uuuuuuuh so u have to beat the first ghost the one that automatically appears wen u choose the level then after u beat that ghost by at least 3 seconds then u have to beat that same ghost to unlock stuff?!?!?!?!?!? is this right i dont get it i guess im just slow lol plz help

I beat this using Baby Luigi and Bullet Bike. My time was 1:55. I beat the Expert Ghost AND the World Champion.

So, an expert ghost staff is how fast the ghost goes around the track, and to unlock them you need to beat the time, right?

each track starts off with only a normal staff ghost unlocked. when you beat this ghost, then you can unlock the expert staff ghost. you don't have to beat the expert's time.

im regional champ on this one its really easy chose the spear bike heavy weight, on the straights do weelies and before the pipe use a mushroom to cut a cross :)

A good way to learn the best way through a course to beat a staff ghost, is too watch the recordings of the expert ghosts. I did, and I have beaten three staff ghosts already, one more to go and I unlock Funky. I think depending on what course you are on, decides how faster than the staff ghost you must be

Do lots of tricks. This level for example, use the a mushroom each lap to drive onto the ramp in the middle of the grass. Then shake the wheel and land on the pavement. An easy 2-3 second gain per lap on the ghost.
