I so agree with you. Why do they feel the need to change the name? Korea has a problem with trying to be "accepted" and their international marketing plans are just stupid sometimes. Makgulli is a fine name. Perhaps the drink will get even more respect and notice when it's called by its original name than some stupid name like "drunken rice".
Drunken Rice is an awesome name, but I think its a more appropriate name for something like a bar or a mixed drink incorporating makkoli. Awesome drink though. One of the benefits of living in LA is that you can easily obtain them from grocery stores and in bars.
