This is the first part I've ever seen from skateboarding back in 2001 I think.. and the reason I still skate today 12 years later. at 3:00 when it says mic check one twoooo... I seriously remember my eyes glowing up and being so excited about skateboarding. Still to this day I get this feeling watching The Reason on VHS. Awesome part. I used to live in Boise Idaho back in the day and we used to go to Rhodes skatepark all the time and Gershawn would be there. Really good skater but the guys an asshole in real life. He used to talk shit to smaller/beginner skaters all the time about getting in his way etc...

@xsploitedsecurity - I just posted a comment about Gershon on the Thrasher message boards. I moved to Boise & almost everyone said he was a dick & that's exactly the same reason I was told. I never saw him skate but I heard he really didn't talk to people unless he telling someone to get out of his way.

Rhodes park is still one of my favorite parks in the US. Boise was Idahos best kept secret but that was like 7-8 years ago. Shit was so awesome.

anyone remember the A-Team {magazine}ad where he ollied this hump and trapped the board upright between his feet, no hands. it was the ad series where they challenged people to match tricks. chet thomas hard flp late 180, dave mahew kf nose grind nol kf out. gershon's trick was the only one not matched.

What is funny is I knew two people that actually did 2 of the tricks and one of them had to re-do the Chet's trick because his bank wasn't steep enough. The other one had to re-do Marc Johnson's trick because they labeled it as switch when it was regular and he ended up doing it regular too. Then a few years ago someone told me their friend did Gersh's trick but they didn't give him the money because he couldn't do it over a pyramid - he did it off a kicker. They didn't give the money away easy.

nah, he does sound a LOT like him on here though.. names of the mc's is Meta-Mo(first dude) and Lumba (second).. album is called "Architechnology", their group is "Rubberoom".. It was hard to find back then so I can imagine even harder now..It's an ill ass album tho- raw dark industrialized beats w/ abstract lyrics.. Worth the effort if u can find it..if not best bet is to use an audio recording program to record it offline...I know song is on Youtube but u might find better quality elsewhere..
