  • why would you first start racing on ovals and only after time be allowed to race on real tracks ? I cant thing of anything more boring that going around a circle like a moron. Hello the rest of the world is not like america. We don't like NASCAR

  • @YamahaMiro do a little more research before you bash a service you know nothing about. You have 2 seperate licenses.... You can do either rookie road or rookie oval and you can do them both at the same time. you don't have to do ANY ovals if you don't want to... I for example have a D class license in both schools of racing but if i chose to race road only and stop ovals I can. Again know what you are talking about before you flame something moron...

  • Just got Iracing. Couldn't be more impressed. Its unreal to see how many great drivers there are around the world.

  • Guys hook me up... im thinkin bout joining i racing.... what kinda steeringwheel, pedals and gearbox should i get?? What about the race frame or cage???

  • For startes you'll need a decent set of steering wheel and pedals such as the Logitech G25 (the best in the market). It comes complete with a gear box and everything, look it up on Youtube, there are plenty of videos showing the G25 in action. As for a race frame there are many available, this show usually reviews lots of them.

  • iRacing should be on the xbox 360. Those users are used to paying monthly fees and being nickle and dimed for every little addon. It would be a win win!

  • For people outside of iRacing who don't know:

The Car of Tomorrow and Daytona Prototype will be available from the middle of this week (prob wednesday)

  • ROFL they show a board with some formulas to show how complex it is ROFL. Too expensive, its gonna flop. Too many ovals sigh...

  • lol Shows what you know. But your welcome to find something better. If you do, let me know.

  • lol Shows what you know. But your welcome to find something better. If you do, let me know.

  • Why are they not adding Drift in iRacing? Drift is a motorsport too i think if they add drifting in iRacing i think more ppl will bye it. But that is imo...

  • It's probably on the list of things to come. They plan on adding a lot of things and once you join iRacing you realize how often the word "soon" is thrown around.

"When will we have the COT?"

    "...soon".

    "What about dirt racing?"

    "...soon".

It may sound like a stupid answer but, if you're patient enough "...soon" becomes "now". It's a trust thing and I trust iRacing with my money because they haven't lied to me. What I buy is a done correctly, top-notch, fun product.

  • Yeah know think im might going too buy this game look like alot of fun :)

  • They are all games.

Sim racing is like jacking off.

Real racing is like..........you get the point.

  • You dont know what you are talking about.

  • You don't know what i'm talking about either.

  • By the way... Where else can race real world racers for that price? We talk to Dale Jr almost everyday on the forums.

  • lol Why do people not understand iRacing is a tool for real world racers and the best sim racers. rfactor and gtr arent sims they are games. 25 dollars for a laser scanned track is no a lot. You cannot denie the fact that iRacing is the only REAL sim out there. Enjoy your games boys!

  • Please tell me how $13 a month pays your bills and buys a Ferrari? The difference here is that this sim translates to the real world tracks perfectly. No other sim comes close to being a usefull training tool.

  • This guy is a jackass, "Prize money is great, but it really doesn't pay the bills." For that kind of money, it pays the bills and buys you a fucking ferrari. $25 for a track, $15 for a car. Rediculous.

  • I have had a subscription to iRacing for less than 24 hours. You can only drive the Solstice and Legends car and online racing is limited to one track per week. That is a lot for 20 dollars a month. Any additional cars and tracks (I believe 4 are free) cost anywhere from 15-25 dollars a piece... per car and track. To me, that is a huge ripoff. The cars are super sensitive and the crashes are unrealistic. A light tap from opponent means a spin and you're on your roof!DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

  • If you would be happier with something less sensitive to drive, maybe somthing a little easier, try a console game. And Ace, if I may call you Ace, im my opinion, props are for boats. See, opinions ARE just like assholes.

  • You know if you do the math, it's something like $8 a month if you buy the year. $156 subscription - the $60 they give you back for add-ons. $96/12 = $8. Obviously more exspensive than free but, you get what you pay for.

  • i totally agree. you get what you pay for, and i spent 400$ to buy entire game, and this game rocks! and im not even able to compete in higher levels yet

  • game?! its not game!!! :D

  • $400? How drunk and high are you?

