If I had the money, I would definitely buy this. Just because no noise sounds way better than brand new and still freaking loud desktop. Maybe I'll go look into hybrid drives...
Futuristic as fuck. Instead of chopping of your arm and trading it for one of these, wait about 10 years. I'm sure this kind of technology will be standard on every computer by then.
on each seperate advantage, they just repeat themselves in the form of graphs, sharp edged shapes and a demonstration... what is the point, why not just tell us once? also, surely as it uses the same technology as flash drives (if i'm not mistaken?) won't it last a lot less longer than an ordinary hdd?
Unfortunately even the fancy figures dont justify its price I mean who the hell would spend this much just to boot up their windows 11sec faster, this really makes no sense
The presentation is clean, but this is Intel we're talking about. I'd expect better than the sort of stuff I'm seeing here. It's kind of corny, there's tons of text to read with little time to read it (even for a speed-reader like me), and repetitive sounds are kind of annoying.
~300 eur for 120gb drive, when you can get 750gb for around 80eur? thanks, I think i'll pass the huge advantage of loading windows faster(cannot care less about all the rest of "advantages" )
Let me say: CONGRATULATIONS to the person(or team) which created this presentation, it's captivating, if the price of SSD's would be at most 150% of the conventional HDD, I would place an order right now, unfortunately the price does not really justify it's advantages.
@duminicad Also to add the vast difference in available memory sizes (with respect to the more popular sizes available as of today's technology)... 80GB SSD Vs 1TB HDD.
I wonder if anyone actually did a financial feasibility before commercializing this project. It's definitely not for Home Users, and such small memory size also limits it's application in commercial projects. Who would be their target market?
@asharkhaliq well.... I don't know exactly what's the real size of a(say) 40GB SSD, but it must be at least 80GB, the cells are "dying" so the SSD needs a special firmware that takes care of that, the problem with SSD's is that they are asking a fortune for it so that they can research more and provide a much cheaper and reliable[!] high performance HDD alternative, I can't afford losing data, so SSD's are out of the question, it's not mature enough!

@mario11168 No, cause over 4 years you can buy one of 1-2 terrabyte thats even faster. Another 2 years later, the speed/capacity is doubled another time. 10 Years ago, we all had harddisks, that were terribly slow and also they didn't had 2TB, just 30GB. Technology keeps improving.
Also, if no one will be purchasing the SSDs now, they will go out of production, and there wouldn't even be better ones on the market in centurys. Though, i understand you, there are reason enough to buy one.

I would use 2 hard drives
SSD for the operating system: for applications and games to run supper fast
HDD for all other : photos, movies and songs

Incredible. But hat about price? In my local market SSD is 1200%, yes 1200 times costly than an HDD. How would you justify it?

@vjUmair it's because it's still an emerging technology :)

I agree with a lot of people on here the price is just to high for something thats not quit 100%.

You dont need to buy 240GB SSD, 60GB is enough just for OS.
