  • The music seriously adds to the atmosphere in the game by using sounds you'd be likely to hear in that location, rather than making a melody out of it.

  • heard this in the Sierra Madre in New Vegas, gave it a really creepy feel sneaking by those damn holograms.

  • @thedragonb0y exactly spot on.

  • When playing the first two Fallout games, the atmosphere, story and music gave you a feel of "doom" for a lack of words. There was like this sensation that everyone and everything went to hell and came back...Worse then before, a scarred world, where everything could go wrong in seconds. Prostitution, slavery, kidnapping, murder,...

Fallout New Vegas is getting there, (it's at least a hell of a lot beter then "the capital Wasteland"), but it stil misses that "earie" feeling, from the originals

  • @muldie101 "eerie".

  • @OwnedByTheState

    THX mom

  • @muldie101 Perfect description of the atmosphere in Fallout 1&2, it was very unique and exotic, which still keeps me coming back for replays

  • I thought Bethesda's take was pretty good. They certainly remained faithful to the source material, and stayed within the series canon. The only issue was the overall story and how it was handled.

  • @OverlordLS Well, the story was pretty good. But you're entitled to opinion.

  • @thedragonb0y I guess you never played Fallout 2...

  • @thedragonb0y Fallout 2 was pretty goofy though :P

  • It is in NV. I'm sure they put Glow soundtrack in Repcon near Novac and few other places.

  • fucking awesome game, the atmosphere, the gameplay, the storyline... can't be beat.

  • Second creepiest theme in this franchise. The Glow is the creepiest. Shame that they did not add this theme in New Vegas

  • @halopwnmaster

Actually they added this theme in New Vegas :)

but this theme is sounds very rare

maybe only in dead money addon

  • @MrBRIT234

hmm i don't remebr hearing it in Dead Money. but i think i did hear it in a cave or certain area. i need to check again lol

  • @MrBRIT234 I heard it in Lonesome Road

  • @theGoannaMan

i heard it only in trailer of lonesome road in the beginning ))

  • I loved that game, it was my first computer game I ever got (M rated one too) and it came in a Jewel pack with both it and Fallout 2. Such a awesome game.

  • Fallout and Fallout New Vegas are the only two of the series that really draw me in.Fallout has this feeling...like you're fighting to survive every second you play.New Vegas keeps me coming back because I get that feeling from being in The Divide. New Vegas also has interesting factions and locations. No matter what Fallout will always remain my all-time favorite RPG franchise. Because war,war never changes.

  • @EnglishTurtle: Ambient.

  • Jesus christ this is some creepy shit!!! what a shock I got listening to this as I have only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, they have pretty creepy sound tracks but know where near as shit scary as this! btw being a huge Fallout 3 fan I always wanted to try the originals I was wondering is it worth it to play these games?

  • @majorpwner09

    Yes! It's worth it.

I just recently purchased the Fallout Classic Collection.

And I've started my first playthrough of the original Fallout a few days ago and at first I was a little annoyed that it was a Runescape style "point & click" game but after getting my ass kicked by Radscorpions a couple times, aiding a few innocent villagers and advancing up a few levels I feel like I've gotten to know the game!

And now I absolutely love it!

  • THESE SORTA SOUNDS WERE PLAYING THROUGH MY HEAD WHILE I WAS ON MY ACID TRIP. scary as shiiitttt

  • I wish there was someone out there, anywhere, somone who knew how to use to Fallout 1 and 2 game engine creator, i always imagine one day somone will take it and create another fallout on it. The atmosphere is just incredible, its inspiring its heart toutching. I almost want to cry, Fallout 1 and 2 will always have a place in heart.

  • @FISRTGOAT completely agree, wasnt a fan of 3 but new vagas is good, but they just dont have the same feel and atmosphere that the original games had, though i like how heaps of the story in new vegas has drawbacks to the first 2 games, also tactics was built on the same engine, and while a diferent game it is damn good, they took the combat sequence and made it more indepth, if you havent played fallout tactics i would highly recomend it, who cares if it looks crap when gameplay is so good.

  • Fallout 4 needs something like this for their menu theme. In my opinion they need to make Fallout 4 more darker in tone than New Vegas.

  • This song summarizes how empty I feel at the moment.

  • THATS the sound of the real fallout waste ! ... from 1997

  • This track gives me chills

  • If you listen closely at 1:10, 1:34 and a bunch of other spots in the song, you can faintly hear the screams of the people who died in the nukes.

  • @spigotsandcogs omg... i heard them

  • 1 Person has lost in the wastelands...

  • Hey, I've just discovered that you can play this video twice, out of sync, and it still sounds awesome!

  • OMFG is they had took this music and put it into Fallout 3 and New Vegas, shit...I am not saying the other stuff is bad...but damn...this is cold, dark, scary...depressing...hopeless...

  • @BillyQuincy It's meant to be that way. Fantastic, isn't it?