  • If iracing one day license the old cars

from Grand Prix Legends to their bew sim,

    or even better IMSA/GTP cars,

it will blow any other sim away.

  • Subscription

  • Sure the subribtion is the best way to go, its the way you make the most money, instead of just a one time payment, you have to pay over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. not thats how the money is made, good business model. thanks for taking advantage of the sim racing community.

    156.00 a year, what a ripoff

    WOW, sorry im not rich

  • good luck in your racing, i'll gladly spend the money, and im not rich, i pay 3 times as much to use a cell phone, this takes alot of money to do and keep going, i'll keep using the state of the art sim. Nothing is close. PERIOD.

  • it does cost alot, but im gonna get it whenever i get the invite. you get what you pay for, and this is a pretty high quality sim

  • IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY! 13 DOLLARS A MONTH AND $60 WORTH OF CREDITS ARE GIVEN TO YOU TO BUY CARS AND TRACKS! THEY LAZER SCANNED THE TRACKS AS WELL SO EVERY SINGLE BUMP ON THE TRACKS IN REAL LIFE IS IN THE SIM!AND IT IT IS ACCURATE TO THE mm! IT IS A REVOLUTIONARY SIM

  • no dude all the rich kids actually race real legends/race cars

  • It's just going to be a bunch of rich kids that have there daddys pay for everything.Real Pep's will NEVER Be able to afford this. There goes your WORLD WIDE PLAY.Sounds like a rich pep's game.Just charge a flat rate like normal pep's.Good racers will be left out due to The ALL MIGHTY I Racing lol. These guys are going to get rich. And dont give a crap abut sim racers. And thats the bottom line.

  • I'd gladly pay the monthly fees to be with people who really want to race and race within the rules of good sportsmanship. Those who don't want to take it serious will not pony up the cash! So it keeps out the riff raff!

  • Get dirt cars or it aint worth a DAMN

  • You get what you pay for. If this delivers in terms of physics, cleanliness/quality of racing, and track accuracy then it will be worth every penny IMHO. If a subsciption guarantees a quality service and great racing with like minded individuals then I'm all for it. This is an important step in the ideal that simracing could potentially be perceived as a 'sport'.

  • i hope it will be a sport and i could turn on the tv to espn or abc to watch sim racing

  • I am so looking forward to this.

So you guys can't afford $12/month? That's a shame. And you know for sure that there is going to be an rFactor2? Sure would like to see your proof of that.

Nevertheless, it will be real nice to have good and professional close racing among people at my own skill level. It'll sure beat racing against a bunch of people who want everything for free and talk a bunch of smack about a concept they haven't even tried yet.

  • Never ...Never i gonna buy it !

I am not bill gates and also never i will incentive any kind of product that make their own costumers slaves .

  • So $156 a year plus extra for more tracks and cars. Seems like huge waste of money when rfactor and upcoming rfactor2 is one time price and then you have a whole community who create mods for free.

  • I hope EA sports burns in hell.

  • What does EA have to do with this ? EA Sports will continue to thrive.. If this is because they have the Nascar license.. Who cares?? It's only paint schemes and logos.. You want a true stock car sim.. get Arca or wait for iRacing.. or.. Nascar 2003

  • oh.. btw.. he said that subscription system will allow user to be on the same per because of updated software distribution. that's a bullshit: take a look to liveforspeed.... you pay once and you keep on receiving updates several and several times. subscription will just increase the final price of sim, nothing more and nothing less

  • subscription could be the death of sim racing.. that's a pity

  • I miss Papyrus, :( , I will never pay for a subscription from iracing

  • Jeeze... even IF it is the MOST realistic simulator, it will still not be worth subscription fees...

  • Subscription i disagree, we are moving towards a merrit base economy and sim racing is a big community in which communities like rf has succeeded IMO. This is a step backwards i uderstand this is a business but i will put the community ahead of profit. I agree with various points he made and i respectfully disagree on charging. Very Informative interview.. Aldo Villamil

  • I didnt hear anything about individual league support? Taking over control, and the sim community thinks these guys are trying to take over our sport and force us to pay... I like it free, thanks anyways guys.
