Don't worry april I was kick too one time for wearing bike shorts at walmart. I don't what was grong but a guy told me to get out and I never went back there for one year.
walmart os ridiculous. 7 years ago when i was 18 i was with 2 guys. 1 stoled a phone charger and i wasnt even on the same aisle as him. so they caught him and got me arrested for stealing!!! so i was banned we went to court and my lawyer made the skank from walmart look like a idiot. so i was found not guilty but still was banned and had to pay over $300 back to them plus to make it worse i had to write them a stupid letter begging them to let me come back so yeah they suck
Walmart is private property, they can make whatever rules or kick out whoever they want. If YOU had a business, how would you like someone saying you can't run it how you want?
The stupid thing about this whole thing is that the stores who take coupons get paid back 100% of the purchase price plus extra money to process the coupon. The stores lose no money whatsoever! These stores are so stupid they act like they aren't getting paid but they are plus extra money. Stupid!!!
Walmart is a private business and therefore, they have the right under the law to banhammer any lunatic for any reason whatsoever. Calling your lawyer is not going to help much.
The woman is no longer banned. It all started when the clerk informed her the "Ad Match" policy recently changed and she asked to speak to a manager. An argument ensued when the manager asked not to be filmed.
She could probably start a lawsuit against them cuz crazy as she may be, she did nothing wrong. They can't fault her for using the coupons they put out there, how about don't make coupons if you have a problem with people using them, she was just smart about it.
Some costumers are damn rude to casheirs they are just doing their job! And its the walmart policy not cashier policy! So why get mad at the cashiers???
Wow... saying "they are nuts" totally made me disrespect this broadcast and you as a person. Ignorance at it's finest. Why not do a little bit of research before jumping on the internet? If you would of done that you wouldn't have sounded like a person who doesn't know anything about saving a dollar. Wow... just wow.
I can't go to WalMart for the rest of my life, either. Because I hate that nasty place. Support stores that don't treat customers like crap. And if you think WalMart is the only place you can save money, do your homework.
I wonder if she would have got banned if her last name wasn't "Cuevas". I'm sure if her last name was not hispanic/latino she could have used all the coupons she liked... oh well... maybe her eyes are not blue and her hair is not blonde and most likely she's not white. =/
I bet someone named "Smith" or "Bush" wont have that problem...
Once again Michael has no idea of the facts.. The coupons can bought "pre cut" by the multi thousands of coupons at one time so it specifically does NOT take all day!!!
My ex used to be pretty good with coupons, but nothing like that. It takes a lot of time, dedication, and oddly enough, attention to detail and strategy. You have to get coupons that affect multiple items, that allow multiple coupons used at once, and various other things. It's kinda scary but fascinating.
TLC's Extreme Couponing is the name show. But not everyone is bad off, some people do it just to feed a family, without going to those big box stores.
I don't like WalMart, but honestly, I'm not really against them on this one. Maybe that's because I've dealt with people like this woman before. I call them "Coupon Whores", people who try to use ridiculous amounts of coupons on every item, xeroxing the coupons, going from one line to another and generally ignoring the stated coupon policies. And then of course, management lets them get away with it. It's money walking right out the door and it effects the bottom line.
@dmausf it does not effect the stores bottom line and extreme 'couponers' do not ignore coupon policies. What they are doing is taking advantage of deals. They store returns the coupons to the manufactures and then they refund the money....So no its not money walking out the door.
I kinda doubt the lady will actually be banned another walmart as long as she makes cash purchases and limits her coupon use. Anyways, this shouldn't surprise people how Walmart treats women like garbage, look at how they treat their own female employees.
Not sure if someone else has already had this realization but if you're doing the whole extreme coupon method of shopping it shouldn't matter where you're shopping at. That should make Walmart a moot point since their only strength is their cheap prices. with all of those coupons (supposedly) you can shop wherever and still make like a bandit.
