Shigurui (Death Frenzy) doesn't give you a fucking ending... which I found... personally... made the whole build up pointless. It has amazing art, amazing battles and the storyline is rather enjoyable. However... for me, it was like starting DBZ with Goku in Super Saiyan form having a stare-down with Frieza (you know epic shit is about to ensue), then watching all episodes up to the point where Krillin dies and the anime turns around and says, "NO... fuck off. You don't get to see who wins". FFS

Comparing Elfen Lied to Shigurui is like comparing Naruto to Berserk/Blade of the Immortal. Get a grip on your balls and your comprehension - EL is kiddy violence ment to scare children (invisible arms jesus christ) , Shigurui (Death Frenzy) is Seinen...comprehend the meaning behind "adult" and "child". EL is for children, Shigurui is for "adults".

for the amount of blood depicted, i would have to say hellsing ultimate. if they follow the manga exactly, there will be a scene where the entirety of london is flooded in blood. shigurui has a detailed depiction of gore though, not just random red liquid splashing about

@MrShiki22 The thing about Elfen Lied is, it's sci-fi/fantasy-based gore, which needs to be over the top or non-existent with no inbetween.

A manga like Berserk is gruesome (Bisected altar boy's torso being hefted atop a lance?)

Personally I find Elfen Lied's gore to be tame and rather boring compared to things like Berserk (The anime doesn't have much gore, the manga has more), Blade of the Immortal, and Shigurui. Ninja Scroll and Ninja Resurrection are also good in gore aspects.
