how did you get your computer to read the japanese characters? not writing I already know how to do that I just can't figure out how to make my computer read the japanese fonts it keeps turning them into weird squares and symbols could you please help? :(

@DoomedCarrot I know how to do it on XP, but I'm not sure, with Vista and 7. On XP, go into "Control Panel," click "Language and Regional Settings," the "Advanced" tab at the top of the little window that pops up, and in the drop-down menu that says "Default language for programs that don't accept Unicode," pick "Japanese." It should fix the issue with not being able to read filenames and such. On websites, you need the language pack, which allows you to type them, as well. :3

Ever since I changed my locale to Japanese, (yes I did use UTAU before without Japanese locale) whenever I open UTAU it keeps saying "Subscript out of range" and when I click ok it just appears again. I already deleted the res folder and voicebanks and reinstalled and still there.

There's an option to do it but I don't remember where...just convert it to English maybe search the download on YouTube then it might show if you're lucky enough so the English version has translated the .wav saving thing. If you haven't figured out already DX.

When I downloaded UTAU with a voice bank and put it in UTAU the picture had shown and everything but it is only letting me use one sound like when you go to enter the sounds in UTAU it only lets me use like the letter A. @NodokaHikaru Um. VOCALOID makes use of another program, but it's similiar to UTAU. You can't make Miku sing on it.

I also can say that the patches for it to use the romaji voice banks and to have the program in English work just fine. Though I am slowly removing them as I am trying to learn Japanese.

Uh teto's voice isnt there anymore and it says if you Kasane teto click here amd it brings me to a Kasane teto offical site and everything is in japanese and i can find it help.

I don't know what I did wrong to instal Utau when I was doing it on my own, but following this vid (and paying attention to the notes provided) I was able to successfully install Utau. Thanks, now to learn how to use the newest ver. 0.2.76. Note that the install process is a lot different than shown, but is still a good, helpful guideline.

....I have a big problem. I downloaded UTAU, but when I open it, it says "?????????????: Bad file name or layout" it's the same layout, but a bunch of squiggles (is that the right word?) It's a bunch of random letters in different languages, I think I caught Finnish and Polish somewhere.

Ok so i got utau and i had it installed and everything then i went to open it.. it came up with an error saying Bad file name or number. and then i clicked ok and it opened the program and all the writing was messed up and illegable. and i ignored this and just went on i tpyed in something and i put it onto the bar and when it went on i played it but i heard nothing as the thing ran over the lyrics. can anyone help me
