  • All the Flounders man. Don't make me pick. All the Flounders are all how I'd picture Flounder to be as a human. I love it.

  • im friends w this kid now... lol

  • bryan was 8 when he did this and hes now 13 almost 14

  • He has such talent and ease on stage! Not to mention his vocal talents are unreal. I have to say though, when I saw him in this show it read as crazy arrogance. Then again...he's got a right to be!

  • Anybody else notice that the first few notes played in this vid sound just like the beginning of the Sound of Music theme song?

  • I remember when I went to go see this, Brian was Flounder that night and when he sang that note, my Dad was just like "Man that kid can SING!" im kinda upset his voice isnt like that on the soundtrack. I think they went into the studio before his voice got deeper. Wasnt he like 13 at this time?

  • i totally agree about brian i think he si amazing..especially that he is the one on the soundtrack...awesome..love it!!!

  • OMG! I love Brian! I saw him in Les Miserables as Gavaroche along with Lea Salonga as Fantine and he was absolutely amazing!! He made me cry in that show! I got their autographs on my Playbill! Still, to this day, the best show I've ever seen! XD ♥

  • =O OM freakin G!!! That kids voice is AMAZING! And he performs this better than any other flounder I've seen! WOW!!!

  • This kid can carry some tunes!!!!

    But trevors still the cutest.

  • sorry cd

  • on the dvd trevor does the recording and i love trevors voice but i like brians too:)

  • brian is the best flounder!

  • brian is a great flounder!

  • i love brians voice wayy better than trevors\

  • Trevor is better. Brian has too much of a range. Flounder's voice is supposed to be high.

  • his dad teaches at my school<3

  • As much as I am in love with Trevor... THIS KID BELTS LIKE NO OTHER!!

I love the audiences vibe here! It's so exciting and you can feel the energy building the whole time!

  • I am jealous of that kids vocals O_O He can his better notes than I can by far...

  • This is AMAZING<3

I have this song on my ipod and after watching Cody Hanford, JJ Singleton, Trevor Braun, AND Brian D'Addario, I've decided the Brian did the recording. He was definitley the best <33 I'm in love with his voice<33333

  • AMazing!!! @elphaboy I would assume because of the high note Brian hit it was truly amazing. haha

I wish this video was in a better quialty thoug but i understand

  • i think the term "born for broadway" applies here....

  • why did they applaud at 2:19?

  • @Elphaboy Because he was singing phenomenally

  • @Elphaboy Probably b/c the way he sang it was hot (:

  • i can do so much better than him he sucks

  • I admit Brian's a good singer, but he almost makes Flounder seem cocky. And he made Gavroche seem pissed off. Stick with your true calling Brian: Rock and Roll! :P

  • Wow! the audience loves this kid!!!

  • I think Trevor is cuter and a better actor, but Brian is by far the better singer.

  • I saw Brian play Flounder on Broadway, he was awesome!! I also saw him the year before as Gavroche in Les Mis, I sobbed during the death scene, he did it SO WELL. Right before The Little Mermaid I flicked thru the programme and found that Brian was playing Flounder and had been in Les Mis, I couldn't remember his name from that but when he came onstage I knew it was the same kid, and he was just as phenomenal. He has a huge career ahead of him!

  • Brian is quite the ladies' man! :D

  • I saw Brian as Gavroche in Les Miserables and now to see him in this is AMAZING! :)

  • Brian is my favorite Flounder! Not only does he have this unbelievable range for his age. I thought he had the closest characterization to resemble the movie. I find it strange that people say Trevor is more like Flounder when is behavior is more like Chip from BatB. Chip was cute, innocent, & pouty. Flounder like Brian was right at the age of puberty. A bit more attitude but still young not to see the obvious in front of him. I think Brian was the ideal choice for this role.

  • GOD!!! THIS KID IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • This kid is so amazing! He kind of reminds me of the kid from Sweeney Todd. Just the voice. But i love this!

  • Brian is a better actor than singer, but I like his version of the song, still

  • WOW, this kid is amazing. He has great vocal control and is clearly a brilliant singer, but i have to say, i thik trevor is a tad bit more adorable :)

  • are they all on heelys or roller skates?

  • @Lobxx1 Actually, only the Flounders wear Heelys, the rest of the cast wear shoes based on Heelys, but they are not technically Heelys, I read this in the companion book of the musical

  • Trevor is adorable and his voice was so cute

Brian sang the long notes awesomely

Cody dances better and sings great

  • i saw brian live, and let me tell you i was blown away! i am NOT easily impressed, and wow, my jaw dropped open when i heard him. although i very much appreciate TLMBroadway for posting this video, because i have been waiting a long time for someone to post one of brian, it does not do him justice. you have to hear him live to experiance the full effect. brian, expect tony awards in youe future.

  • i luv trevor and brian!!!

  • i saw this on broadway with him as flounder and he had the biggest ovation of all. he was amazing live.

