You know what I don't get? Women could be running around in shorts and a tank top but they're not. They're trying. They're giving it their best in an immodest world. And all anyone ever does it tell them "No! That's not good enough!" "That's haram!" "That's bad!" And you WONDER why so many of them leave Islam. Know one of the reasons why I quit wearing hijab? If a Muslimah chooses to wear a Hijab then she should try to do in a way where she is not trying to catch attention of the opposite gender with makeup, tight clothing, etc. Hijab in itself represents modesty that doesn't scream "hey look at me" but its purpose is the complete opposite that "I'm off limits, so please don't bother me." Just what I felt, sorry if it offended anyone. My intentions are pure and Allah (swt) knows best. =]
I think everything is in your intention. I'm not using this as an excuse, but i dont think there is anything wrong with wearing colorful scarves or nice bracelets etc. You should cover your hair, your curves and should be modest in your attitude/behavior. But you dont have to dress in black, wear absolutely no makeup, and not even smile if their is men around. I know your intention in this was in the right place...may Allah (swt) bless you for that inshallah

i think this is a little too exaggerated... the fact the person is wearing hijab is a big deal. and if a person decides to wear colorful hijabs, woman are allowed to wear color.. is allowed. we are allowed to wear jewelery, and we are allowed to wear kajol, or surma. andd we are allowed to wear shoes with heels.. and wearing hijab in a fashionable way is allowed... there are many styles to wear it.. and there is nothing wrong with those styles. you are going over board...
I agree with all but the last part (2:00). There's nothing wrong with tying your hair up. Some sisters have long hair and need to do this otherwise their hair will stick out the bottom of their hijab. What's wrong is when women go and make a big hump on the back of their head by wrapping a second scarf around their hair underneath the hijab, or putting some other kind of object under their hijab to make it stick up more than necessary.
Women were born without the hijab just like men. Grow up mentally and modernise! I'm Muslim and I refuse to be discriminated as such simply because I'm a woman.

I wear hijaab and I wear loose, modest clothes. But I think some of these rules are too extreme.
There's nothing wrong with bright color or your jewellery showing. High heels are fine too. I laugh whenever you feel like it. Never heard of rule #10. What are you supposed to do if you have long hair and have to tie it up?

Nice video..just wanted to say one thing..do the patterns and colors really matter..given they might cause a slight higher chance of someone lookin at u..(although they still stare at u, nd u cud be wearing the plainest of plain hijab or abaya)..it really doesnt make a difference because ur not "showing" anything. How are we supposed to cover ourselves, I choose to do it that way because that is the only way my hair fits safely under the hijab without coming out.
some people tie their hair in a big knot and some put it high up to show that they have a long hair... some even put a big clip for illusion that they have long hair... just try to make it as small as u can and not make it visible that u have a big knot of hair under the scarf.. the point is u dont want to show men how long or thick ur hair is by the volume of ur knot being visible from under the scarf.. :)

u c back in the days..nikabs/hijabs/burkha's use to be simple..without any designs..and in white then black.and very loose fittings...and u couldnt even c the eyes...NOW i c ..that times have changed and the fitting is just right..curves r shown.the eyes..are more showing and to top it off..the colour scheme has gone from black to pink/yellow orange ..damn these colours would even attract the bee's..and we still wander why the bee's r dying. my point is...we all forget one important thing...

yes, you can wear make up ONLY in places like your house with your family members,husband,parties that include women only. But you try not to wear make up in places that you know that you will meet men across the street or shopping malls .
I would like to see proof quotes added to theses opinions of correct and incorrect hijab. Since we in Islam know that our deen is based on proof I think it would be beneficial for those of us that wear the "colorful" hijab or Khol on our eyes or jewelry to know from where you are quoting...thank you sisters
None of these apply to me really. Although I do wear a Hijab I never EVER have a hump because I have hardly any hair. I have at least two bands over my head so my ears and hair never show even through a see-through scarf.
As a christian that covers modestly and cover my hair and i must say this is very moving and that i love the song can anyone tell me the song name or singer but also as much as we all disagree we all must be thankful that god no matter what you call him or obey him is the same god that created this world and all of us in it :)

@2redpapers you dont have to wear that a black abaya if you dont want to: wear something something that covers your figure. as for high heels: if it causes discomfort: catches on your clothes, stains them, trips you, makes you walk differently you shouldnt wear them. As for make up: EXCESSIVE kohl and Mascara draws attention to your face. Men are supposed to have to deal with you and your mind, your wit. Dont tempt them anymore than they already are. no one said "no makeup" just "not too much"

I use eyepencil to even my eyelids, not to get someones attention. im satisfied with what Allah gave me Alhamdulillah. I dont need a mans looks to feel appreciated. The hadith you refer to is talking about the hair being high on the head (like a camel hump) not tied backwards as that is not on the top of the head.

