old woman was there with a cat that had a rat sleeping on top of it. eww god i wanted to puke.
@nomeutenterosicky Well, it does kind of look as close to Melbourne as you can get, with the street cars and grid street layout. But no no, the give away is all the hills!
I love San Francisco. It's such a diverse city and full of life with interesting places everywhere. It's perfect to enjoy it with a special someone. The waterfronts and sea towns (like Sausalito just past the Golden Gate) are amazing, the salty air gets your appetite going.
But watch out for hobos, the stench of decay, and assorted weirdies.
San Francisco is all about Chinatown. Without Chinatown.
No Chinatown, then No TransAmerica Pyramid, No San Francisco, and No Downtown.
Chinatown is the heart of San Francisco. In Chinatown, you can go TransAmerica Pyramid. In Chinatown, you can go to the tallest buildings(1st, 2nd, and 3rd) in San Francisco.
You must go Chinatown if you go SF because in CHinatown-Best view of Bay Bridge, Best view of TransAmerica, one of the oldest Chinatown, and it is the heart, of San Francisco.
The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most iconic structures around. Regarding churches, the Sistine Chapel is more well-known. Your argument that history equates to beauty is one of the most asinine and illogical statements I've ever heard. Don't be silly. The United States is the country of the skyscraper. No European city has anything close to the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Sears Tower, Woolworth Building, 40 Wall Street, etc.
I don`t know where your period is, but San Francisco is not one of the most beautiful cities in the world.Only the person ,who didn`t see the world, can say such a nonsense.SF is one of the most beautiful in US, but not in the world.
There's no other city in the world that looks like San Francisco. The hills, bay, Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, and Victorian architecture cannot be found in any other city.
Amsterdam has beautiful architecture, but it doesn't have any natural beauty whatsoever. I've been to Barcelona. It is gorgeous, but isn't as iconic as San Francisco.
Very similar features (hills, bay, bridge, Victorian architecture)you can find for example in Sydney, Australia. Plus , Sydney has iconic architecture like Sydney opera house and beautiful beaches, like world famous Bondi beach(beaches in SF really sucks)and Sydney has much better weather.
San Francisco has a style, but its not unique.SF can be called the most European city in US, but many European cities with they 1000 years of history easily beats San Francisco.
I've never been to Sydney, but based solely on the pictures I've seen, it looks quite different from San Francisco. The only city that even remotely resembles San Francisco is Lisbon, but even then, quite different. San Francisco is more iconic than Sydney - Golden Gate, Bay Bridge, cable cars, Coit Tower, Painted Ladies, Transamerica pyramid, etc. SF DOES have its own style...you are way off base with that one. Guess what... SF is AMERICAN, not Euro.

San Francisco is not even the most visited city in US.Las Vegas is No.1!Its not even in the top5,where besides Las Vegas also is Los Angeles,Orlando,New York and Chicago.I guess absolute dominance of gays and liberals in SF is not so attractive to many people... As for NY,it sure is one of the most important cities in the world, but its importance doesn`t transform in to the beauty.
Your arguments are illogical and aren't based around any sort of proper rationale. Since when is popularity with tourists a measure of greatness or beauty. Don't be absurd.
Not Orlando. Disney World, you may mean, and it is not even in Orlando, it is in Lake Buena Vista. I have never been in SF but in the photos and videos it looks way way better than crappy Orlando.
No Euro city has the same sense of place as SF. PERIOD. Not Vienna, not Barcelona, not Rome, not Florence, not Prague, not Paris, not Monaco, not Madrid, not London, not Zurich, etc. NO CITY. History does not equate to greatness. NYC is the Capital of the World (quite literally). It beats out many Euro cities that are much older.
Where did I say, that "Euro"cities have the same sense of place as SF.They have incomparably better sense than San Francisco! For example Barcelona has Sagrada Familia, wonderful museums like National museum of art or Picasso museum,La Pedrera, Spanish village etc.And there`s magical La Rambla street with its incredible vibe, great beaches also is there.Thats how trully wonderful city should look.SF , like tipical American city, lacks real urban pedastrian street with street theatre, cafes etc.
You need to reread my comments (and yours as well). You're accusing me of putting words in your mouth, which isn't what I was doing. You said SF's style isn't "unique," to which I responded by saying that SF has its own style and sense of place. European cities having more history doesn't make them more beautiful, unique, or special. LOL, name me one Barcelona attraction that is even half as iconic as the Golden Gate Bridge (La Sagrada Familia, while amazing, just doesn't cut it. Sorry!).
OMG.How can you even compare church(Sagrada Familia)with bridge(Golden Gate).Who am I debating to?Your arguments are laughable! And having more history exactly is one of the main components, what makes place more beautiful. That`s why when so many people travel to Europe and come back to the United States, they don`t think we should peresve nothing, because relative to the European greatness, almost everything American looks like nothing.Time is a great master!
That isn't true AT ALL!!!! I'm originally from North Carolina and it is one of the most diverse states in the nation with the Mountains, the beaches and the Metro area....you really didn't need to say that.
Frisco is the 2nd most densly populated city next to nyc...thats why it has that east coast city feeling

I am so glad San Francisco is in California.
Especially LA , with beautiful palm trees, is in Southern. While SF, with beautiful flowers, is in Northern.
California is so beautiful.
