@mariodiddy04 No. Six Flags New England already has one of these Intamin mega coasters called Bizarro. The new coaster they are getting is called Goliath, but it's the old Déjà Vu coaster from Six Flags Magic Mountain (which is a Vekoma giant inverted boomerang coaster). We've posted on-ride POV & off-ride videos of Déjà Vu on this channel. if you want to check them out. /watch?v=xNWBzKUuJgs /watch?v=QqHQvBDnXYw
@MrZombow Giovanola was frequently contracted by Intamin for steel work on their early coasters and Bolliger & Mabillard were two engineers that worked for Giovolana before breaking away to form their own company.
@arschgesicht6246 No. Many POVs are not personal, but simply a camera attached to something, often things that a person cannot be in or on (i.e. weather balloons, missiles, deep sea robots. etc.).
Yes this is easily the best Goliath. In fact it may be earth's best steel roller coaster; only Expedition GeForce has the potential to de-throne it. Also, let me clear up the hyper, mega, and mega-lite confusion once and for all. Hyper coaster means lift or longest drop have a 60 metre minimum height. Mega coasters are less than that but at least 45m in height. Mega-Lite means between 30 and 44m.
@LeChiffre67 and to put the Giga and Strata coaster status into there Giga coaster is something over 91m or 300Ft. a strata coaster is something reaching over 121.92m or 400Ft. and for all of the Americans here i will say that a hyper coaster is over 60m or 200Ft, a Mega coaster is something over 45m or 150Ft, a mega light is something between 30-44m or 100-149Ft.
@LeChiffre67 Errr.... Dont get me wrong, Goliath and GeForce are great coasters, but you've gotta consider Millenium Force, Intimidator 305, Bizzaro, and the B&M hypers before you can say that....
i just always 4get the height but as i can rmeeber isnt this the smallest of the FOUR (i no there r 5 GOLIATHS but i h8 thaT the so called GOLIATH in fiesta texas is just batman recoloured and duznt even own up 2 the GOLIATH name)
@EastCoasterGeneral i would like to know, have you ever been denied permission? i mean, after all every ride has a sign in the queue area that says "watch your stuff". so actually the ride ops dont need to care about your camera, do they? sometimes i even filmed while leaving the station and passing the ride ops and no one ever said anything. still, i somehow feel the need to keep it hidden until the ride starts ;)
@mookiesuperhero I've been denied permission to film at certain times, but have always been able to arrange another time to come back & do so. Sometimes I've had to go to a park early before opening to film & other times they have let me stay late after the park closes to film nighttime POVs.
The reason the ops need to care is because someone could be injured if you dropped your camera & it hit them.
not anymore. A few years back, Six Flags had to sell 7 parks to PARC Management so they can get more money. Six Flags Holland was one of the 7 ill fated parks.
i don't know if its the best out of all 5 because i haven't been on any of them sadly but it's a piece of art for sure Werner Stengel is a genius designer.
For all those comparing this to other Goliaths, this isn't even the same coaster type OR manufacturer. The ones you are thinking of are B&M hyper coasters while this is an Intamin mega-lite. This is less expensive, has a smaller footprint, and in my opinion offers a better ride.
Sorry RollercoasterFreak3, but both Intamin & the park, as well as every major roller coaster website, consider this to be a mega coaster. This coaster has a footprint bigger than Bizarro at SFNE & mega-lites are much smaller. And since they all have the same name I don't see any problem comparing them, even if they are different types & manufactures. Even the B&Ms are different types. One's an invert & the others are megas.
I haven't ridden an Intamin, or any other B&M I think, so I can't really compare.. Just wondering, are Intamin's that much different then a Hyper coaster like the one at SFOG? I know Intain is the designer and all.
I think there's a big difference in airtime between the B&Ms & the Intamins. The B&Ms are floaters and the Intamins are ejectors. Both are good, but give you a totally different sensation. So it's a matter of preference. Do you like to be ejected out of your seat at the top of the hills or do you like to float out of your seat all the way to the bottom of the hill? The Intamins are quick & forceful, whereas the B&Ms are more sustained.
Oh I get it! I like how you feel like your floating on Goliath at SFOG...so Intamin's would be more forceful...sounds cool! It sounds like it would be a more intense ride that way too...sweet! Not that B&M's aren't fun, they are!!!!! :D
Sorry Chobo500, but both Intamin & the park, as well as every major roller coaster website, consider this to be a mega coaster. Mega-lites are much smaller, as Jewls1993 points out.
is this the one going to sfne

This Goliath coaster is the best! And that's because of the fact that Intamin made this!
But Giovolana was also great. Wasn't B&M and Intamin co-operating with Giovolana or something?