  • @BillyQuincy

They did, actually. This little number plays around the Fort, for some reason.

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey Which one?

  • @BillyQuincy

Caeser's Legion's main base, and it turns out I was mistaken. The LA Boneyard theme plays in the Fort. In any case, they re-used a lot of Fallout 1 and 2's soundtracks for New Vegas.

  • thats becasue most of the team that made new vegas made fallout 1 and 2

  • why cant fallout 3 wasteland music be like that

  • @thenewerwill211187 Bongo bongo bongo I dont wanna leave the congo...

Its being cheery when youre on your last legs (10HP) xD Theres nothing cheery about the wasteland.

    Cheery people die.

  • i remember when i was a little kid, maybe 7 (i'm 16 now) and i played fallout 1 and when i heard this song, i was scared out of my pants for days. Lol, now that i think of it, it's really not that scary.

  • When I see a death claw swimming I think of juice.

  • Death.

  • The Hellish Wasteland Has Killed Many You See Many Corpses Near A Cave You Feel That You Are About To Die You Try To Run But A Giant Radscorpion Arises From The Cave It Feels Your Fear And It Chases You. You Have Become Lunch For This Beast Before You Die Your Last Thoughts Were Why Was This The Fate Of The Planet Why Did This Had To Happen. Then You Die. Your Corpse Joins The Rest Of The Forsaken Wastes. Others Have Been Sent To Find The Chip They All Die So Does The Vault.

  • @shinyluckyarceus9214 in other words....you have perished lol

  • The Hellish Wasteland Has Killed Many You See Many Corpses Near A Cave You Feel That You Are About To Die You Try To Run But A Giant Radscorpion Arises From The Cave It Feels Your Fear And It Chases You. You Have Become Lunch For This Beast Your Corpse Joins The Rest Of The Forsaken Wastes

  • aA great classic

  • This doesn't really sound like music to me. It just sounds like....sounds.

I can't find the word for it.

  • Sound of desolation!

  • I don't really like calling the soundtrack in the first two Fallout games "music". They're far too ambient for that, really. I do find myself relishing the experience whenever one of the "legacy" tracks is played in New Vegas, though.

  • Great idea of Obsidian to reuse FO tracks in New Vegas, adds a lot to the atmosphere and has nostalgia value

  • @looker999997 i was so excited for some reason when i heard the songs from fallout 1 and 2 in new vegas.

  • Comment removed

  • ahh the anticipation of waiting for new vegas X_X...

  • I love Fallout 3 but I hate most of the music that they play. It's just not intimidating. I'm going to see if I can hack into my Fallout 3 PC game with GECK and change the music to this

  • @888MikeM888 lol you don't need to hack anything just over-wright the mp3s in the game directory...

  • @indieambientmusic Oh realy? lol Well alright now I know

  • @888MikeM888 Yeah, you can overwrite the Fallout 3 music with your own since it's in mp3 format. By the way, I think that Fallout 3's music is as good as Fallout 1 & 2's music. So, I wouldn't change anything.

  • @SerbiaMaNiAC Fallout 3's music isn't all bad. Its just that some of it just doesn't set the right mood for me. It's too... "happy" sounding to me, if that makes any sence. Fallout 1 & 2's music was so intimidating. I just like it better

  • @888MikeM888 I think a mix of the two would have been appropriate, juxtaposing the lively, happy jazz against the dark and foreboding music of the wastes.

  • A symphony of rent metal and damned screams issues forth from the bleak howling of the wind; The centuries after the war have not been kind to our land.

  • I love the music in Fallout 1 and 2, but just not the gameplay...its just too slow.

  • I can hear the faint sound of moans and a car horn.

Kind of a reminder of a dead civilisation

  • Theres only one word to describe this song. Fallout...

  • Some people may not like this stile of music as it is sound scape. Yet sound scape is a very barren style of music (if you call it music). Yet for fallout it is the most appropriate style of music. As the world of fallout seems bleak, cynical and barren. I like the music from fallout after all I do not think Nobuo Uematsu, Jeremy Soule, or even Inon Zur (Fallout 3) can capture the true emotion of Fallout. If any thing is bad about the music it is the lack of battle music.

  • fallout 1 and 2 have the stuff of real wasteland survivaing like sometime u will stop at the mapp and take damage because u need water or random monster or ppl that out gun and out class u that my friends is the wasteland

  • Comment removed

  • fallout 3 and new fallouts needs this! not some gay songs or no songs at all

  • This soundtrack reminds of those moments I stumbled across a pack of raiders, alone, outgunned, a few stimpacks, making a run for border to get back on the map while taking hits up the ass. Good times!

  • little bit scary:) ale nezapomínám na můj fallouttek, super hra, luxus game

  • Amazing dark ambient music.

    <333333333

  • Really great! This is what an atomic wasteland should sound like; the wind, old buildings falling apart and the never-ending pestilence of death and decay. This theme alone, is more scarier than the entire game of Fallout 3.