2:39 How incredibly insensitive of the host. There are other places to shop but they are going to cost anywhere from double to triple the price and most people can't afford that, or they lose quality of life. On top of the 100% increase in your grocery bill, stores don't have a wide selection like WalMart and you will have to settle for nothing in place of item X, or a poor substitute.
Aren't legitimate coupons actually considered currency or legally binding contracts anyway?
Good riddens. I remember people coming into Burger King with bags full of coupons. And because they are still going to give BK their money, they always let them buy. And all I could do was sigh.
HOW THE F$CK DO YOU GET BANNED FROM A WALMART? Y'know what folks need to boycott the stores. This is so stupid. The whole point of using the damn coupons is to get deals. But I have heard of stores that get annoyed when they a customer manages to rack up coupons. I've never been able to see how it works unless there is coupons for stuff you use on a daily basis. Which is probably the reason stores started issuing "in store coupons".
How can WalMart even ban someone? do they have doormen who ask the woman's name to everyone that walks in every store? she can go back whenever she fucking wants
This is a stupid fucking move from Wal-Mart. Those coupons have value from the manufacturer, not Wal-Mart. That is to say, they SELL THOSE PRODUCTS BACK to the manufacturer and get PAID for giving them away. At the end of the day, inconvenience of sending those coupons in aside, they POCKET THE MONEY for those items. Items they would not have sold otherwise. Changing their coupon policy to thwart extreme couponing will greatly affect their bottom line. Some people are such total fucking idiots.
@ShogaNinja The coupon wasn't a manufacturers coupon. It was a competitors coupon. Walmart excepts those as part of their AdMatch, but there are restrictions.
How will Wal-Mart enforce this? What if she goes to a Wal-Mart in a different state? What?--do they have like a 'Wal-Mart Wanted' poster of people who can't shop there and they send it..to..each.....store.......hmmmmmm....
I used to deliver free papers every week - and there would be lots of left over coupons, and the supermarket would give equivalent discount of the coupon on any product - so I'd get a couple of tubs of ice cream a week gratis.
@bronzeownsu6 The point of coupons is to make shopping cheap. There is only a very small number of people who actually do extreme couponing. So for a national organization that makes millions of dollars every day to ban an extreme couponer just to save a couple hundred bucks is very insensitive for people who have a real talent, ability, and willingness to take hours out of their day to save money. Who cares if it isn't fair? Walmart makes enough money anyway even with coupons.
allot of coupons are not issued by Walmart there is a growing amount of people who take advantage of this by doubling and triple coupons which stores never had a police against now allot of stores are putting a stop to this you can not use more than one coupon per item and and are limited to how many you can get per coupon.
There is more to it but its sad that the stores do this and by the way stores do not have to honor any coupon the manufacturer puts out.
Walmart goes too far to save a couple bucks sometimes. This is one of those times. You can't ban someone from all your stores just because they've figured out an effective way to save money. If they think that someday everyone will be an extreme couponer, they are wrong. Most people are too lazy to do this. But if you ban the people who take the time to do this, then that's really just the company being cheap.
I personally think that Wal-Mart has right to ban her because coupons are for everyone to have share on and not to be taken all by one or only few people. Why does she have to buy so many items, thounsands for only $10 dollares? It's not FAIR, maybe she was making profit at expense of Walmart couponary. Myself I don't go to Walmat any more, but this time it's absolutely their right to ban her.
The guy is so ignorant. Some people don't make much money and have to find ways to save money .... they do it via couponing instead of taking out food stamps. Couponing takes time and you have to know what you are doing. It's work. Sorry, not everyone make money like you do.
Thats what I thought. If you watch a few videos on Youtube about "extreme couponing" you'll understand why. I dont mind people doing to to large stores like Walmart and would probably do it myself but seeing these people clear the shelves of local markets is sad. Just watch a few videos.
@asdfxyz1 Some stores will have a "limit per customer" on their discounted items. That's probably the smarter thing to do. Otherwise if shoppers feel the need to hoard items, that's what Costco and Sams clubs are for.
Most of them have severe psychological issues. They buy massive quantities of shit they don't currently need and may never need or use. It doesn't surprise me that Walmart banned her, evil corporation that they are. The coupons often break computer systems.
