Hey guys thanks so much for all the comments... Sorry I haven't been able to reply to everyone because I've been working on the bike once again lol ... Redid it one more time and I'll post up a new update video and open that up for all questions :)
looks bitchin man, been wantin gto do the exhaust on mine for a while. ive heard from a few different people that replacing the stock pipes with straight pipes will require a minor carb adjustment, and will possibly yield lower MPG. have you noticed anything different as far as performance or anything? keep up the work man, looks great. cheers
Very nice work man. Im rebuilding a 93' and giving it a bobber look too. I was wondering, is the back cylinder pipe functional with your mod or do they join together down were the front pipe is about to end? Im trying to make a working one. Did you make them on stainless steel? Have you noticed any win or loss with them?
love the engine. buying a 2004 virago next week. first on the todo list is the heat paint. did u have to prepare the surface of the engine for the paint? would be hard to get sandpaper or whatever into the gaps. then after that it was just sand paper to take the paint of the tips of the heat fins?
COOL!! I have a 08 Vstar 250 and there are 2 pipes coming off the back cylinder head that connects to the lower muffler. Does your Virago have this same design? If so, what did you do with the exhaust coming from the lower exhaust port from the back cylinder head? There is a parts diagram on babbitsonline. The part I'm referring to is called Pipe, Exhaust 2. I looked at the West Eagle pipes but don't see any connection for the Exhaust 2. Possibly your Virago only had 2 exhaust ports?
That is sweet man, I am doing up my 125 xv at the moment and would love to know how you did everything, paint, exhaust, air filter(which is really the business), where did you buy this all and did you do the paint job yourself?
@scobyobrien i did everything my self at home with bits that i could find that worked... the only thing i didn't do was the paint.. a friend did that for me