  • im gonna get the package for all games

  • CREEPY!! <3

  • ah this takes me back. reminds me of being a gaurd for the caravans in the hub and killing the attacking raiders. minigun close range anyone?

  • fallout 1 doesn't really have music, only noise.

    thats why its awesome.

  • The Raiders theme didn't sound like mere noise to me.

  • You've gotten used to the heat, and although the air is warm, you think of ice as the wind howls through you.

You look down at your wound. It seems to be healing. The loose end of the gauze blows freely.

You smile as you note similarities between yourself and a tuft of dried up grass, wavering as you pass. The wasteland wants all things to die. It does not discriminate.

A dust cloud looms in the distance. Your grip around your hunting rifle tightens. Something approaches.

  • Good written.

Except I was more for Alien Blaster, Power Fist or SMG rather then Hunting Rifle.

  • What is this awful fan-fiction.

  • @release2 Its game time.

  • @release2 poetry

  • @release2

that was the best explanation of fallout I have ever heard.

did you make it up yourself?

either way that is one of the most legendary pieces of writing ever.

  • @release2 Wow. Man that just gave me chills.....

  • @release2 You RP?

  • @release2 Let's hope it's a NCR ranger who can help.

  • @Agent1W OH MY GOD !!!... WHAT IS THAT!?!? ... OH NOOO !!!! ... IT IS A .... CRIMSON CARAVAN!?!?!? -_-'

You move towards the Caravanists and say : FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • @Agent1W You silly, the NCR hasn't been instated in the time of the Vault Dweller! Well, it is, later on in his life, but I mean not during his adventures.

  • @iarenoobz This particular vault was in the Mojave, right? I did remember a NCR establishment.

  • @release2 Nice copypasta ¬_¬

  • @lb8068

Hey, it's actually my own writing. (Honestly, I can do better).

I just googled it and noticed someone named Theelderscrollsftw94 is copying and pasting it on some other videos, but I don't really mind. I assume that he liked it! : )

  • @release2 original wasteland circa 89????

  • Its kinda like walking through hell ,oh wait you are :)

  • There's just something about this music that just increases the intimidation in the game and you feel no matter where you go, your chances of survival are slim to none and whatever is left in this God forsaken planet is gonna kill you. This music just screams horror and fear, two of which nobody wants to go through... Amazing.

  • And your chances are slim to nothing in the wasteland... Truly brings the atmosphere of the game... So dark, and full of fear, fear of the unknown... :-)

  • @LifeLongRacer And there's no monsters suddenly leaping out of closets or corners. This is horror.

  • @LifeLongRacer

Yes! Yes! Yes! Thankyou for reminding me that I'm not a fool for getting so emotionally wound up in games. Fallout 1 is probably the only game where I've had genuine feelings of fear-of-death, uncertainty and fragility, and THIS is the song that did it.

  • Too bad you pretty much never heard this in-game.. If one big flaw from the originals, was that the Wasteland had no purpose besides occasional random encounters.

  • This music makes me think of one word:

    Death.

  • I would say that's not a bad word for this music. After all, the Wastelands are kind of dead compared to how it was before the bombs fell.

  • The Fallout serie has to be the Best RPG games in history =]]]]

  • Agreed!

  • iAgree.

  • HEY! I AGREE TOO, DON'T LEAVE ME OUT! Lmao! I loooooooooooooooooove Fallout!

  • Now THIS is creepy.

  • thx for uploding! greates rpg series for pc!

  • First i was thinking of getting Fallout 3 to PC, for the DLC.

Now i wanna get it, so i can put the Fallout 1 music on. It's sounds more creepyier, and then everytime i would run into a enemy, i would shit my pants!

  • I put the Fallout 1 soundtrack on Fallout 3, feels mucho better now.

  • that sir is a pretty cool idea. i have to say this reminds me of looting the fallen or finding some special place out in the wastes or getting raided by raiders lol..

if only dogmeat hadnt eaten that bad mutfruit... cant wait till i hear the glow music.. or the brotherhood this soooo rules!

  • reminds me of Resident Evil 2

  • Great upload, thanks!

  • fallout is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!

  • In my humble opinion, Fallout 1 and 2 had a more tragic and heavy harsh post-apocalyptic feel to it, than Fallout 3. And maybe it was just because of pieces like this one. Its great.

  • Call me crazy but Fallout 1's atmosphere gave me the same post apocalyptic feel as Terminator 3.

  • You crazy!

  • I absolutely agree with you. This is the only music that can rival with the Necropolis sound track to bring the feeling of a dying (or dead) world.

  • I like this music. It really captures the feel of a wasteland. fallout 1 rules.

  • to true man.. theres a mod comming out for fallout 3 that puts the music from the first to games in it.. which im downloading for sure

  • nice post=)

  • This tune gives me the chills.. I love it <3