And I think they don't work as they should. You never should gain money for buying something, but currently you can with some of these coupon and sale combinations.
What's the problem? Coupons don't make the store lose money. The food companies pay the store instead of you. The only problem I see is that the cashier didn't want to do her job.
@MissErikHassleFan I WOULD HAVE A THINK BEFORE YOU COMMENT....RACE RELIGION....YOU CANNOT BE BOTH....THE ASKENAZI KAZHAR ZIONIST JEWS HIDE BEHIND BOTH...
The only time that extreme couponing is acceptable is when charities do it to buy food for the needy or the guy who sends care packages to the military overseas. Other than that, fuck off with that shit.
My Dad loved using coupons to buy stuff, but never to that extent. Even so we ended up with, analogous to the communist bureaucracies, what I called the "coupon bureaucracy". We'd have 5 boxes of raisin bran but no toilet paper.
I do believe that walmart overreacted, but part of this story was left out. The policy changed wasn't on Manufacture coupons but on COMPETITOR coupons. She was using a whole bunch of coupons from Target and other places and they chose not to honor so much of that anymore.
NOTE: Walmart has other things you can be pissed off with them about, but this one is mainly just a drop in the bucket.
How much is too much stuff to buy at once? I HATE going to grocery, so I'll buy what I need in discounted boxes rather than one a week (or however often I need it).
The woman questioned the change in policy, is that shocking? She was using good coupons, they're there to use, and they'd apparently done it for some time already, so why would someone NOT ask questions?
All they had to do was institute a "no more than 10 coupons at once" rule, or something similar. Problem solved.
Slight corrections. They do not spend their entire day before shopping hunting for coupons. They hunt for coupons over time (mailing lists, news papers, magazines, etc), then plan one major shopping trip with all the coupons they've acquired. It needn't take more than half an hour per day, if that. And it saves thousands, on things you would normally spend your hard earned money on. If you can get it for free, why not?
@ciniful Non-extreme couponing makes sense so long as you have the presence of mind to avoid buying stuff you wouldn't otherwise buy just because it's on sale. Extreme couponing entails _only_ buying when things are on sale and stockpiling for the rest of the time. If you buy something that's not on sale, then it's not really "extreme" anymore and you're not going to "save thousands."
Besides, a lot of stores are revising their policies to prevent a lot of the big stuff, like free items.
So, a shopper found a legit way to save money and Wal Mart wanted to put a stop to that. Sounds like the shopper exposed another reason why not to shop there.
This is total bullshit. She should complain directly to the manufacturers about Walmart's tactics, as they might be in violation of their vendor agreements, and subject to lawsuit.
@C3POROBOT1 I'm not understanding their problem with it in the first place, I work at a grocery store. We gets reimbursed for every non expired coupon we take, for the same amount the customer gets reimbursed for, PLUS an extra 8-15 cents PER coupon. Therefore if you have 1,000 worth of food, and 999 coupons for $1 off the store makes at LEAST $80 profit. For a customer clipping coupons.
These extreme couponers are ruining a good thing. The sweet deals are disappearing because they take it too far. God forbid you end up in line behind one of these wackos.
@bbg5000 That's great. Don't get me wrong, but if you see the show Ana mentions it makes me think that more people just go crazy for items instead of donating them. Please tell me if more people do donate like you mentioned than just that one example. I will gladly eat my words because I will be wrong in a good way.
@SHIFTYMCSHIFT21 I'm not sure how many donate, I've seen the show a few times. Some donate. Some have big families, or give stuff to their friends/neighbors/grown kids. Some are crazy and just buy as much as they can, fill every nook and cranny of their homes. Some show it off like it's a collection or a trophy. It's a bag a mixed people. But a good chunk do donate.
If this story is true, Walmart not accepting their own coupons is FALSE ADVERTISING, and may be a form of BAIT AND SWITCH.
I think that what walmart has done here may be illegal.
