Liszt, Presto Strepitoso, that piece is literally (I mean literally) unplayable. No on has played it without mistakes and maintaining speed. Since it can't be really counted, El Contrabandista is an amazing virtuosic peice
My favourites (I noe they are epic): 1. F. Chopin Etude Op. 25 No. 12 "Ocean" 2. F. Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 12 "Revolutionary" 3. L. V. Beethoven Op. 106 No. 29 "Hammerklavier" - 1st movement 4. L. V. Beethoven Sonata Op. 57 No.23 "Appassionata" 5. F. Liszt Grand Etude III S.141 "La Campanella" 6. L. V. Beethoven Sonata Op. 14 No. 2 "Moonlight" - 3rd movement 7. F. Chopin Prelude Op.28 No.15 "Raindrop" 8. F. Chopin Prelude Op.28 No. 4 9. L. V. Beethoven Op. 14 No. 2 "Moonlight" - 1st movement

There's one song that sounds almost same as that first one there (number ten that is) and I'm trying to find it terrible but I can't find it! It's something Sonata (or sonate, depends how you write it dunno) and it is made in 1790-1800 if I remember correctly! And the name had Van or something in it (IF I JUST REMEMBER CORRECTLY :D). But yeah, anyone know? And it went A B A B A, then it went C D E D E C. I mean the 'chapters' not vocals (Blah my music vocabulary is bad)
my top three list is 1. Fugue for String Quartet op.133 by beethoven 2. Piano Sonata No.12 in A-flat major, Op. 26: I. Andante con Variazioni by beethoven 3. Libestraum No. 3 in A-Flat major, S. 541-3 4. by Liszt
i need an orchestra/ classical music expert to indentify a peice for me. it's a modivational peice used in a basketball tribute for a very good player. it's a rather nice peice and i would love to know the name of it.
well it's the ear's and mind's choice to decide... I would put Chopin over Beethoven imo... but that's just my taste.. I respect it. As I respect your taste. :)
@Kakarot21591 It is there. In fact, it is number 2 on the list; Beethoven's 14th Sonata, which is in Opus 27 number 2, is the entire Moonlight Sonata. So it was included, just not played in this short video. Only the first movement, not the other two.
The interpretation played here of that movement, by the way, is definitely not anywhere near the top of my list for interpretations of that movement. You should listen to Artur Rubinstein's.
@sergeantbreinholt This version is played by Vladimir Horowitz and is by far the best version existing to date, the Arthur Rubienstien version is to slow almost more like a lullaby
I totally disagree with this list. Where on earth are Mozarts piano concertoe, 20 and 21 often regarded as the best ever made within classical music. And whre is Brahms 1 and 2 piano concertos - also they regarded as some of the Best. And Finally where is Beethovens 3,4 ot 5 piano concerto ?
@rkj1963 Then you have no idea what "solo" means in the musical world, it means that it is played by a single instrument.. Not a orchestra and therefor there is no piano concertos on this list

@sahul9000 That piece has no reason to be in the top 10 of "best" lists.

Chopin op. 10 n. 3 Etude is a fantastic piece of music but pale in comparison with quite masterpieces like Ballades or Polonaise op. 61
