  • now i want an iPad like THAT...

  • oh fuck is that an i pad hahaahaahah

  • Guys, I don't think he had much choice, but to do the chop up. YT has pulled this movie repeatedly from other posts. He didn't need the captions though. Once it's chopped up, it gets around copy rights. So what he should of tried is the whole movie, un chopped, with captions?

  • I see an ipad!

  • weiner

  • amazingly in advance for the era.....movies have made fantastic technological advances in the past 50 years, but this remains a classic...

  • amillionmonkeys.blog.com aren't you curious?

  • Damn those captions are unecessary man, you're killing me.

  • You goddam monkey, all you did was slice balony and waste my time. Did you think you improved it???

  • Did he cut out important parts?

  • MY GOD, ITS FULL OF STARS!

  • the chess moves are 5:30 so similiar to those taken by sabastian and tyrell in bladerunner , only this time then three is replaced by six , thus they are reflected to the other side of the board , "bishop to king 7 checkmate i thankyou"

  • not quite 2001

  • that furturstic food looks good i wann try some

  • Even movies like Logan's Run (1976), Close Encounters (1976), Star Wars All (1977-1984) Outland (1981), Blade Runner (1982) and Alien (1979) and Aliens(1986) Alien 3 (1992) and the TV series Star Trek- didn't have flat screen tvs in it!

This movie went out of its way to do every single detail (recessing SQUARE tvs & making them look flat and ipads sceen 4:00 and beyond ... CRAZY awesome and this is in 1968!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So many didnt even take notice or comment too much, so I figure I would....

mention the strange fact that this film maker- Stanley Kubrick- envisioned tablets such as ipad here, and even computer flat screen tvs when viewing their computer data... in 1968, they didnt even have personal computers. The Xerox Alto had the first personal computer in 1973. Prior to Xerox's Alto- computers were nothing more than lights and switches- NO SCREENS AT ALL!

  • no one even mentions the strange fact that this film maker envisioned tablets such as ipad here, and even computer flat screen tvs (so to speak) even movies like Blade Runner and Alien and Aliens Alien 3 didnt have flat screen tvs in it!

  • Lol , 4:00 they got Ipads

  • every time i wath old futuristic movies from the 1980 i either say why didnt this happen sometimes thank god that this didnt happen any ways as time passed by are future vision are getting cooler

  • Dude movie blows anyway. Great fuckin music and visuals, but weak ass plot and hardley any dialouge. This and eyes wide shut marks Kubriks "shit films", sorry boys and girls just not that good of a movie! Must have mind alternating substances to enjoy

  • @jcrook023 You obviously have the attention span of a 3 year old if you think this movie has a "weak ass" plot. The symbolism in this film is staggering and it shows that Authur C.Clarke had an "insiders" knowledge of what was to come and what is still is happening in secrecy in our space agency and black ops. I would have to say that it takes a bit more maturity to comprehend such things. But you probably would rather be entertained with CGI and dumbed down dream like plots of Harry Potter

  • Well POPEYECOVE it turns out I am making my own full length feature movie. And when its done you can judge for yourself if its good or not. Sorry for making you mad about my edit. Let me stress this again; there is nothing wrong with the original version of 2001 I love it. Classic movies happen to be one of my favorite. The reason why I like them is that there are longer cuts, better performances by the actors and less phony c.g. @PopeyeCove

  • @OmnislashNeo im partly with popeye there right now cuz im trying to find the original jupiter and beyond the infinite scene to show a friend and all i can get are edits with techno and other shit put over it

  • @OmnislashNeo How is your movie coming along?

  • DOnt edit movies watch them as is

  • @BHT70 What are you talking about? You can't upload long videos to youtube unless you are allowed to.

  • Hal 9000 is outstanding

  • I agree with coashhdd. Everything just seems so hurried. And after all of the hurrying, the interview really drags along. This is as far as I go, I'm not watching any more of this.

  • I don't know if I would have done the editing. I don't blame you for getting tempted to satisfy a section of the masses who might feel the film is boring, but it kind of ruins the integrity of the whole thing. If they can't appreciate this movie because they think it's too long or some such thing, let them go put on some cartoons. I do thank you, though, for putting up the movie on Youtube. I've enjoyed watching it again.

  • Can I just ask what is the point of this. Would you go into an art gallery and cut up a Mark Rothko.

  • dude make a dvd of this and post it on fanedit.org

  • lol LIE