  • I like the mermaids better in Trevor version but Brian sings a little more better than Trevor. Trevor is more cute

  • @KamilWow what, days sum bullshyt n u kno it and u going to hell with gasoline draws on,

  • @KamilWow why u got to use the word nigger, why cant he just be a black boy

  • He has a weirdish voice its good but has a weirdness to it

  • @KamilWow what???, who

  • I like the other flounder way better. But he's good 2

  • BRIAN!!!!!!!! Brian wins for sure! hes adorable and has a GREAT voice!

  • How old is Brian?

  • FLOUNDER!!!!!!

  • WOW thats amazing he has some vocals well I think he did it better

  • SEARCH CODY HANFORD shes in love hes like trevor and brian mixed together

  • brian does have a strong voice and trevor is cute but idk

  • i like trevor he is soo cute i could eat him!

  • I really like Trevor. He's so adorable.

  • This always gives me chills! I love how they cheer for him when he hit's the high notes.

  • I love this song and he's soooo cute!^^

  • they both are good i met brian

  • I think, of all the Flounders i've heard, Brian has the strongest voice, but he sounds like he's battling puberty now and trying to keep a hold of his higher register. it still sounds fabulous though. <3

  • Sooo good! Love that number

  • Whether Trevor or Brian is better is hard to say.

Brian: He's more traditional and is a better singer

Trevor: Is cuter, more adorable. Doesn't sing as well, however him being higher pitched then Brian makes him all the more cuter.

In my opinion based off this one song I have to say I like Brian the best.

  • @KHSlider i couldnt agree with you more!

  • Wow, Brian is a WONDERFUL Flounder.

  • Also-just saw Trevor in comparison-Trevor is so cute, and seems younger, but Brian is able to belt it and act more like Flounder. Both are wonderful though!

  • omg i saw this for my 15th bday in '08 and Brian played Flounder that night and man could that boy sing!

  • Brian's voice is absolutely amazing! Love it!

  • alright. brian is a better singer than trevor. thats given... performance in my opinion.... well... brian acts more like the original flounder but trevor is like a different, cuter, flounder

  • yes i amm<333

  • I hope he goes on tour!

  • i love brian, hes sooo good. love his brother too, met him last week and believe ill be seeing him again on sunday. theyve got real talent.

  • Trevor was the best. No question.

  • Wow. I saw this on broadway this past summer and they actually dont sound that good in this video. but Brian is so cute! I met him. haha.

  • I wish I could see the play again!!!! I cannot live without my mermaid!!!!! Especially without my Brian D'Addario, cutest thing on Broadway! lol!

  • i think it is trevor or cody

  • no.. it was brian on the soundtrack

  • Comment removed

  • Which boy sings it on the soundtrack?

  • The boy on the soundtrack is Brian D'Addario, the one in this video.

  • As peopl have said earlier, he has an excellent belt for such an young age. Bu if you compare the videos of him and Cody Hanford, Cody is singing higher. Does anyone know why?

  • i think cody's younger and hasn't hit puberty yet

  • he's probably hitting puberty... which means he was probably soon to lose the role

  • well his voice changed . . . if u saw this play in the when it first came out his voice was high. if you listen to the soundtrack he is singing shes in love he has a high voice.

his voice changed throughout the time period that the play was open

  • No I mean the actually notes were higher. After posting the question I just figured they rewrote the music, I mean, Cody is singing in Denver, Brian is singing later on on Broadway. Thanks anyway!

  • I saw Brian in Les Miserables, I loved him! HE IS SO AMAZING!

  • This kid is epic!

  • i couldn't believe such a voice could come out of a little boy. i remember when i saw this, i was so amazed.

he made a great flounder. i think he was my favorite.

  • I LOVE BRIAN!!!!! I'm going to marry that boy lol!

  • haha good luck with that, my friend and i are already fighting over him. haha

  • Brian was the one who played Flounder when I saw it.

    He was great!!

  • Flew all the way from Atlanta to see this with my daughter. The best show ever!!! That little boy was awesome. Please hurry and come to Atlanta....I'm buying the first ticket.

  • well yeah, so much power in a small voice, that's what makes him "awesome" as you say, but being a singer that has gone through puberty, it starts to get really saddening when you can't sing as high anymore, and if you don't do it correctly, you can really kill your voice or when you sing a higher note, it kind of sounds muffled which is what is starting to happen to him

  • Another young Flounder performer that has become struck with puberty.

  • He is just so amazing! I wonder what he'll go to once the show has its last performance on Sunday? I hope he continues to do shows!! I wonder how often crowds starts cheering like that whenever they hear him first sing the chorus. That must be so exciting for him when it happens ^_^

  • He's in a band. They have lots of stuff on youtube: Member's of the Press

  • I was so amazed by this guy!

  • To all the people commenting that they've seen the show more than once... you suck!

I'm just kidding, I saw the show once and I wanted to go again BUT now that it's closing in only a few days and I only have a few dollars to my name that won't be happening.

    And I was THIRD ROW!

  • Who negative commented me? Seriously, I said I was joking about the you suck thing... I clearly said so.

  • whenever i hear brian sing... i get goosebumps... o_O

    I LOVE YOU BRIAN!!!

