  • wow these triops are really pale

only one of mine hatched too, well two but by the time the second one was alive the first one was dying

  • they re lile mini super faster go kart!!!

  • looks so easy! how do you get them and to grow that size? all I get is daphnia and clam shrimps.

  • wheres all the detrius went D:

  • when do they start reproducing?

  • when do i feed them? they hatched today at night!

  • aw at the end was there only 1 triop left?

  • lol the 1st coment n a year - They seem happy

  • hehe, great song choice.

  • dont you read the instroctions? DO NOT FED YOUR TRIOPS IN THEYR FIRST 24 HOURS OF LIFE!!!, and you have to wait till they get adult to move em into other tank"

  • you were suppost to feed them on day two, and im guessing you weren't watching the tempature when you switched tanks

  • Cool I have never seen them before they are wild? Hugs, Donna

  • You're supposed to feed them one day AFTER they hatch, and maake sure the water you put them in is distilled and room temperature.

  • mine have been in the tank for 8 days and i can barly see them their not growing any tips?

  • did they hatch? or if they did hatch but arent growing they are cyclopses. this regurarly happens. it also ahppened to me. or u r not feeding them at the right times or took out the hatching nutrients that was laid at the top of your tank.

  • only one of mine has hatched... if tht is the only one... will it still be ok by its self or will it get lonley... and how do i clean them out?

  • How to clean them out: Carefully remove half of the bottled or mineral water (not tap water) down the sink dont flush away the triops btw and refill ^^

Hatching: how many days have you had them explain how you set up ur tank plz Hope i helped..^^"

  • wow those things get big

  • wow those things get pretty big!

  • can i move my triops into a bigger tank now? they are about 7 days old

  • day8 you can move them in a bigger tank

  • my triops are about 7 days old, can i move them into a bigger tank?

  • my triops are 8 days yet still 5 millimetres.... do you know why?

  • mine did the same..

what are you feeding them? after about 1 month they should be around 4 centimetres

  • maybe because they dont get enough sunlight

  • maybe because they dont get enough sunlight

  • Is the temp in the triops zone(22 degrees celcius to 29 degrees celcius)

  • Have you been feeding them more over time?have you moved them to a bigger area?try those, otherwise,i have no clue whats wrong with your triops.

  • Yeah, Triops are obsessed with digging. My triops even make burrows to rest in there sand!

  • funny. they're a form of shrimps

  • add some sand for the triops to dig and lay eggs.

  • just wondering, are triops omnivores or carnivores?

  • Carnivores.

  • u mean herbivors, they eat both plants and animals. they scavenge.

  • they are naturally carnivores, but they will eat plant matter if u give it to them.

  • omnivores eat both plant and animals, herbivores just eat plant

  • yeah i was reading the comments that were earlier put, and i agree with u herbivores can eat meat and veggies.

  • no herbivours eat plants only omnivores eat both

  • aww there soo cute.

  • hmm...

    According to some research...

"Every adult triops needs 2~4 (1 gal.) of free space..."

I don't think you have much surface area in your bowl, so the water is deprived of oxygen = reason why your Triops are swimming up often.

  • they are soo ugly id sugest sea monkeys they look nicer

  • yes, but seamonkeys are extremely easy to kill. One speck of dirt in their tank and all seamonkeys are dead.

  • i think they're all female,or ,at least, you can't consider the differences between male and female, because they reproduce with partenogenesi,so even if they're male can reproduce

  • i bhave only one baby triops and it hacted today. am so happy this is my first triop and i hope its a female for more eggs^^

  • i need one of those!

  • Your song was GREAT!! Fun vid!

  • Lol vid! Great! What song is this? Fun 2 listen 2!

  • Very good. I have a couple of Triops films too (press my nickname).

  • Did they go to the top of the tank and get on their backs often? I saw that in the video, and if they do that a whole lot that means they aren't getting enough oxygen, because the surface of the water is too small compared to the amount of water. If they do that a lot, then that'll keep them from growing to their full potential. A shallower tank helps. I keep mine in a plastic food container thing.

  • Triops longicaudatus live for around 90 days, Triops cancriformis live for 120 and are much bigger!

    See web sites:

    triops cc

    or

    mytriops com

  • The music is awesome!

Loved your vids & now I know for sure - I NEED some triops in my life .. Thanks for sharing :D

  • i have a very important question to ask!!!! plz listen. is it ok to use aquafina for the water that the triops grow in?

  • they live 10 week's but how do you clean the water?

  • u have to take out the triops with a clean plastic spoon and put them in a seperta cup then u have to dunp out the old water and put new water then put the triops in

  • They seem like Cockroaches from the sea.

I wonder how long the colony lasts.

  • cool video hope your triops live well

myn hatched today! They look like tiny cotton wool balls!

  • cool video. is that a goldfish bowl

  • Yes it is. And thank you.

  • How long do they live?

  • one week

  • Nice vid, reminiscent of sixth grade science class... I've been thinking about getting some.

  • i had mine for so long that i was realy sad and reacted like it was a real pet when it died cries

  • the song is fun to listen to

  • mine alwas tred water at the top of the tank

  • I used 24 eggs, only 4 hatched. The 4th one was kind of a late one. It was too small when the other three already resembled a triop. Yesterday I just found one. It seems this one ate the others. This is what happens if you don't feed them properly. The big one is growing up. I have to feed it daily, otherwise it could die. They reach 2 inches long. Right now it is about 4 mm long. The cool thing about them is that they have been around for 220 million years.

  • how long do they live?

  • I thought they had three eyes?

  • The third eye is hard to see. Its two compound eyes are dark and easily visible. The third naupliar eye is clear looking and sits in between the other two but a little bit to the back.

  • i like it ^^

  • what do u feed them plus do they lay eggs or die without reproducing

  • they do breed, but only if you got sand in the tank because they bury them in there

  • wil they breed in gravel?

  • can you use any sand?

  • i tryed growing mine a few years ago...but i over feed them and they died , so now that i know how much to feed them im going to try to grow some more <3

  • i wonder how long they live ?

  • 20 to 90 days so it says in the triops book.

  • well, i like this song :) and i think its funny to watch. they´re so similar to my triops!

  • Damn mine did not grow and I tried two times already mabye its the spring water I keep using, its ice mountain or the size of the tank to large but its not over a liter or mabye I'm just getting ripped off.

  • hey use distilled water

  • great vid! hopfully mine will grow full size....and what a cheerful lot of comments lol

  • why not put some substrate in there? it makes things a lot more interesting. Oh well i bet by now yours are mostly likely dead anyways =(

  • ...that song is bad...

  • "Bad" good, or "bad" bad? "Bad" bad, right?

  • I like the song.