Just because they didn't expect people to be smart enough to take full advantage of their offer doesn't give them the right to change their minds after she drove all the way there because of those lies.
Plus, they're a big store. One lady getting a sweet deal will not have an impact.
What an awful story. All I learned was that a woman was banned from Walmart for having too many coupons. There were no details to the story and no questions answered. Not good.
Don't worry april I was kick too one time for wearing bike shorts at walmart. I don't what was grong but a guy told me to get out and I never went back there for one year.

they are pretty amazing, i saw a woman make a profit once...really?
princesslotusful 7 months ago
What's the problem? Coupons don't make the store lose money. The food companies pay the store instead of you. The only problem I see is that the cashier didn't want to do her job.

Coupons replace money, so if people can make it work for them, more power to them if they aren't breaking any rules!
shadowfaxx1 7 months ago
How much is too much stuff to buy at once? I HATE going to grocery, so I'll buy what I need in discounted boxes rather than one a week (or however often I need it).
The woman questioned the change in policy, is that shocking? She was using good coupons, they're there to use, and they'd apparently done it for some time already, so why would someone NOT ask questions?
All they had to do was institute a "no more than 10 coupons at once" rule, or something similar. Problem solved.
DeadlyChinchilla 7 months ago 2
Slight corrections. They do not spend their entire day before shopping hunting for coupons. They hunt for coupons over time (mailing lists, news papers, magazines, etc), then plan one major shopping trip with all the coupons they've acquired. It needn't take more than half an hour per day, if that. And it saves thousands, on things you would normally spend your hard earned money on. If you can get it for free, why not?
ciniful 7 months ago 3
@ciniful Non-extreme couponing makes sense so long as you have the presence of mind to avoid buying stuff you wouldn't otherwise buy just because it's on sale. Extreme couponing entails _only_ buying when things are on sale and stockpiling for the rest of the time. If you buy something that's not on sale, then it's not really "extreme" anymore and you're not going to "save thousands."
Besides, a lot of stores are revising their policies to prevent a lot of the big stuff, like free items.
velocity679 7 months ago
If everybody started using coupons Walmart would be fucked for life

So, a shopper found a legit way to save money and Wal Mart wanted to put a stop to that. Sounds like the shopper exposed another reason why not to shop there.

This is total bullshit. She should complain directly to the manufacturers about Walmart's tactics, as they might be in violation of their vendor agreements, and subject to lawsuit.
C3POROBOT1 7 months ago 3
@C3POROBOT1 I'm not understanding their problem with it in the first place, I work at a grocery store. We gets reimbursed for every non expired coupon we take, for the same amount the customer gets reimbursed for, PLUS an extra 8-15 cents PER coupon. Therefore if you have 1,000 worth of food, and 999 coupons for $1 off the store makes at LEAST $80 profit. For a customer clipping coupons.

PNR2001 7 months ago
Good. One less person to make the store crowded. Almost everyday that store is packed. It's hard to find parking spots.
EdgarD8387 7 months ago
@bbg5000 That's great. Don't get me wrong, but if you see the show Ana mentions it makes me think that more people just go crazy for items instead of donating them. Please tell me if more people do donate like you mentioned than just that one example. I will gladly eat my words because I will be wrong in a good way.
SHIFTYMCSHIFT21 7 months ago
@SHIFTYMCSHIFT21 I'm not sure how many donate, I've seen the show a few times. Some donate. Some have big families, or give stuff to their friends/neighbors/grown kids. Some are crazy and just buy as much as they can, fill every nook and cranny of their homes. Some show it off like it's a collection or a trophy. It's a bag a mixed people. But a good chunk do donate.
bbg5000 7 months ago
If this story is true, Walmart not accepting their own coupons is FALSE ADVERTISING, and may be a form of BAIT AND SWITCH.
I think that what walmart has done here may be illegal.
Just because they didn't expect people to be smart enough to take full advantage of their offer doesn't give them the right to change their minds after she drove all the way there because of those lies.
Plus, they're a big store. One lady getting a sweet deal will not have an impact.