@Prtoricnprncz I'm not a Muslim but I'm under the impression that hijab does not refer to simply covering your hair. It's a code of dress for men and women that promotes a more humble outward appearence in order to prevent lusting from the opposite sex etc. Some people feel that colourful, flashy hijab with make-up is contrary to the stated purpose for wearing hijab in the first place. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

@TheNewVideos I agree with you on this one point, muslim women are not like nuns, unlike nuns, they can get married, they can have children and they can have sex. However, the part where you live your life serving god is part of any Muslims life ( male or female). The reason Muslim women dress the way they do is to have a sense of modesty and to not attract attention. Dressing modestly is also the responsibility of Muslim males and is sadly something that is taken lightly.

My dad asks me every once a while on my way to college, that why do i wear an abbaya, i reply with the answer that it is to hide my body/self, so that men don't oggle at me, n im thinking he will be pleased(a side benefit) but instead he tells me you are wearing it for a different reason than what it should be. You know what, the most beautiful characteristic in a man is when he lowers his gaze for the sake of Allah swt, when speaking to a women. I have only met a handful of men who do this, including a man who was a christian by faith. This is truly something special.

Asalam o aleikum, not to offend u or Islam, but it doesn't matter what u wear. Men will be attracted to women. I am a hijabi, and love it. I cover up. It is really important for me. I have tried that black niqab, hijab and jilbab. The only thing u could see was my eyes. And that did not stop men from actually lusting for me. The only way to do that, is to actually stay inside. Never go out. I think it's a shame that everyone are only consentrated on women to be modest.

@abzy3k LOL: First off, i'm a girl. I asked a scholar and he said it's allowed. it's neither in the Quran or Sunnah that we cannot wear colourful clothes. That was his full answer. He also gave me a hadith where the Prophet said "Allah is beautiful and likes beauty. One can wear elegant clothing" Now, is there anything left? Oh, I got mad at the person who made this for basically backbiting by putting up pictures of random gals on this vid to illustrate their "un-Islamicness" by her standards.

I think everything is in your intention. I'm not using this as an excuse, but i dont think there is anything wrong with wearing colorful scarves or nice bracelets etc. You should cover your hair, your curves and should be modest in your attitude/behavior. But you dont have to dress in black, wear absolutely no makeup, and not even smile if their is men around. I agree with all but the last part (2:00). There's nothing wrong with tying your hair up. Some sisters have long hair and need to do this otherwise their hair will stick out the bottom of their hijab. What's wrong is when women go and make a big hump on the back of their head by wrapping a second scarf around their hair underneath the hijab, or putting some other kind of object under their hijab to make it stick up more than necessary.

I wear hijaab and I wear loose, modest clothes. But I think some of these rules are too extreme.
There's nothing wrong with bright color or your jewellery showing. High heels are fine too. I laugh whenever you feel like it. Never heard of rule #10. What are you supposed to do if you have long hair and have to tie it up?

some people tie their hair in a big knot and some put it high up to show that they have a long hair... some even put a big clip for illusion that they have long hair... just try to make it as small as u can and not make it visible that u have a big knot of hair under the scarf.. the point is u dont want to show men how long or thick ur hair is by the volume of ur knot being visible from under the scarf.. :)

@Prtoricnprncz I'm not a Muslim but I'm under the impression that hijab does not refer to simply covering your hair. It's a code of dress for men and women that promotes a more humble outward appearence in order to prevent lusting from the opposite sex etc. Some people feel that colourful, flashy hijab with make-up is contrary to the stated purpose for wearing hijab in the first place. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

However, the part where you live your life serving god is part of any Muslims life ( male or female). The reason Muslim women dress the way they do is to have a sense of modesty and to not attract attention. Dressing modestly is also the responsibility of Muslim males and is sadly something that is taken lightly.

Asalam o aleikum, not to offend u or Islam, but it doesn't matter what u wear. Men will be attracted to women. I am a hijabi, and love it. I cover up. It is really important for me. I have tried that black niqab, hijab and jilbab. The only thing u could see was my eyes. And that did not stop men from actually lusting for me. The only way to do that, is to actually stay inside. Never go out. I think it's a shame that everyone are only consentrated on women to be modest.

He also gave me a hadith where the Prophet said "Allah is beautiful and likes beauty. One can wear elegant clothing" Now, is there anything left? Oh, I got mad at the person who made this for basically backbiting by putting up pictures of random gals on this vid to illustrate their "un-Islamicness" by her standards.

Islamically, guys have restrictions too - they need to be covered from the navel to the knees. And the burqa is NOT islamic clothing; it is ARAB clothing (and I think they go too far with it). It's a head-scarf for goodness sake. My mother (now 80), wouldn't have dreamed of going out without wearing one when she was young. It was just a bit of modesty.