  • this is soo crazy good. i have to say, trevor is a cuter dancer, but brian is 100x better at singing!!! just the way he pronounces the words and the power he can achieve on the high notes... ughhh its sooo good. Trevor does a nice job, but you can hear the people starting to pay attention as soon as Brian starts. and as soon as he hits the first big "she's in love" they go crazy! trevor just doesn't have that kind of power and professional sound...

  • brian is so amazing!!!

i went to go see the show last week on broadway from the 3rd row!!!!!

    i love when he sings

"ariel and someone, swimmiing in the sea, K-I-S-S-I-N-G"

    that just blows my mind!!

this kid is honestly the best singer under 15 that i have EVER heard!!!

i wish i cuold see it again!!

    and everyone, he is 12

  • hahahaha i i did the same thing. i saw it 3 times. but the original cast is so much better

  • OMG!!!!! What day did you see it? I went last week and I was second row!!!!

  • When he sings "It's as clear as H2O" at 2:50 he hits the "O" note so perfectly. Also, am I the only one who wants Heelys after watching Brian skate around on stage? :)

  • lol, yes. I used to HATE them and now they just remind me of Flounder. ;P

  • I do too!

  • Ha, I had a pair, just never used em...after watching this, i was singing and dancing around on them all the time. lol

  • 2:13 blows my mind

  • I know him! He is truly amazing isn't he? When they sing She's in Love, they're talking about me! LOL!

  • LOL ;)

  • Brian is so great in this. I'm sad I'll never get to see him perform this live :( .

I hope that whatever flounders they get for the tour are close to as good as him.

Does anybody know about how much stage time Flounder gets in the play?

  • he's 12. if you look up his band..."Members of the Press" he commented that he's 12.

This kid is AH-MAZiNG live. If you have a chance...see this show!!

  • This Flounder is the BEST flounder, he's a little power house!

  • But you can post the others with JJ Singleton and the others flooder

  • i saw this show i loved it !! and yea he's so cute btw how old is he??

  • he is 11

  • he looks like he's 12 or 13

  • He's 12

  • Damn, how many flounders have there been already???

  • 4. 2 in the pre broadway, and 2 in the actual broadway

  • @TLMBroadway93

Well now five cause Trevor left and Major took his spot

  • @KHSlider well, Major was an understudy, but it doesn't matter because its not even on Broadway anymore.

  • I love how he squeaks SHE"S IN LOVE at 3:06

  • I did a show with Major Curda last summer! yeah he's in the rotation now. He is a really great singer and actor! i really hope i'll be able to see him in the show. I saw him in A Christmas carol this winter. not a lot of people know about Major being in TML, lots a people think im lying. it stinks. OH WELL!!!! He is really great!

  • i saw major on broadway as flounder and he is actually really really good. we planned and booked for brian but his appearances have decreased. honestly, all three of them are great. and i wasn't disappointed when i heard major sing for sure.

  • YEP!!!! thats my buddy! WHen we did the phantom in a show last summer together, and he played young Erik. Im really happy he's doing this and i hope i can see him! SO THANKS I WILL TELL HIM U SAID THAT U LIKED HIM IN DA SHOW!!! as long as i can see him, well nvm i'll call him anyways.

  • do u realy know him?? if u do tell him he's really awesome and tell him:demi(me) says hi

  • yeah i know him. Ill tell him when i see him and or talk to him!

  • ok thanx so much you're the best :D

  • its tlm

  • right tlm. srry. I was excited soooo i typed badly. yeah. bye

  • I like Trevor better he but Brian's a better singer but Brian doesn't looks weird with blonde hair

  • whooo hoo trev rocks

  • It's Brian.

  • man this kid's voice gives me chills, he's great =]

  • brian is a lot better then trevor brian actually SINGS the part but still they are both good! i saw this play once and i loved it SO much im going to c it again!

  • Hes like 12

I LOVE this kid i met him and saw him 2 times in the show

    he is my favorite

I LIKE HIM BETTER THAN TREVOR!!!!!!!!

  • o.m.g! this kid has an AMAZING VOICE! WOAHHHHHH how old is he?!?! this recordings good:D haha i luvvv this song

  • I believe he is 11

  • how many kids have played flounder

  • 4 i think. 2 for te pre broadways, and 2 for the actual broadways. the pre broadway flounders are AJ and Cody. and the broadway ones are Trevor and Brian. I have trevors performance up, i will be putting up AJs soon and then in the full broadway i have up its the pre broadway and cody is in that one.

  • The Little Mermaid on Broadway will play it's final performance on August 30.

The Pre-Broadway/ Broadway Preview Flounders were Cody Hanford and J.J. Singleton. When the show officially opened on Broadway Brian D'Addario and Trevor Braun were Flounder. I also heard that they just added another boy into the rotation, Major Curda. Trevor Braun is heading over to Billy Elliot.

  • Apparently in fall of 2010 it's going to tour the U.S. Oh goodness, I can't wait until it comes to Chitown :D:D:D

  • I love Brian! I had a front row seat! HE WAS SOOO AMAZING! The video doesn't show how awesome he is.

  • me too

  • the is good but not as good as trevor

  • my favorite flounder!! ive been looking for a video of him singing this ever since i saw him last year. thanks so much!
