An off-sides on the defense means a free play; so the QB has a free shot at the end zone, so you might as well continue to block, just in case the team actually makes a good play. and 2. This gives the D-line a free shot at the QB... the only reason I can see someone wanting to stand still is if they don't like the QB.

Here is why he didn't move.. if you've watched FSUs offensive line all year (The only elite part of that team).. when they feel a defensive player has jumped offsides, they are supposed to stay in their stances and not move until the whistle is called. Usually the entire line stays still, but I guess he's the only one who felt he saw a defensive player jump offsides. Hope that clears it up.
