  • Very nice song!

  • This is really good even though I'm not into the whole indie fleet foxes kinda image, can't hate on the music

  • Neil halstead - the worlds most talented, chilled, uplifting & gifted musician.

    A true gent.

    GOD BLESS YA NEIL!!

  • I just heard of this man. He has my last name though haha, so weird. It'd be even weirder if we happened to be related.

  • My god i love this song its amazing, great vid as well man !

  • wow.. nobody hate this song ;-) ! cheers

  • Haha me too; I bought the albums Dare and Journeys to glory. I suppose the truth is all three bands added something to the lexicon for sure. I was just being provocative, the idea of reforming when a band has passed its artistic peak doesn't make sense to me. I guess you've got to follow your heart, and people change.

  • Neil is amazing, even more so live, and hes a really nice guy to top it all off ;)

  • i love this heartfelt music,im a massive fan of slovedive, mojave 3,now neil halstead they all have a place in my heart,

  • At last, imagery for one of the most gorgeous songs in recent times. Music from the heart, and fills mine with love. Liked the auburn match between Neil's beenie and the guitar. OK ... guitar capoed on the sixth or seventh fret. Nice pacing, suits the song tempo .. would have liked to see some imagery from nature, its a little introspective like this .. only because the space in Witless or Wise blew me wide open. Neil's hushed vocals are sublime.

  • I'm totally fond of this song and of the rest of the album.

  • Love the song, love the album. I never tire of Neil.....

  • ahhh-- the director's name is noel maitland, not neil maitland.

    go noel!

  • fixed! :)

  • and right quick, too! excellent.

shared a good chuckle w/ noel earlier today. we're going to call him neil now. MU-HAHAHA.

  • oh & by the way-- this one's growing on me with each repeat listen...

halstead seems to have become heir apparent to nick drake's soothing lullabies, and i have absolutely no problem with that... gorgeous stuff.

  • Im also a huge shoegaze fan; my favourite band is Serena Maneesh.

But what do you suggest, we stay in 1992?

He's doing what he feels right doing. I love pedals, but you should still be able to play your stuff acoustically.

Lets hope there isn't a Slowdive reunion to rival the Human League or Spandau Ballet. That would be sad.

  • i like the human league and spandu ballet, but they're nowhere near slowdive's league.

  • sigh... it's a shame what this has all become.

none of this holds a candle to slowdive. this is just sooo boring and weak. zzzzzzzzz.....

    *shakes head*

  • awesome. Wonderful stuff. Best album of 2009 for me - even though it was released in 2008!

  • Chasing the cars round Marble Arch a memory too far? Is that walking or driving a car? Trying to pick out the words from Neils songs leave me witless and none the wiser. Thats part of the appeal. All his songs have great lyrics. This song is timeless, it could be 100 years ago, or yesterday. His voice seems to occupy that area somewhere between whispering and singing. I love it!

  • what a luvly tune :)
